the grass on my current pack i'm working on looks EXACTLY like that... :ohmy.gif:
pulled mine directly from the FE7 tileset 'lightcastle', with no alterations except greyscaling it for biomes. interesting coinsidence?

updated OP--cakes have been turned into a kinda/sorta/in-the-right-light-under-a-red-moon vulnerary. the item in the items.png was altered accordingly as well.
EDIT: the 'vulnerary-cakes' are going to need a bit more tweaking--i sorta derped myself in a circle for that one.
Yeah I noticed. The torches look great. the vulnerary wasn't quite what i think you were going for. But I got a kick out of it.
i made the 'rounded' edges (i'll reduce it to one transparent pixel, rather than 6) too big and forgot to round the top of the side panels for the cake, i'll be messing around with it in the near future.

How awesome do halfsteps/lapis lazuli checkered floors look?
A. awesome
B. awesome
your choice, really.

Don't mind me, I just pop up from time to time with helpful/annoying advice.
1st Suggestion: The green floor by the throne in FE8 chapter 8 would make an awesome green cloth, and the other floor might make a good mossy cobble? the floor in chapter 14 might also make a cool sandstone.
2nd Suggestion: You should make some paintings as well. Looking at some FE maps there are some cool banners and stained glass looking windows that would make great decorations.
*edit : Also the cobble tiling still needs fixed )
*edit : One more. I think if you take some of the bow and arrow items and rotate them a few times, take away the string, and modify it a little, you could make a decent looking pickaxe.

i'll start looking for those panels soon, and the bow pickaxe seems doable, so i'll mess around with it.

okay, messing with the texture now--touching up the 'cakes' and slightly adjusting the cobblestone. on a side note--a friend of mine's working on a scale model (about 1/4 done ATM) of clock town from LoZ: Majora's Mask!
I might post it with his permission when it's finished.

TNT - a wooden block (easily distinguishable from wooden planks, made from ship panels), a placeholder for now.
wood - a brown pillar (since there are no close-ups for trees in fire emblem--NRRRGGH).
touched up the vulnerary/cake
finally finished all the (colored) wools!
Sorry I didn't crop it. But the TNT looks cool and so do most of the new items. I think you tried to make compass and clock into shields? It didn't work, they're the same as before.
Aandolaf's got a good idea right there, but I'd try and implement that as the heart system and/or when you damage a mob. Would fit better and probably not look as weird if it were used to indicate blocks breaking. And if you could get it to stay up for a certain period of time once you damage a mob..
First texture pack that's made me log in to actually post about it. One of my favorite series of games ever and one of the most under appreciated, and you're doing it justice. Pack looks great.
Also, if anyone feels like trying their hand at anything in the OP's 'Things i need to do' section, just post them here or to me via pm.
Also, I tried screwing with the items, but the amount of precision needed was beyond me.
it's probably becuase i haven't editted the animation stuff for it outside the items.png yet. that'll probably get done along with the GUI when i get around to starting on it.

"-different breaking animation (maybe an FE HP bar decreasing as you hit the block more?)"
Like this?
Not sure how the colors for this work exactly, its looks kinda wierd on certain colored blocks.
that is exactly what i had in mind! thanks muchly.
If i figure out how to apply a particle to show enemy HP, i might use it for that instead, as suggested by OctaneHUGO. i'll also be using this to show player HP in the GUI, though i've no idea what to use for the armor icon yet.

If you were not planning to do this already, but changed the shape of the swords as well, you know, to match the ones in the game. But Keep the colors the way they are.
Match the bow with one in the game as well?
And the armor too. Like base is off of different armored units. The leather might be based off of a character who wears leather armor, and each one that progresses could resemble a different kind of armor.

any suggestions/advice/questions will be addressed when i wake up, and screenshots are always appreciated.
i'm thinking about doing a custom gui for this as well, for the HP bars and such. and ideas on the subject would be appreciated.

Yes, because i made mine by scratch. The only difference is a couple pixels on the right side of the tile...

item changes:
flint - goddess artifact (the luck booster)
yellow, blue-green, and orange dyes - gold satchel, afa's drops, mine (respectively)
string - seraph robe
painting - light rune (placeholder)
compass - dragonshield (placeholder)
clock - hero's crest (placeholder)
It's based off of the 'Vulnerary' item in FE, currently.
@everyone else: just woke up, updated the OP with the new terrain and the (needs) testinging items.

I havent applied this but wouldn't this make health bars appear on things you havent attacked? That's be kinda annoying.
