This is a CTM map series (if you're not aware, CTM maps are Complete the Monument maps, where, in a hostile environment, you must conquer dungeons and collect wool blocks to put on the monument). The map I have recently begun working on is titled Scorched Ruins, and looks to be an Open World style map, with a difficulty around Medium, though it's shaping up to be easier than Frigid Wasteland. I also recently released the minimap Crystallized Caverns. Make sure to give it a go!
1. Find and power the Teleportation Device.2. Find wool in fleecy boxes around the map. No using string or dye to make wool.3. You may craft the iron, gold, and diamond blocks.4. Don't go outside of the map boundaries.5. Always play on at least easy, never peaceful.6. You may use string and wool to craft other things, just not monument wool.7. Survive in any way possible.8. You may not pick up, craft, or move ender chests, or make your own nether portal.9. Do NOT use any mods or hacks.10. Have fun! (and die a lot) Easy: substantial supplies given, areas are harder than vanilla minecraft, but not too challengingMedium: some supplies given, challenging areas, not many trapsHard: minimal supplies given, very challenging areas, moderate amount of trapsInsane: no supplies given, practically impossible areas, high amount of trapsOpen World: no set path, large space to navigate, dungeons not necessarily in orderLinear Branching: areas branch off intersections, with only one area leading to the next intersectionLinear: only one way to go
NOTE: On each area-name sign, there will be a number below. This number represents the difficulty of the area in relation to the other areas at that intersection or to them all if it's an open world map. Example - an area rated 4 will be harder than an area rated 2. The number will depend on if it's an intersection (highest is usually 4) or open world (highest is 16 for 16 wools). Also, new levels of rarity on items have been added.A teal item, or "Common" item, will typically be slightly weak with minor enchants.A blue item, or "Uncommon" item, will typically be adequate with enchants.A green item, or "Rare" item, will typically be strong with good enchants.A gold item, or "Unique" item, will typically be very powerful with high level enchants, or have some sort of special attribute or effect.A red item, or "Special" item, will either be a recurring item with different power levels, or an item put in for someone or some special reason.
Now that we've gotten that cleared up, let's get to the actual maps! For all maps, I will have a standard set-up, with map name, difficulty of the map, the style of game play, a theme (if there is one), the minecraft version it should be played in, a spoiler with some backstory/lore about the map, and, if the map is a WIP, my progress on it. There will be the download link for the map below, and pictures of the map will be in a spoiler underneath all this.
Difficulty: Medium
Style: Linear Branching, Caves
Theme: Snow and Ice
Minecraft Version: 1.7.2+
Backstory/Lore:
Will you ever find him? The creator of the Synopsis, which contains all the knowledge of the universe, and ruler of the Ancients, he's been isolated from civilization for thousands of years. You know he exists, you just need to find him. As you struggle with another step through the barren, snowy plain, a crack sounds from beneath you. You turn to run, but it's too late, and the hidden ice shatters below. You crash to the ground, low on supplies, the stench of plague all around you. As you venture forth, you're attacked by a creature with flaming eye sockets, which you barely manage to kill. Is it him creating these monstrosities? Why? Who knows? The only way to find out is to move on, survive, and conquer this deep, abysmal, frigid wasteland.
Difficulty: Hard
Minecraft Version: 1.7.2+
Information:
Short and sweet, this mini CTM is a one block objective map, only requiring the redstone block to complete the monument. This doesn't mean it will be easy. With charged creepers, buffed ghasts, and tricky cave spiders, this map is a real challenge, forcing you to strategize and come up with clever ways to survive. Equipped with custom weapons and potions, you'll have to make your way through a dangerous yet sparkling cave system, where obstacles to be overcome are always just ahead.
id be happy to be a Beta test it for you if you want... Looks great!
Thanks for all the positive feedback guys!
...does anyone know how to put the banner's BBCode under the banner, without it converting into the picture itself?
The screenshots look good so far, but I have a question; are mushrooms going to be an overlaying theme of the map in addition to snow, or is that more of just the beginning of the map?

Nope, that's really just the beginning. Those are the only two areas you'll see mushrooms in, they just happened to be the ones I've finished and put up screenshots of.

Looking for a CTM map, you say? Just click on the banner and look no further!
The monument looks great, but I think that you should have more space in that cave in the picture because some people (like myah) like to create large bases at the monument. Or maybe there are more rooms?
In the new picture you have a large room with an ice chandelier, is that the Intersection?
Lastly, I don't see alot of spawners in these pictures, am I wrong or something?
(It would be an honor to beta test. If this gets to you, then sorry)

I was thinking of adding some extra rooms, so I'll get back to you on that once I reach a decision.
That area is not the intersection.
There have been pictures of an intersection (no spawners), the monument (again, no spawners), the first area (only one spawner), and the most recent has scattered spawners, and spawners in the buildings, so that's why you might not have seen them.
About beta testing...I would appreciate if you gave a little more information on your experience with CTM maps, just because I want veteran players to be testing my maps so I can get an accurate response as to what it lacks, what I have a good amount of, etc. I already kind of had people chosen (in mah brain) for beta testing, so if I find you to be applicable, then maybe next map, sorry. I would also like beta testers to have significant posts on the forums, just so I know they've been around and have been exposed to forum things, so there's that.
Thanks for asking questions and stuff, too. My thread really needs a boost!

Did you mean being able to click the pic to take you to the site?
Because you need that :3
Cool! I'll have to check to see how full my beta test list is, so I don't know if you'll be able too. Anyway, good luck on your map!
[code][code]Random Shenanigans[/code][/code]
Hope it helped
Also, like I said earlier, I'd love to beta test :3
Thank ya!
And Garb, knowing you from Monumenta, and knowing you're a good guy <3, you can beta test!
The snow blocks will change based on the theme of the map.
Nope, that's really just the beginning. Those are the only two areas you'll see mushrooms in, they just happened to be the ones I've finished and put up screenshots of.
Thanks! I've almost finished with all the areas off of intersection 2, and will be starting intersection 3 shortly.
