I'm on a hunt for t3h Diamonds. I was digging at Level 11 for about 20 or so blocks then I found a vain of 4, then 5. Is it possible to find more? If so, what level?
My goal is to get 64 of them, right now I'm at 18.
Oh, and a little more help, what level is Iron most abundently found on? I'm running a bit low on that stuff, and it's getting hard to find. Any help?
Thanks, forum. I can always count on you.

It's hard waiting around for something that you know might never happen; but it's even harder to give up when you know it's everything you ever wanted.
Don't know how official this is, but I've seen it passed around alot. Might be useful.
This.
Try to mine in the middle of the layers. That way, diamonds can appear below and above you.
The chart shows where they are found commonly, but sometimes, diamonds can appear above layer 16.
Layer 0 is all bedrock. Bedrock also appears in layers 1-4, reducing the mineral count and making it hard to mine there. Diamonds are equally common between layers 5-17. Layers 18 and 19 have a little diamond but not much, and 20+ has none. However, lava is common up to layer 10, so the optimal place to search for diamonds is layers 11-17.
The fastest way to find them is to dig two levels of 2-height mines on those layers like this:

Commonly people leave gaps of 3, 4, or 5 between tunnels because in theory you should see diamond deposits from one side or the other. However on my maps I've found that diamonds frequently appear in 1x1 or 1x2 deposits and might be missed by 3 or more spacing, so I use a spacing of 2.
Iron appears with equal likelihood from layer 5 up to sea level. You should find plenty while diamond hunting.
Diamonds are usually level 16 and bedrock, and is near lava a lot. I have found that in abandoned mine shafts there's some by lava especially. And iron is usually everywhere, even above the ground. So that means it doesn't have to be in caves or holes.

As others have pointed out, diamonds are evenly distributed across the lowest 16 layers, though they should taper out a bit around 16 since they are generated in veins. There are more of them per space in solid areas as opposed to caves, because caves effectively "erase" ores when generated. This is why branch mining tends to work better than you might expect. I dig long branches and space them at least 5 apart. It doesn't matter if you "miss" any diamonds, all that matters is the rate at which you are eliminating potential veins.

You didn't have to find this out by posting a whole topic. You could've looked at the miencraft wiki.
Iron- Did you really have to ask? It appears anywhere; in mountains, in caves, in the sky( only in floating islands).
Diamond- Appears at layers 2-18: its suggested to look in layers 10-16. I personally look in layer 13 because caves stop at layer 12.

You did not say if enchanting was viable for your needs. If you're playing single-player I would strongly suggest you set up a mob trap and grind monsters for XP and use the XP with bookshelves around an enchanting table to get high level enchantments on iron pickaxes to get the fortune enchantment on an iron or diamond pickaxe. Search around for an enchanting guide which shows you the optimal enchantment levels to roll fortune on an iron or diamond tool, it varies a bit but the XP grinding is well worth it if you are able to use the time to set up a mob trap to grind monsters with. If you want faster killing of monsters you may be able to use a drop trap setup to bring the monsters down to where a stone sword or hit without a weapon will kill them.
I hope this helps, I find XP grinding is well worth the effort, you can get pretty good enchantments, if you can get fortune III on iron or diamond pickaxe you will have those 64 diamonds in less time than it would take otherwise! As a bonus, you will likely get other enchantments with the fortune enchantment and hopefully one of the enchantments will be efficiency IV or V which make for very efficient pickaxes whether iron or diamond!
Last but not least please remember that diamonds can and do spawn near buried underground lava lakes, massive in size sometimes, be sure to carry water buckets and dig a clear space right around the diamonds first before digging them out with a tool, enchanted or not! The last thing you want to see are your precious diamonds going poof in a pool of lava!

I'll admit, you should play on the seed 1.6 make your home in a cave right behind the spawn and if you explore for a bit you'll find 2-4 dungeons and there should be diamonds in 1

Don't know if there's anything "set" for Iron, though.

Iron is best found spelunking, no two ways about it.
Diamonds are special in that you'll barely get any unless you actually get down and truly mine.

literally just dug straight down and got a huge vein of iron at like 49-54? something like dat
And don't talk about digging straight down it isn't good advice.
