This is slightly off topic though I have a request that I would appreciate a response to:
To all artists who work in a pixel art style,
I am working on a major Research Project for school and I have chosen the topic of learning pixel art then producing a tutorial on it. I need some primary sources for the development of this project. I thought this would a good place to find people with developed knowledge and skills and I would appreciate it if I could Interview you by means of a pm.
The interview itself shouldn't be very time consuming, around 30 minutes to answer all questions and about 1-2 weeks until required. I will brief you about the interview, send you the questions beforehand for confirmation and negotiate how you would like to do the interview. You can maintain full anonymity in all references; I won’t even be stating that I used the Minecraft Forums for my own anonymity after the Research Project has concluded. If you are interested please send me a private message. Thank you for reading and considering my request.

I would talk to Visual Argonian, the creator of Spring Breeze, too. I love that pack.

I may be biased in posting these links, but I know there are many professional pixel artists on these 2 websites and I'm sure some of them would be very willing to help you.
Pixelation - Forum for pixel art critique. PixelJoint - Gallery for pixel art. Also has a forum, but I'm less familiar with it.
I'm sure there are more, but these are the ones I know.

Did you make pixel art for the project or was the project about pixel art as a thing?

I don't know about anyone else, but I managed to shoehorn some pixel art into a project for my textiles class last year.
It was a mandatory class, don't judge me.
EDIT: Also, a question about McPacher's grid format:
For the default grass and foliage shaders in the assets/minecraft/textures/colormap folder, can I just make them with the grid format and include properties files for them in the same folder? Or do I need custom grid shaders for leaves and grass in McPatcher's colormap folder?
Is there a way to use CTM to make double doors look different than single doors?
This is an entirely untested idea, but what if you use horizontal ctm?
Tiles 0 and 2 will be your double doors because those are the ends, 3 will be your single door, because it's used for a single tile, and 1 will only ever appear if more than 2 doors are placed next to each other, so you could probably just reuse tile 3 for that one.
I recently added some ye olde pointing hand signs to my steamy texture-pack through the paintings.
I figured it'd be easy enough, but I ended up sending a solid hour getting the pixels right. It got me thinking, what's the most complicated thing any of you guys have attempted (and hopefully succeeded!) to draw on a small canvas?
Oh and while I'm here Meapers, I personally tend to not use hard outlines on most of my tools. What I think you should do, is definitely tinge the outline to follow the shading, so that the outline is less dark on the sides with the light touching it.
So it's always bothered me that skyboxes LOOK like they're made out of a cube (which they are) when they are in the game.
I've been experimenting with distortions on XSSheep's excellent skybox (I hope you don't mind) to remove the "box" look, and I think it came out okay.
Here's what it looked like before I put the distortions: You can tell I'm looking at the corner of the box because the lines that are horizontal in the image are both angled downwards in-game
Here I have used a -80 "Bulge" effect in paint.net on each face of the skybox. This causes the middle of each face appear further away from you. Because the corners of the box are actually further away from you, this equals it out a little more and removes some of the boxy shape.
It's not perfect, but I think it looks a lot better.
So I am remaking my tools and I think I've asked this question before and that question is if I should have outlines on the items.
I like the outlines! I think you should keep them. Outlines also have the added bonus of always showing up fairly well against any background, plus you don't have to worry about your anti-aliasing clashing with the background either.

Both actually
(And I just noticed, it has taken almost 3 days to fill this one page.)
Ok, so new nether blocks, not sure if I should use that brown block as obsidian (probably) or soulsand (not very likely).
I made the image a bit too large, sorry.
No design! I like it as it

Oh my...
I've been here for a loooooooooong time.
That is adoorable, I love it.
Everytime I see your gui i feel the urge to redo mine. It's gorgeous
I've been playing around with extra metadata instead of redoing my pack's forum page like I desperately need to.
That's wood planks, sandstone, stone brick, quartz, and the ones at the bottom are leftover double slab blocks and a few dirts.
