I was wondering if anybody knows why we aren't able to change settings like difficulty and switching from creative to survival mid-game? Will it ever change or is it something that won't change? Any ideas are welcomed.
We have never been able to switch difficulty mid-game, so it was really no surprise when creative was introduced that we were also not able to switch that mid-grame. I'm just guessing, but I think it may have something to do with how the game interacts with the leaderboards. It may also be that 4J opted to pick some middle ground between the two factions here - i.e. those who want to see switching of modes and difficulties completely restricted to whatever you set when you first create a world and those others who would like to be able to switch at will without even exiting the game. Personally, I like it the way it is. Exiting the game means that the switch is a conscious, purposeful action and not something you can just accidentally do by hitting a single button.
But seriously though Probably because many on here didn't want creative to affect the leader boards. So They made sure of it with creative so that you have to exit game to change that.
Now with the difficulty, I really don't know. Would be nice in the very least that you could change that mid game. Creative I understand but don't really care about. Since I don't pay attention to leader boards in this sandbox type game anyhow.
Now whether they will change this or not is up to 4J. This is totally uncertainty as they have not said much on the subject far as I know.

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.

I find it a nuisance because I'm all the time exiting my creative and changing difficulty and switching to survival to try and test things. It's really annoying now that I'm trying to make a semi-automatic mob sorter. I would at least like to change difficulty at least but a' last I don't live in a perfect world. -.-
agree with you on this, specially like you said when testing any type of mobs spawners/contraptions
Divided our words will not be heard but together we shall revolutionize the standards of the few to the many. Unite with me brother and we shall change the world.

No arguments with that. The thing with compromise positions between two factions of widely different opinions is that both sides wind up somewhat unhappy. Fortunately, I don't completely side with either faction on the switch/no switch issue, so... I get to be happy about the way it is right now.
Of the two sides, I do have to say I would prefer they move towards allowing more freedoms to switch rather than taking away the ability to switch altogether (as was proposed on another thread recently). Good luck with changing the world though.
There may also be an issue with how the system has to report stats back to the leaderboards based on difficulty levels... and how much RAM gets used to keep track of it. In other worlds, the system (in order to stay within the processing limitations of the XBox and/or Live) may have to save and "dump" the data for one difficulty before it can begin tracking for another difficulty level.
