Will infinite rendering of worlds be implemented in future updates? it's possible because apps like lunacraft and crafted (a terraria minecraft hybrid app that was taken down a long time ago) both had infinite rendering and were perfectly playable. lunacraft is perfectly playable with infinite rendering shouldn't pocket edition also be able to do it? Personally I think it's possible

I think its possible for them to implment that in future updates. They will probably work on getting all of the blocks, items and terrain features(strongholds, ravines and villages) in the game before they do infinite worlds. Thats how i would do it atleast because all the other things shouldnt have a impact on the game FPS wise, but infinite worlds would.

I think that they should make it to where when you walk off one side, you go back to the other side to make it more "Infinite" if you know what I mean.
I like how Kaplan says everything even though it's not really his choice, it's all Aron, even though he said it won't happen, Aron can implement it, it's all his choice, not really kaplans, we just look to him for small outlines on updates
None of you understand how this will work. Infinite worlds must render many chunks. If the xbox can't run on infinite worlds, how do you expect infinite worlds on a mobile device, which less power?
I'm sorry to tell you that Kaplan said in his AMA that they will not implement infinite worlds at any point. Sorry.
I don't think it's really kaplans decision, it all rests with Aron. As someone mentioned so even of he says that now maybe Aron will decide to make it happen. Because I've already exhausted all the resources on my world and these world sizes are small, infinite will truly give us unlimited resources and exploration

Look at minebuilder, there worlds are also like 2 mb

Than explain why lunacraft (similar to minecraft) it has infinite rendering. If iPhone 3GS can run that kind of app with infinite rendering why can't minecraft pocket edition? It is possible to have infinite rendering on iPhones so I for see why pocket edition can't have it

Wait, wha- I didnt know Xbox 360 Edition worlds were finite. Even then, I always died on my spawn point near my houses, forcing me to rage quit! (DAMN YOU CREEPERS! YOU WILL ALL GET FALCONED PAWNCHED BY MY HAND!!)
Minebuilder, Eden, Luna craft, crafted and etc, they do not have entities like drops or mobs, minecraft does, that's the point.
Your right Eden doesn't have mobs or drops, however your wrong on lunacraft, crafted, and minebuilder. Lunacraft and crafted have both hostile and friendly mobs that do drop items, minebuilder only has hostile mobs that still drop items. So they are no different than minecraft and thus minecraft should be able to achieve infinite rendering just like those games

Ur rong there i hav the latest version of minebuilder and from wat ive played both animals and monsters drop stuff and blocks and u can throw stuff from ur inventory

Hmm, I've played minebuilder and have never found an animal in it... Either way my point remains the same, they are the same as pocket edition and thus infinite rendering should be a very real possibility for pocket edition
The 360 is completely capable of infinite worlds, the specs for the 360 are that of a slightly more advanced gaming computer. My friend runs the pc version (with fancy graphics and render distance set to normal) on a crappy 5yr old 1.2ghz dual core, with 2gb of ram. Granted most smartphones don't have even 1gb of ram, but they could simply not add further render distances. And, on the point of lunacraft and minebuilder, etc. I have played both without lag on my iphone 3gs. The only problem is that I'm pretty sure (at least lunacraft) have a lower build limit and that's why the file sizes are smaller.

I havnt noticed any build limits as far aside played the game, but crafted for sure has is just like minecraft and has infinite rendering,
I think that the answer is the terrain generation, just like indev (the world generation generate till some point, after that was just flat) in pocket edition we just have a wall of the block invisible bedrock, but is infinite, we just need that generation of infdev in our phones
the world is big, but the terrain generator isn't.

If it doesn't work, blame GNU and burn it all!
For great justice!
