You could change the seed of the map, I'm not sure what mod lets you do that. I'm also pretty sure mobs don't spawn on transparent blocks like half slabs, glass, fences, etc...
Slime spawning chunks (like biomes) are generated on the fly using the seed of the map. With mcedit/nbtedit you can change the seed. With mcedit, load the world, hold ctrl, press I, and change the seed. With nbtedit, load the level.dat file, and change the "seed" entry. If you use nbtedit, you can edit enchantments, xp, xplevel (they're different), the player's invintory, ect, ect. Have you seen the enchanted sign in vechs' "mini hostile: ragequit holidays"? You can do that with nbtedit.
The thing is, slimes keep spawning. is there a way to remove slime spawning chunks without destroying the map? Thanks.
I know. Notch isn't really smart about slime spawning. It's either hordes of them or none.
move it to a chunk that can't spawn slimes.
Respond regardless.
No.
Is there a way to re-write the level.dat to remove the slime spawning ability in that chunk?
Learn how to code, then sure, why not?
For now, MCEdit is a great thing.
Hope this helps :wink.gif:
