Am I the only one who thought if they were gonna make glass able to be silk touched, why not able ice as well?
I mean, I think it only makes sense due to them being so similar... I Have no clue how programming works
but, I just wanted to know if I was alone on this one :|
This is honestly the whole reason why I wanted silk touch ice but, If it isn't possible I won't have much
use for this anymore.
Yeah, me too. It would have been cool to have had an oasis in the nether, but it looks like we're not going to see ice that can be collected with silk touch until they also are able to negate its ability to melt into water in the nether... likely the next update (1.3.1 equivalent).
Silk touch on glass was a fix from TU12's messing it up. They didn't add anything new, they just fixed what worked as of TU11 so it works again. Ice collecting is something I very much want to do myself. We need to wait a while longer.
It's too bad, really.
So many people want to ruin the lava oceans, but can't...myself excluded.
Until then, I guess we're stuck with it in creative. ._.
(I also don't get why they don't just add something in like that, unless there is some A-B-C-D thing....)
It should work again once 4J moves stuff over from 1.3.1. Like said above, it was to stop people from placing water in the Nether. When it's re-added, It may also be changed so that all water instantly evaporates the second it's placed, including water from broken ice.

Stay fluffy~
Ice due to its very nature has less friction, so when you have a water conveyer belt things move faster when you line the bottom with ice.
