How exactly do people layer CTM? I'd like to have all of the planks end at the edges with horizontal connection, overlayed on top of these current textures.
That diamond would be excellent if you could try to animate it, and I absolutely adore your grass
Bro, I'm colour-blind, so I often try to use a more systematic approach;
often-times I pick-out colours I thought weren't right that would've done fine
Oh, Sorry :c
Guess there's not a whole lot more I can do to try and help
Green, do you think that you could compile all your palettes in a folder and upload it somewhere, because I'm awful at picking colors and I'm mainly using colors from one of your palettes in a pack I'm making. Just a thought.
Lol, too bad I can't do much with them But If you'd like, sure.
Ahaha! I saw your other post looking for tips on creating a palette
Now, that really dark Blue/Purple (can't tell 'cause so deep); I'm assuming you'll be using that as your outline, yes? As I think the tones surrounding are too bright against it - basically, I'm saying you should maybe add another dark tone just about the outline one for each colour-set.
Also, those orange/brown ones (top right-ish); wouldn't it make more sense if they also blended towards your outline colour?
Of course, this is assuming that is what you're using for your outline.
And assuming I'm seeing the colours right, as my eyes deceive me sometimes...
The dark blue I have in the middle is my base outline/extremely dark color for any really deep shadowing or outlines for something. I adjusted the top right brown color to be a bit lighter, but obviously still darker the one below and to the left of. How I pick colors is like many other people, the darker I get, the more saturation I use, and the Lighter I get, the less saturated I get. I'm not perfectly fond of the strip all the way to the right, the transition from green to brown, but I feel Ill use some of those colors in my pack when I think about it. When making a palette for a texture pack, I keep in mind that I need colors for all the ores, the wood, logs, etc etc etc. I take all the blocks into consideration, then try to have the least colors possible, as well as having colors for every block, especially the wools.
I was thinking a very light noise to them to help with the ';furry' look. I could also do it by hand, but it end up looking the same in the end, and as this is 16x, not much detail can be done
If anything I might nudge the back shading to one side more but... that may just make the texture look lopsided.
Yes I know about the pillow shading, but these are mobs, and any other form of shading may look odd on them, that or 'flat' coloring with noise but I dislike that.
It's.... Alright...
Though the boxes... Unless that's part of your theme, remove the boxes... make the planks on each individual box flow together, and also the shading on each plank needs to end on the end of the plank itself... Not just on the end of the texture...
And try making all the planks the same size if you can... There's a slightly large plank that makes a noticeable horizontal series of lines. Hope it helps.
It looks good, but I think that you can reduce the highlight exposure a little. Also, you could try applying a low decimal offset (sth like 0.012), it will help with long distance contrast blending. Hope that helps, cheers...^^
Uhm... yeah... That... Best idea.... (I have no idea what that means)
... Why do I get overshadowed by every possible post, ever? Some attention would be nice. :'c
Gigfran, those textures are lovely. I can't much help, being a CTM neeb.... Very Sonic-esque.
These are some pretty nice cows, especially the faces. And that´s oddly a little bit rare to find these days because there are lots and lots of very very ugly cow (and other animal) skins out there - just all I want is that they look friendly, fuzzy and tasty.
But don´t you dare to remove the horns! I mean seriously, what is a cow without it´s horns? See?!
So just don´t!
Ya I know, though I am thinking of making alts for all the cows with out the udders, so I have male and 'female' versions. The faces took the most time and looking up photos for cows, That and their tush was the hard parts to do.
Kinda wish cows had snouts like pigs.
Speaking of cows, while poking the mooshrooms I remembered something... my butt ugly and very old red mushroom texture.
Really what was I thinking.
A little redo and some CTM thrown in for kicks.
ehh.. may have looked better as something higher then 16x, but it looks better over all.

I'm not exactly sure what he's saying either, but I can suggest that you town down some of the dithering, to make it a bit less rough. I think some of the dithering seems to also make little vertical 'stripes' (they're only two pixels high) that you should avoid.
I doubt you're the only one here who does that sort of thing. Besides, it's better to be odd, because being normal is boring :3

That's quite the interesting design there. But yes, it is an improvement over the previous one
You can always test your palette first, just make some random textures, and
if you feel that some colours aren't right, revise them.
Oh, Sorry :c

I like the smoother one better. The X shaped one would be good for an Iron Block though
What? How?
Still a very nice design :3

How now brown cow?
Fine normal cows..
and three mooshrooms.
Still need some work, wish I could see the skins on the models as I'm editing. Might remove the horns on them as they clip though the ears,

Think I over did the ctm for mushrooms a bit? XD

Very early WIP. Working on Birch Planks ATM. The Oak and Spruce were shown last night, too, but not in-game. (final post of 1280)
Also, that sandstone is amazing. I think the 'shadow' on the top layer, under the default-ish plate, could use 1 or 2 more colors.
Any thoughts at all on this?
