I think we should keep it for discussing terrain, until the MC World ends

Wow. Personally, I've been saying the new Minecraft is pretty awesome but with this topic in mind, I was mind-blown. Great job! Although this might make various people angry, I wish the old terrain generator was back!

*sniffle* We don't want the old generator...

Did something happen to you in your childhood to give you this unreasonable fear of rutabaga?
The generator we propose is MUCH closer to the 1.7.3 one, though.
While the new generator is much worse than the old one, it did what it was intended for — it made biomes larger and more distinct. We should keep that.
Well, if your efforts are successful, the results will definitely not be immediate. I mean, they changed terrain twice and both generators had problems; this is not gonna be easy to fix. They may actually bring back the old generator to tide us over while they work on something better. Note that I said the return of 1.7.3's generator would be a temporary fix; I could see it happening. Of course, Im not on the team, so Im just guessing.
And oddly enough, I would like Taiga biomes to only generate far north and be smaller. They get really irritating because cobblestone generators can't be constant and the snow is blinding. Anyone else hate Taigas?
yea, I lost a lot of interest in the game after the 1.8 update, I really hope they make a new better one like you described, I would LOVE to see a jungle mountain area that is covered in now!

In a game where the world is much bigger than earth, where would you suggest the snow start?
About 5 million blocks away from the spawn?
Though I think snow shouldnt be a biome IMHO, except for high mountains, snow should be weather, like it would snow and then for a minecraft week or so the snow would stay there and eventually melt away, like snow should
HOLY FRIGGIN CRAP THE LETTER IS FINISHED! Now I'm really glad I brought up the letter again! I suggest that we send the letter in early to mid Janruary though, just so it arrives at Mojang around the time 1.5 is finished.
I hate taigas but only because the snow doesn't pass through the leaves. I like snow as a weather (yes, it freezes water, but rain sounds annoying).
Well, to me they're just a vast, white expanse with some spruce trees being the only attraction. I go to Taigas to grab some spruce saplings and logs and I get the frick out ASAP. They just seem useless.
@Danix: Ah, I didn't know that. My bad.
@Dawn: I was thinking around 4-5000. Just something further away from it.
You know it's them Obama taxes, those $3 million dollar vacations aren't going to pay and take for themselves.
