I rather like the feel of the brick. Whether it's the intended effect or not, it sort of gives the impression of some sort of plaster coating that's wearing off to reveal brick underneath. As Shadow_Forge is hinting at, areas of a single, flat color are generally pretty ugly for various reasons. If you keep that style, you should still give the flat areas some texture of their own, even if it just means a little bit of noise.

I'm almost 100% positive that this have been suggested before but i'll suggest it again anyways
@Travesty
Thanks for the response. I got it working thanks to that. Just wanted to get another block finished before posting it. (Although I probably could have responded in my last post...)
@Filmjolk
Thanks for the response. Kind of got it working after Travesty's response, but I still appreciate it. Though the second file wasn't for a metadata block, it was just a second CTM method on that same block.
So, now I've got brick done and stone added.
And that is this.

It's still pretty rough around the edges, having only existed for a couple of days, but I'm curious what people think of it. With the looming worry of MCPatcher no longer being compatible due to Kahr's waning interest, starting something heavy on CTM is a bit worrisome. :/
Personally, I don't mind the flat areas of colour, its perfectly fine like that, and yeah the worry of losing ctm is there, but that's why we should ry to push that into vanilla, I used to have a large custom pack dedicated to ctm only, and I gave up (the loss of metadata was a big hit for me, and I did not recover from that), I'm also worried about losing cit, because that's a feature I made heavy use of as well

Thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately, I don't plan on removing the bucket filled blocks or adding texture to them. The idea is making blocks that have more of an implied texture rather than an explicit one by showing varying levels of detail, one of those levels being 'none'.
@Prophecy
Pushing CTM into vanilla seems like quite a large goal. Sure, we've gotten random, but I don't see them adding most of the things CTM was capable of doing, or claiming that the model system is enough somehow. I'd love to see it happen, though.
@MarkaCashion
Thank you.
Anyways, for those wondering, I'm trying to capture the idea of detail, rather than the actual visual of it. The idea is to make the blocks clearly what they are, while leaving a good portion of what is seen as nothing more than a flat colour. An idea rather cartoonish, at least in my mind.

I love the look and think it's a very original idea. Also, I like the color choices a lot. I'd love to see more!
Super interested on how other blocks such as wooden planks will look
@TheMinecraftianGamer: Looks good. Could you please post a photo of a nether fortress?
I do think your grass could use some more detail or random variants with flowers or something like that. It looks, in comparison to that nether-brick, almost like a lower-resolution texture. But I still love your pack
I'll think about adding some flowers and more detail to the grass. Flowers are going to be a rare tile, though.
The lack of pommels on the stone and gold swords makes them look a little out of place. Speaking from a functional standpoint, those weapons could easily fly out of the wielder's hand during use.
And the iron sword's blade looks a little flat. Otherwise, I like the textures.
yeah, after I posted the iron sword I noticed that... but my brother wanted to use the computer and you know, I couldn't fix it (when he gave it back to me it was 11:30...)
Use it as base, but credit me like with the iron ingot.I'll give it to you when my internet is fixed,I'm on mobile now.

If anyone else wants to use them, feel free to.
I prefered this design because... it looks cooler. I made it so it fits with itself and the normal stonebrick.

Love your bricks!!!
I like this idea for cracked stone bricks!!!

Yeah I'm playing on fast mode. Because my computer sucks.
And the reeds are green because I don't want them to be that affected by the biome colors

As for the pommels, true. I will do them.
Your creeper really looks like an animal and not just pixels.
What would happen if I used 3d models to make wheat a two block plant? would it be really weird? idk
Would love to see that!
