Ever wanted better lighting in Minecraft? You can't run shaders? Here is your solution! Accomplishments:
Bloom (sometimes referred to as light bloom or glow) is a computer graphics effect used in video games, demos and high dynamic range rendering (HDR) to reproduce an imaging artifact of real-world cameras. The effect produces fringes (or feathers) of light extending from the borders of bright areas in an image, contributing to the illusion of an extremely bright light overwhelming the camera or eye capturing the scene. This pack will add Bloom Lighting to the game of Minecraft! This is an add-on pack that works with normal Minecraft, as well as any resource pack! How to use:
Please Note: This is not supported on all Graphics Cards
How to use:
1. Put Pack in %appdata%>minecraft>resourcepacks
2. Boot Minecraft
3. Use or over-lay Bloom Lighting onto other packs
4. Click Super Secret Settings

Sweet i saw this in a jamziboy video and could not find it for myself. looks amazing and i can't wait to try this out. I tried real shaders once and it's so laggy so no lag = yay

I'm using 1.8.1Pre-4, btw.
Edit Again: It looks like you're basing this on the bloom shader from Will Pack, but didn't include the base files. I ran into a similar problem when developing my own shaders pack since I took Grar's work apart to see how he did some things, not realizing he called some of his own custom GLSL work as part of his shaders.

I am very curious how it is not working for you.. yet it works for me when I have a 2002 Windows XP computer...

Session log. I meant session log.
Sorry, it was like 1 AM when I typed that. I sometimes forget how to word. It is fine I am just not sure why it does not work for you
Looks quite cool! Does it bloom pixels at a certain pre-defined brightness value, or just the brightest pixels on screen at the time? (was wondering because of the sunset pic).
For some reason I haven't been able to use shaders on 1.7 or 1.8, so I won't be able to test this out. Grar's bloom shader was incredibly laggy for me, so I'm guessing this might not have been much better.
I tried it on my laptop as well. This time it crashed my game completely rather than just making my screen go black. Same thing in the log files.
It's working for me, Alvoria. I'm using it with MC 1.8.1 pre3 and the latest MCPatcher and it's working fine.
Excellent and simple to use, thebaum64, but just a tad too bright for my taste, I tend to like things on the dark side. Is there anyway of varying the intensity of the glow, that would make it a real winner for me?
Anyone who would want to brighten up an otherwise dark pack should use this though, I can't commend it enough. It has an interesting effect on my lava too, making it slightly psychedelic...more like a cross between Borderlands lava and something radioactive...a great effect!
I would love to use and recommend others who like my pack to use it if I could tone down the brightness, but in any event I would recommend everyone try it. Something special indeed! Well done.

This is technically not shaders and you won't lag like that. You should be able to run it as long as your graphics card supports it. The brightness is quite bright due it being bloom, though darkens down quite a bit at night. Torches look great at night though. (anything bright does)

I am very glad you like it though, bloom lighting is meant to be really bright (such as Oblivion or Fable II) Though, you may jiggle around the settings in the files if you would like.

I have been using this with Triton, and they make an absolutely gorgeous combination.

@ baum This pack works beautifully.
Agh, you beat me to it!
I got the shaders working on a desktop IMac I have access to. Got some nice screenshots of it along with 256x Triton... I'll put them in and imgur album and post them here in a couple hours. Baum, mind if I post the album on Triton's website?
I love how the bloom adjusts to the light level of the screen. Makes coming out of a dark cave into the sunlight look really epic!

Personally, I prefer Pixel Reality Luminance. Good job, though. That pack doesn't add as much of a glowing effect and focuses more on realistic light colors. Do you think that your pack would be compatible if placed over that one?

They are two different kinds of light depends on what you like, though they will work together, lay that pack over mine

I would love to be able adjust things, but I'm afraid I wouldn't know where to start. Any pointers? Don't worry if this is asking too much.

Glad you like it I like Bloom lighting because of how soft it is, goes amazing with a lot of packs
