So I have been making packs for a while and never run into this issue. Now when I load a pack in minecraft the bucket expire is always default and I have checked multiple times that the bucket texture is a png and in the right area this happens with every pack I use.
First, make sure you only have one pack selected at a time and that the packs you try are for the version of Minecraft you're using. Likewise, make sure you have no mods installed that might be changing how the game operates. If you're still seeing a vanilla bucket while running a totally vanilla version of the game (with official launcher, etc.) then go to the next thing.
Second, if you've done all of the above... reinstall Minecraft. Back up your saves, servers, and anything else that's important to you and then wipe your .minecraft folder completely. Re-download the game and try it again. If this doesn't fix the problem then I don't know what to tell you.

Any help is appreciated!
That's not much to go on.

I hope that helps.
