So I had taken a break from playing Minecraft for a while and when I came back all of the area above my white carpet in my underground build was flaming. I thought, well it’s probably a glitch the torches are 3 blocks above the floor over my white carpet and 2 blocks over the floor over my blue carpet and the blue carpet didnt catch fire. So I put out the fire and replace the carpet, 30 seconds later it’s on fire again. So I fix It again, look over at my blue carpet still 2 blocks under the torches and no flame, I turn around and my white carpet is on fire again. So now I’m getting curious, I fix it again and this time I stare at the white carpet and the torches, surprise surprise a white carpet not next to a torch burst into flames. Now I understand what happened, Microsoft is in charge and those idiots can’t program to save their lives. So if anyone has any idea how to stop my white carpet from bursting into flames that would be great. I would just wait for them to fix it but that won’t happen. I checked the update I don't see anything about changes to how fire works and this build has about 2 months of activity without this happening before the update. Guess someone screwed up, what a surprise.
As you mentioned it's underground build - are you sure there is no lava lake nearby? A torch would not set anything on fire, but lava can do this even through a wall.

Check that the area is far enough away from fire or lava.
