Welcome to the Official Sphax PureBDCraft HD extensions for the hugely popular Mo'Creatures mod. This extension is still a heavy WIP, but several mobs have been fully completed already. The aim of these extensions is to recreate the existing Mo'Creature textures in a comic-book style to better fit within the Sphax universe.
Unfortunately, the textures are not actually vector based (due mainly to my lack of texturing knowledge). Everything is done from scratch, by hand, over top of the existing textures. This is a HUGE project, so all ideas and feedback are extremely welcome!
I've officially received permission from Sphax to use his name in association with this extension. At some point in the very near future I will upload a link to the WIP texture pack so everyone can test out the few completed textures there.
Don't forget to check out the official Sphax PureBDCraft site here: http://bdcraft.net/
I also have to give a huge thanks to pcmaster160 and CadenDonuts over on this site for their excellent work on the item sprites and croc armor, and to Ecsport108 for resizing the completed textures to 64x!
Without further ado, I present to you the completed textures below:
Bear
Boar
Scorpions
Cheetah
Fox
Horses
Ogres
Kitties

Looking really good so far! I agree with the head texture for the bear being better, too.
Yeah the texture for the body and legs was actually the first thing I did, and by the time I got around to the head I think I had a better grip on what I was doing. That smooth texture for the head is a lot like what the other textures are turning out like.
So far the hardest thing for me has been balancing my own style with the Sphax style... I don't want to straight up copy what he's done with his mobs yet at the same time I want them to fit in nicely
That's the partial texture I've got going for the cheetah, I've really only done the head and the body, although I'll likely still be adding more spots on the body to fill it up more.
I originally had the spots as actual circular/oval spots all over it, but I changed it to the pentagon shape that Sphax uses. What do you think?
If anyone would be interested in helping, I need someone who might be able to work on the items for the mod, like the rope, sugar cube, shark teeth, etc. I have no trouble with the mob textures but my attempts at doing the items have produced.... less than stellar results
Finally finished up the cheetah, I'm pretty pleased with the result. This texture was definitely the hardest to get done; getting the sides to tile properly was pretty annoying haha
I love the look of what you've done so far. To bad I couldn't use the pack right now if it were done(stupid 7 year old computer...... Maybe when i get more money....)
Also why don't you switch to creative to take your shots... aggressive mobs don't attack you in creative...(well it depends what mod they're from)

I actually am in Creative, it seems like all the aggressive mobs from MoCreatures go after you no matter what. Just to make taking screenshots more fun
I'm glad you like the textures though, it makes it a lot easier to get through all these mobs knowing people enjoy them
Aggressive mobs that attack in creative are pains........ with those kind of mobs i would generally go into peaceful but considering what your doing that defeats the purpose...... I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with wolves...

Still not sure what I'll do with those, considering I want to keep them separate from Sphax's vanilla wolves. Seeing as the MoCreature wolves are hostile I'll likely give them a 'darker' look than the ones already in the pack.
These textures are awesome. I kinda wish I didn't play with other mods that would look like absolute crap with this..
EDIT: Actually, it doesn't look as bad as I thought it would.
I'm hoping that when this whole mod add-on is finished you won't necessarily need to have the Sphax TP to have it look good. Even though it's a more comic-book style than vanilla Minecraft, hopefully anybody wanting an HD upgrade to their mod will be able to enjoy it.
Oh, I actually liked the look of Sphax so don't feel like you forced that on me Now I only need to bribe/blackmail/force someone to do the same for Xie's mod as I myself sadly couldn't paint a white wall to save my life.
Haha that's good then
If I could texture items even slightly I'd give it a go. But let's just say items aren't my strongpoint
You could ask over at this site, they take requests for Sphax texture add-ons and they do a much better job with items and terrain than I ever could.
I would love to help make the items for Mo'creatures since you haven't produced very good results.... just I can't run HD textures on my computer
(why am I on this forum you ask then... I like seeing people's work.....) So i could probably try texturing them but maybe get someone to see how they look

Typical cheetahs, thinking they're better than everyone
Haha they're actually looking up at me. I have to use freecam from SPC to get decent pictures of the aggressive mobs, it's a tedious process sometimes

Sorry I couldn't get a better picture, I guess foxes are a little too camera shy

Also, I'm glad you like em, laijka!
