Go for it I find paintings are not used that much, so why not give then a sort of use then? I'll have normal paintings as well, but having some as signs adds just another use for them.
Yeah, I don't use paintins in any of my builds. The only reason I haven't made paintings into something different so far is because it may look weird in a lot of builds and on multiplayer, but this seems entirely worth it. I could also make alternatives so anyone can choose between paintings and these signs.
I was thinking about this too, I'm going to do this then As a pileup, I'll made a side of plank upon the plank of the other. You'll have some pics soon to picture what I said. I think it's the same as you.
Also, I like the gradien of color of your side grass.
@samothj: I think I'll use your idea for the cobweb, it looks brilliant; i've never find how to make a cobweb on floor or on corners look realistic, and you just did. You've got pretty talent with CTM.
EDIT : I've changed the bench according to your saying, Dude. West to the left, south side to the right. It's a bit muddled, but I like how it turned (by the way, in the background there's the new CTM for ice, based on 4 identical textures turned on, like the Optifine's Natural Textures. I find this very effective with a little amount of work).
I'm just going to butt in here and say that that looks amazing.
New doors, wood too dark now lol. fairly happy with iron, still needs a "door knob"
Also some random ctm stonebrick/mossy. Looking at it now I can spot several harsh seams :/ and is the lighter mossy tile sticking out too much? I wanted some that were not as dark, maybe I should add a few more mid tones and 1-2 light ones.
Yea, they blend in with the grass a huge amount, might have to change their colour a tad. Here's a better pic of them:
Also slimes lore. (woo!)
Slime: slimes, appropriately named, are strange creatures that appeared soon after the arrival of the voidwalkers. They have a core, similar to that of a voidwalker, surrounded by a thick layer of slime, gained by their time spent in swamps. Their fascination with swamps is really quite peculiar as there has yet to be a slime that could actually survive in water. Once submerged, water quickly finds its way through their outer layer of slime, slowing their movements and eventually disabling them altogether. Slimes are most commonly found in swamps at night although they have been known to make their way down into the depths of caves as well. While not particularly dangerous, their sizes can range from quite small to as big as a man with the largest slimes being much more dangerous than the smallest.
Thanks about the better grass too, and yea, it's a shame! It's still going to be a plugin or an extra for the mod though which is nice. Just wondering, but do you know why it's getting made into its own little plugin or addon type thing? It's working fine in my test version where the algae and grass and everything is all combined into one mod...
Gratz on the spotlight too! Definitely well deserved.
Hey guys, I've decided to try my hand at texturing again. I tried to get my textures to work, but they wouldn't show up in the resource pack thing. Can anybody fill me in?
Also, in the meantime, here's a couple of things I put together:

Left: Stone;Right: Gold Ore
Well, besides changing the file structure, they changed all the file names around as well. And that's before all the MCPatcher changes, if you're into that...
Best thing to do would be to crack open your 1.6 jar with 7-zip or similar, and extract the "assets" folder somewhere. That should serve you well as a template for the new format.
They won't be cows, they'll be autonomous mobile mushroom growing tanks.
They will have glass tanks full of dirt with mycelium on top, and perhaps some fungusy looking roots running through, and of course some kind of custom mushroom overlay. I won't be using the head for this. Just the legs and body.
Anyway, i could use ideas on how to make it a bit more interesting, because right now it's just going to be a glass tank of dirt basically.

Wow, thats really clever!
I love this style. Sleek and simple.

Holy crap is that 2 colors?
Something tells me that this will be the next texture pack challenge after DB32 ends...
Sorry about the pic of the slimes, they're so damn hard to take pictures of with them leaping all over the place.
Just new potion particles and I'll be releasing my next update!
EDIT: Hoodoo, that sky looks fantastic, really great depth to it and it's not overwhelming. It's exactly how I want my sky to turn out...
Alanay, looks great as well. The shapes are really good too. 2 colours doesn't really fit well in minecraft but still, looks awesome!
Octopie, looks lovely as usual. You should try animating one of them and putting it as your avatar. Animating pixel art is actually quite fun!

Hot diggity damn Alanay I never get bored with your art. It's like they somehow get better while staying the same.
It's like this:
Awesome *stare for few more hours* Awesomer *stare for few more hours* Even Awesomer
That dithering on the planks tho. It just makes me... happy?
"these things" are pretty darn nice.
Excellent doors. No need for a knob on the iron one by the way, since it can't be opened manually anyway. It requires a redstone signal.
Whatever those are, they're pretty awesome. I especially like the uneven pupil placement on the one on the right.
Awesome job, I almost thought the skull was for Alanay lol
Also, would you mind if I make some?
These are using my palette, correct? I will add them to my forum post as a demonstration of the palette if they do

Also! Custom skybox! The mountains don't move, but the clouds do (duh.)
That's all I got for now, peeps. See ya 'round!

Haha I love the idea of the mountains but what if your on an island or in the middle of the ocean.

Anyway, here are the legs at least.
