I have a world with alot of redstone contraptions. Every now and again i check it to see if it all works as planned. So far ive come across 2 problems.
Trap Chests no longer give signals to otherside of blocks. I had a few trap chests that triggered TnT through a block. Now the TnT has to be right next to it which takes away its hidden trap.
Also another, Pistons.
I usually have pits for animals so they dont exscape and have a piston platform that rises so that i can get out ofnthe pit when needed. When the piston is activated it just pushes me off rather than bring me up.
If people can help me with these problems, id be really grateful
I hadn't realized trapped chests didn't power a block anymore.
You can read a chest with a comparator through a block, you can rig it so that if the contents of the chest are altered at all the tnt explodes and still be completely hidden.
As far as pistons go, they cannot be used to reliably push a player at the moment. You can ride in a minecart or boat that gets pushed, but standing on top of pistons or blocks being pushed in any direction usually results in you glitching through. Curiously mobs aren't affected.
Can you show me what youre talking about with the hidden tnt?
Im a little bummed about the piston thing. It use to work without your character glitching through. I had a massive parkour thing set up and it relied alot on timing jumps and hitting a switch and landing somewhere else. But that slight delay of the glitching isnt fast enough.
I'd screenshot if I could, but its broken since the last update. I'll try to explain though.
So get your chest set up with all the tempting goodies inside and place a solid block behind the chest now place a comparator facing away from the solid block, it should immediately light up as long as you have stocked the chest. There are lots of options now. You can make it so that the tnt only explodes when the chest is empty by placing a solid block in front of the comparator and putting a redstone torch on it. The torch will turn on when the chest is empty. You can get a little more tricky by making it so that the tnt explodes if more stuff is put into the chest too. Place one extra (unpowered) redstone dust and then a repeater, now find the spot where the signal is at one and put a torch on the side of that block. Now connect the out side of the repeater and the torch together and thats your trigger line. It will turn on if stuff is taken out or added.
