Hey guys, this is a city I'm building in creative, which I've been working on for about six months, but theres been a lot of breaks in between, So if I had to say the time I actually played, probably 2 months. I've wanted to build a city for the past two years, but this is the first time I'm actually satisfied with the outcome. And this is the most progress I've made in all those failed attempts, so yay! The part of the city I'm currently working on is the waterfront area, which is basically a harbor that's for smaller boats.
I'll be posting updates whenever i get a good bit of work done. Also any constructive criticism is welcome, since my only source right now is my brother, and he tries to ignore me, so yeah. Hope you like it!
For those wondering, I'm using Flows Hd resource pack, and am in version 1.10
Pictures:
The first picture is just an overview of the city.
The second is a picture of the bridge and the small island which I am working on.
The third is a office building, home of a large shipping company.
The fourth is the inside of a subway station
And the fifth is the inside of a high class restaraunt.
This seems like a really neat city and I think this is going places!
One of the main things I would say is for the high class restaurants interior to feel a little bit more cozy...Maybe put a fire in somehow or some kind of dim light?
And with the subway station, The glass panes are kind of bugging me for some reason. I don't really know what you would use in place of them, So.
Anyhow, This city is really coming along so far from the images you have posted..Good luck!
The fireplace is a good idea, so I'm going to see if I can find space for it. The glass panes could possible be replaced with glass blocks, though the're meant for a ticket booth, which is why I used panes.

Like where it is headed, although I'm not the biggest fan of having the ultra-flat world painter-made ocean, and in general waterfronts aren't on piers, but on the mainland. The waterfront in most cities is also extremely densely populated but not always by residents, also workers. That's what flows is meant for- modern building.

Yeah, im not a fan of the ocean either, but I can't really do anything either, since I actually don't have either worldpainter or voxelsniper, my only tool is worldedit, which is why it's very flat. To be honest terraforming just isn't my thing, so I try to avoid it. Also I just call it the waterfront, It's just based off what I've seen, and that was the best name I could think of for it. This is just one area of the city though, so there will be more modern sections.
Looks like a spiffy city! I'm totally digging the modern designs! Though, I can't help but notice that all your builds so far are modernized. You probably should add areas that have older architecture, or places that are not necessarily contemporary in design. That'll probably make the city feel more real. You don't have to, just making some suggestions. Also, maybe put some thought in alleys or "behind the building" areas (those trash bins and staff doors need to be somewhere after all).

This is a more modern area, but there will be an old victorian style section, and another section with 20th century and european style buildings. I personally don't like alleys, which is why I didn't include them, plus they feel out of place to me. Though I might be able to add some in another section, where it probably will fit in better.
Can you show them in default texture pack please? I'm sorry, I'm used to the normal pack.
Ok here's some, but since flows HD has different color clay it will look really weird. plus I make some block choices in Flows HD that I would never make in default

Honestly, I redid the whole river system in my world including some oceanic terraforming (and before it was a mess considering it was generated in minecraft 1.4). I didn't use the help of anything like worldedit, voxel sniper, or any third party editors since how they work is high above my head. Even without them though, I could do the massive terraforming projects I had in mind like building entire mountains by hand, so with worldedit I imagine there must be some fancy way of doing all of that to do it even faster. Also, there really is no need to vary the blocks underwater- everything being sand looks just fine. It isn't that hard to terraform too. Just avoid making things straight and you're good.
Working on the small island right outside the waterfront area that I was working on. Decided to make the islnad just a housing zone, not anything special. Currently have three houses with full interior, a corner store, and some town houses.
Also I might be making changes to one of the houses, which I really don't like a lot, but I don't know what to do right now, so I'm just leaving it the wayit is for now. If you have any ideas for how to improve the one in the back of the first picture please tell me.
Another update. I've been suffering from builders block, so I haven't been able to get as much work done as I want to, but then there's a five picture limit on the post, so I'll just show what I have.
I made two new buildings in the city, upgraded the houses on the small Island, and added a small park behind the town houses.
Also, who else thinks the back of the houses look like faces with mustaches.

Thanks! The diagonal building is also one my favrites, though the interior was a challenge

Ur using what materials for city building.?
Great stuff ! I like every building . Your sense of proportion and detail are excellent in my opinion. I look forward to seeing more .
