I remember when Notch's blog updated every 1-2 days, and there was an update every week that always added something new.
Now Notch moved in with his girlfriend and there's 1-2 blog updates per week, and there's hardly any minecraft updates at all. Not to mention when there IS an update, it's not for monsters or caves (which were half of the fun of the game), it's always a fix for some bug that none of us noticed.
Notch doesn't even twitter as much anymore. I feel like his girlfriend is killing minecraft (and probably all of his money).
Ah yes, blame it on Elin, because some people are incapable of realizing just how effort Notch puts into his daily routine on Minecraft. He is working on the game: /infdev takes a lot of effort to program and get ready. And then -- oh yes then, we shall soon get MP Survival.

Really, a week and you go "omg it's dying, everyun for himselves~".
I've seen loads of indygames being silent for months and then coming with a huge update, even when the person was updating daily before that.
Heck, I think it's amazing Notch keeps these daily blogs up.
Oh and that girlfriend thing is really uncalled for.
Notch is just a man. He has an entire life agenda by which he charts his actions and Minecraft does not occupy the entire thing. Heavy Rain drop-kicked development for a moment, too; surely that doesn't mean the project has been abandoned or that Quantic Dream is conspiring to derail it.
He's also one man. I think the pace of development is incredibly rapid for a single person helming the entire project. Has it even been a year yet? It's still hard to believe how far Minecraft has come considering I was originally playing offline with four blocks on one speck of land that I would fall infinitely from if I dug too deep.
That the project is dying, dead or anything like it is a woefully under-informed assumption. Notch has been pretty transparent about the entire thing (we can see the purchases, for crying out loud. He practically gave us a bank statement) so I think if something like that was even near becoming a reality we would certainly be told about it. In fact, didn't he announce not so long ago that he intended to work on the project as long as it remained popular? Have a little faith.
Finally, blaming ez is way out of line. That you even draw that kind of conclusion only serves to demonstrate how little you know about the situation. She's as much a fan of the game as much as any of us; besides, even if Notch DID decide to take one step back from work to take one nearer to his fiancee, I'd say he's totally justified.

Dude I already admitted that I was wrong and that I should have given more time. Read the thread.
Did you forget the whole "Notch moved" thing? Have you ever had to move? It's not a simple as packing everything into Capsule Corp. capsules, and just taking everything over. A week is damn fine time to get back up and running, really.
To assume ez is "killing" Minecraft (and his money), and place blame, is not only foolish but very rude. Additionally, you must be a recent follower of his blog to think a week between updates is unusual. This is nothing out of the ordinary. In fact, I'd say this is perfectly reasonable. Y'know, considering the move and all.

True.
I think he loves this game more than her. XD
(No offense Elin)

Heaven forbid Notch ever has, you know, a life. He should spend his days locked in his room, with no contact from the outside until the game is finished. A girlfriend taking some of his time? Perish the thought! No romance, no friends, only work!

Hers working on infinite maps. Also, multiplayer survival.
Calm down.
It's been ONE week.
it's not like its been a month.
He also said he will have an update out within a couple days with the spiffy new trees!
Survival MP with Infdev worlds is HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE. I was recently corrected in that the size is 8x earths surface area, i thought it was 1.8x.
We are also getting new monsters.
We are also getting magic.
We are also getting new blocks.
There's more, but I think you get the idea. :biggrin.gif:
:geek:
Those trees are a big improvement but i'd rather have caves/monsters.
And yeah I guess you guys are right, i'll give it more time :smile.gif:

Relic of a bygone age.

Actually just lock it.

/huggles those to move along
But seriously if notch is having time off let him, he's awesome and deserves it!
sorta agree there...all the work he does for minecraft + the recent move (I can tell you it's NOT fun and a very stressy moment).
besides, who knows when notch is lying on the beach somewhere relaxing, new ideas might pop up in his head...
