Not happy with the door :/ tried several designs and liked this the most, although I still think the glass extends too far, and can you have the glass area stretch across the two "blocks"?
The wood is also too sporadic atm, gonna have to make it more flat and then dither it a bit, might even have to change hue and add in some more colors.
Ooh, another question, the glass is opaque on the sides, should I just make a pattern of black lines/dots and remove the stained glass in order to enlarge the transparent area?
Also have no clue what to put under the glass :/ and the door does not have a doorhandle...
Last question xD does anyone have experience with ctm doors? I would love to make lots of doors and apply a random filter, but since there are two pieces for a door, and I don't even know if doors have ctm support :/
-snip-
Hokay, first up, you need to make your 'planks' on the door more separate IMO. You have a knot in the middle of the door down the bottom, but what's to say they would use two planks from the same tree like that? It makes it seem like it's a slab of wood with lines drawn on it than separate planks. I also think it would be better if the window wasn't so off centre, looks a bit strange atm.
Also, glass can extend down both blocks, but there will be a weird glitchy bit in the join between the two blocks, visible from above. This is because the door is actually two separate blocks, not one, and so has a border around each one. So if you do want to do it, be aware of the issue and have a plank in the middle or something to break it up and prevent the glitchiness. I'm also not too sure if translucent textures work on doors so that stained glass you have might just show up white or completely clear in-game.
@kris, foliage is looking great, as usual! Can't wait to see what you do with the new textures when a snapshot or something comes out, your foliage is always one of my favourites from any pack, if not my favourite.

Needs more contrast/hue/brightness, still don't know what to put on the bottom :/ added a decorative frame on the top of the glass, moved the glass down a few pixels and reduced it to fit on the upper block. Didn't have a proper image editing program on this comp, so all of the glass is opaque atm lol, mspaint ftw.
Also needs a frame, I'l try it when I get home I guess.
I've started (yet another) pack after returning from (yet another) hiatus from Minecraft and texturing. Should really continue on one of my incomplete packs rather than starting a new one but oh well.

I like both of the stone textures if they would blend better, either of them could be used for ctm
that diagonal stone pattern makes me wonder how diagonal cobble would look. (sorry if the right/dark one is cobble :S looks like a good stone pattern to me )

Yeah, it's cobble, I think I still need to work more on differentiating it from stone. I could use it as a stone texture, but I don't really like 'lumpy' stone.
Man, so much activity going on here. I am away from my computer and was working on a ghast before I left for the weekend. Wish I could show you guys :/ suppose I will have to wait until I get home.
@maffew, Thanks! You might be able to do so
@failstoner, I don't think there are any tutorials for making cobblestone. I would suggest looking at refs and see how they do it. While still keeping it in your style. You can make cobble in many different ways.
@failstoner , I just started texturing recently, but I did make LOTS of cobble variants lol. The main thing you will have to consider is if you want tiled stones (brick style) or a more sporadic pattern, les sor more entropy? xd
Myself, I chose the more brickstyled patter, 2x4 bricks. The brick style can be mixed with the random style by placing stones in lines, a good example is john smith xD there you have a cobble pattern with lined up irregualr shaped rocks. When you have decided on this, yo'l have to remember that the texture will be torn apart and placed on stone stairs and slabs and cobble walls
A good idea if you want a somewhat bricklike style, use 2,4,6,8 etc number of stones in height. This will cut your cobble or other texture (planks, stone brick etc) in half so that oyu will have 1,2,3 etc on hte side of hte slabs or stairs.
I will try and put it up for you to see just have to find all my old cobble variants and stick them to some blocks lol, brb.
There you go
If you look at the cobble with 3 bricks/stones in the vertical row, they get broken in half and look kinda weird on stairs and half slabs. You can ofcourse fix this with ctm and connect a similar texture to the 3/6/9 stone texture you want/have to your stairs and/or slabs. Effectively giving you a #x3/6/9 stones block texture, but a 2/4/8 stairs and/or slab texture. Hope it helped :/
Ofc a texture which looks more like the vanilla minecraft texture with no apparent stone blocks is also a viable option. I just chose the organized brick style for my cobble.

Really looking forward to texturing them.
In other news I textured this little guy:
Working on the other cats now.
Also finished my door and glass.
@TWS
Looks great! Feels very Ovo-esque which is definitely a good thing. Nice colour choice too.
Also I think most of our packs are up to date now so just check anybodies really. I would suggest mine but it's the wrong res so yah.

Does it look too different from my other ores?
I know it has bad tiling, but I'm trying too see if the style is different.
Only once you mention it does it seem like it sticks out. I.E. Good job. I like it.

The creator of Summerfields did a nice basic tutorial. You can see it in his DeviantArt acc (tutorial bellow).
