So I spent days trying to figure out why I couldn't enchant my fishing rod because fishing a saddle was taking forever. Turns out, I can't enchant my fishing rod and saddles can't be fished yet.
BUT I finally found a saddle, after roughly a week of exploring one dungeon and finding two spider spawners and one zombie spawner... I finally found a saddle.
Now my concern is, will my horse despawn after I put my saddle on it? The last mention of this bug was 1.13, I notice we're on 1.15. Has this been fixed?
If that's the case I'm going to wait until I have a Name Tag.
Nevermind, I found the answer. Thanks a lot guys. Now to go tame my horse!
I put wood slabs on top of my fence because I like how that looks. If my horse despawns because of this slight detail, I will be starting a new world. Its taken at least a week to find this dumb saddle.
It shouldnt cause it to despawn. Pretty sure the bug fix keeps trained horses from despawning altogether. But if you want to make sure, name it with a name tag, which, of course may take as long as the saddle hunt or longer.. lol.
In reference to your slabs on your house statement, are you saying that you put your horse on top of your house and that you're using slabs for decoration and simultaneously using them as a fence/barrier? If so, keep in mind that depending on how close to the ground your roof is, the slabs won't actually barricade the horses, or any mobs, for that matter, and they may walk over it, off your house, and kind of just start aimlessly wandering about. My suggestion to prevent this is to tie your horse up to a post using a lead. That way it will just stay wherever you leave it. I have found it handy to grab and carry at least one fence and half a dozen or more leads whenever taking my horse out for a ride.. hope this advice comes in handy 😉
Before I start looking all over for a gold farm In the nether, may I inquiry if you've done the nether portal farm where they walk through, and if so, what it is you don't care for about it?
I saw the overworld nether portal farm and it looks complicated and a lot of work and I can never find decent instructions on how to build it. The wiki is just a picture and I do better with blueprint type stuff not that anyone would go through the effort.
I don't really understand why things do what they do in Minecraft but I can bake a cake. And so essentially I need cake directions.
I hosted a PC server a while back and someone built a gold farm in the nether using cobble stone, cobble stone slabs, and trap doors. Pigmen would spawn, open the trap doors, they fall, 30 levels. I wanted to do one like that because its something I'm already familiar with and it seems cheaper than an overworld farm.
Now I'm on PS4 and I think my nether is considerably smaller than PC. Not sure though, I just know I reached the ceiling surprisingly early.
Only 260 obsidian??? I'm in survival mode on hard. Pardon my language, but **** that. 260... obsidian... My nether farm just needs cobblestone... if it finally works.
I hear ya. I never made one myself. I understand your point. Let me ask around some more seasoned players and see if I can'tget an answer.
Do keep in mind that sometimes console mechanics don't work the same way they do on pc. And yes, it is super smaller than the pc nether, considering pc worlds are seemlessly endless..

I can make an overworld gold farm Matt.
I've done so on more than one occasion now. It requires a but toone of obsidian which is a REAL pain in Survival. That said an Obsidian Farm is pretty straight forward and once you get an E. V U.III Diamond Pick the 1500 odd Obsidian you need to make an efficient and effective Overworld Gold Farm takes a solid 4 hours with a couple of people!
That's awesome Odds! Like I said though, personally don't have a need for a gold farm.. though it could be handy for the sake of having a contraption.. but the obsidian part is what turned off the OP from current console gold farm capabilities... and I haven't found one other than the one you are probably referring to, with the butt ton of portals, pigmen dropping to their deaths or dying somehow with an auto collect feature for droppings..

I like to do a fence with darker wood slabs on top of it and yes it did.
I'm trying to build a gold farm in the nether now an I'm having trouble finding the exact rules in which zombie pigmen spawn, any thoughts?
Let me do some digging.

I would make a video on the one I just asked about, but I don't want to steal someone else's hard work.
Those happen to be everywhere. I would suggest checking out my favorite YouTuber's video to understand what I mean:

The basic principle is very simple.
