Yeah I know, I'm just trying to figure out a good concept for the ore blocks or whatever. I'm finding it difficult.
I think that I need to start an entire new palette, and just work from that, Or give myself like 4 colors per block. I usually will look at others work for some practice, but I try really hard to be original and unique. I like the "simple pixel art" style that produces a realistic but cartoony feel to it.
As for your snowy stuff, nice work. I have no complaints.
These are the only blocks in my pack that I feel are worth keeping. Everything else will be changed completely. These blocks may be revamped. I am also very behind on the game (havn't played since I left)
[EDIT] Actually, I see why i stopped posting here. My work = ugly. Hopefully I can do something new + experiment a bit.
Imnumberfour, you used to be who I looked up to in the texturing world ^^
I still like your work better than mine >.>
Anyways, I am very glad you are back and I hope to see some new work from you ;D
Hey guys!
I found that minecraft recognizes shader files inside resource packs.
That means you can make custom shaders for your pack.
I don't like how minecraft darkens the sides of blocks, so I edited the fxaa shader in my pack to brighten the game so that the sides of blocks aren't darkened, and the tops of blocks are lightened.
You can also add hue shifting to a pack with the shader.
If any of you have questions about this feel free to ask.
Without shader:
With shader:
This is in vanilla minecraft!!!
That's incredible. Where do you get this information from? Is there a page somewhere that lists out the options?
You may need to change the blend mode on your skybox though.
I´m finally done with my high res iron pickaxe after around 6 days and I´m pretty satisfied with the outcome. There are some things that turned out different than I wanted them to be and it looks a bit too lifeless compared to the sword by SiikiKala but that´s probably due to the lack of a graphics tablet.
I will most likely never touch this thing again, but nevertheless I´d love to hear any critique or tips that you can give.

That is the most realistic cartoony pickaxe that makes absolutely no sense because it's a flipping eagle I've ever seen, and I absolutely love it.
@grar
Oh god too yellow! TURN THE YELLOW DOWN SIR.
Non-dithering is hard. Dithering makes sense for a bark texture, right? I might have to toss it, but I'm fairly happy with what I've done, considering I've never made a halfway decent log texture before.
Tell me things.

Non-Dithering can't be that hard. Good wood texture as well
@grar
It's great, but it makes your log tops look like bit like, well, lemons. Colour wise, that is

Alright, I'm going to be completely honest here. That is, by far, the most impressive, most original, most amazing looking pick axe texture I have seen. Ever. In my life.
I don't even care if you used blender to make the shaded 3D model, it is amazing! (I honestly can't tell)

Well, judging by the overall style of the rest of the textures you've done, I'd say that your non-dithered bark would look good if the bark was in chunks, rather than the sort of stripy, noisy look you have going right now.
Testing new colors. I like them better now, do you?
-snip-
I like both old and new. I would actually use both, so imo, upload both versions for people. The only thing I noticed that I didn't like was the sand, at least from what I can see.
I could try this to see what becomes of it. Thank you.

I'm sorry, this just looks like iron to me. A very odd iron block...
Time to work on that 64x stuff I said I would do a while ago... Mebbe some new stuff for pixel perfection too.
bu....how da.....wa?!
too amazing you broke my brain

It's awesomeness is short-circuiting my brain.

This was a tricky one to texture. It's a 4x4 repeat ctm, so 16 tiles, but then most of those tiles have randomly interchangeable variants.
Here's the result.
Also, nice well idea ;D
Yeah, the slant is so that it spirals around the tree rather than going straight down, but the bug kind of ruins the flow.
Anyway, I'm overhauling and redoing some of my older textures. Opinions?

Maybe you should lower the fov when you take screenshots, because it looks very odd to me.
