So I think you said this in an earlier post, but does the 1.4.7 version contain all the latest updates?
I've downloaded it, and there are some glitched textures that show as transparent (diamond ore, birch planks, coal ore).
Correct, the 1.4.7 version does not contain any new textures. The planks should be fixed now, though I'm not sure what could be causing the problem with the ores.
I think the problem with the gravel is that it is too close to the cobblestone (just slightly smaller nuggets, very similar shade). Needs to be more distinct.
Actually, the gravel is almost identical to smooth stone in terms of color. As stated in this thread, it was originally meant to be a stone texture, but turned out like crap. So, in a fit of laziness, I just threw it in there as a gravel texture. I'll have to start that one completely over, but it should be okay where it is for now.
Finally, my bane, the organic textures, are complete! All stone-type stuff from now on! Unless I forgot something, which is likely. I've put all the new screenshots here in this post for easy navigation.
Not sure what I'll work on next, but it will have to do with subterranean passages and CTM wizardry.
I messed about today with the idea of making a 32x version, but the resizing went less than desirably. However, if there is any interest, I might reconsider.
As per usual, please bring anything broken to my attention. Especially with the thread, that seems to be having a lot of issues lately. Leave a comment with any criticisms, I am torn on a lot of things and could use some opinions.
EDIT: Just checked, and the pack has surpassed 500 downloads! Yay!
DOUBLE EDIT: Just checked again, and there seem to be quite a few sites distributing illegal copies of my pack (oddly enough, they're all in Russian). I'm flattered, but stahp.
Hate to bump twice in one day, but news! The download now supports 1.5 AND 1.4.7. Got the whole thing working. And, I figured out how to use DTD's unstitcher, which made it a lot easier
I have to say, not a big fan of your side grass texture. It looks like you just took the top grass and cut it into a shape for the side grass. Try making the side grass unique in it having the blades of grass flowing over the dirt and looking like grass growing, hanging over the edge, rather than the top grass plastered onto the side.
Thanks! Though, it's still a little wood-looking. It needs to be more clumpy. I've been getting around to that, but I'll have to redo all the CTM, which I'm not looking forward to.
Update! Not as much this go-round, but still some new stuff! Wools, obsidian, bedrock, clay, and mycelum added, gravel and sidegrass updated (though the jury's still out on the gravel).
Plus, since I'm not getting much feedback on the TAU thread, what do you think of this painting?
To do: Add the rest of the organic textures which I conveniently forgot, and fix the gosh-darned repeat textures on the stone tops.
I've finally added sand, and I've got some random textures too! I rather like them, if you don't mind me saying.
I'm trying to finish off the desert-type textures, though I'm stumped as to what to do for the carved and smooth sandstone. I'm thinking of doing a pillar-type thing for one, and some frescoes for the other, though I don't know exactly how they're going to turn out. Wish me luck!
Here are some thoughts I had on the cobble, smoothstone, stonebrick
sometimes I like to mix these blocks together. The major shade difference between them all, makes the buildings look a lil ...odd. Would be nice to be able to see these all a 'similar' shade. I personally like the shades on the cobble ( lil lighter, with a hint of grey blue?). I think that the current Stonebrick and cobble stone colours go together more so then the Stone colour.
The stone pattern would actually make an AMAZING cobble stone ( but in the shades as the current cobble). And, the stone to be more smooth stone. Maybe swap cobble and stone patterns, then wash out the pattern ( for smooth stone block). So its more of a smooth stone. ( just my opinion.).
I LOVE the stone brick style/pattern. Wool is awesome!! i don't normally like heavy texture wool. But, You def did a great job with this texture!! I also love your wood plank textures!!! The colours too ( tho they could be 1 shade lighter. Thats an easy person edit the users can change themselves tho if we wanted =D.
You've just made a dent in the pack, and I like it! I hope to see you continue to work on this pack, You def have some talent!!

You've hit the nail right on the head. All of them, actually. Here's what I'm thinking:
The current cobblestone will have to move to something else. I don't know what, exactly, but now that I see it right next to the netherrack, I notice that they look pretty much identical, so possibly nothing at all.
The current smooth stone will be moved to cobblestone, and the colors changed to match the old cobblestone. I've already got a good looking top texture that I fix with CTM (not the one in the screenshots, this one is better), so you're right, it will make a fantastic cobblestone.
I will make a brand new smooth stone, all nice and smooth (no large chunks like I've been doing all along). When I see the chunks in the wild, thy don't really look natural, so I'd like to move away from that. The colors will probably more match the stone bricks. The colors of the cobble and stone bricks look pretty good together, at least I think so, so they should be a pretty suitable building material.
The wood has been a bit of an elephant in the room recently. I made one (oak) and just recolored it to fit all the others. I don't really like this result, and I've been meaning to make independent designs for all of them, but I just haven't been able to come up with anything new or original.
So yeah. That's what I've got on my to-do list. And, of course, that's only the stuff you brought up.
Thanks for the compliment on the wool. I don't usually texture with visual aids, but for the wool I actually pulled out a knit hat I made a while ago and sat it next to me. I think it turned out a lot better for it.
Vertical CTM on the smooth sandstone. No actual texture, just the CTM, so if you're not using Optifine/MCPatcher, it will still appear default.
After having COMPLETELY forgotten about everything I said I would change, I have made 0 progress. But never fear! I shall make everything look purty eventually.
Next on the list, carved sandstone and edited stone/cobble/stone bricks. And gravel, that stuff just does not look good.
Also, if there are any people out there still using the pre-1.5 MCPatcher, and you would like the CTM textures, tell me, and I'll add legacy support for that. I can't add it to the main download, cause it will mess it all up (unlike the legacy vanilla textures, which are already in there). It wouldn't be any hassle to me, I just want to make sure people are getting the most out of the pack.
Some new sandstone stuffs (carved and smooth, both with CTM).
Cactus, sans the bottom (no one ever sees that anyway). Yes, the lack of pricklies is deliberate.
Also, I'm now using the Curse Client to host my downloads. Available here and in the OP. This means that I don't have to worry about messing up the download link if I change the file name, so I can add version numbers! Yay!
I overhauled the stone blocks, like I said I would. The old smooth stone has been moved to the cobblestone, but the mossy needs a little work. The old cobble has been scrapped, and a new smooth stone created! No shots of it ingame, but here's a conglomeration of the new ores!
Finally put in the panorama and menu buttons that I've been keeping to myself, plus a background for inside the menus!
Made good on my promise to make the woods diverse. Got a good start! Here's the birch planks, all CTM'd up and pretty!
TOOLS! WOOD AND STONE VARIETIES!
AND FINALLY! The thing I'm most proud of, the crafting table!
ISN'T IT AWESOME?!
Not that this REQUIRES MCPatcher to work.
Alright! I've been feeling creative lately, so updates should be rolling through! Only a few weeks left of school, and then FREEDOM!
Personally, the lines between the planks should be more distinct, it kind of looks like one piece of MDF, painted over with a trim around the edge...
I see what you mean. I was thinking something along those lines myself. The planks are still a WIP, though with all the work it's been to get the CTM set up, I don't know how much more of them I can take.

Added the stitched terrain to the OP.
I like that you like them, but just know they've been changed since the last time I stitched it up.
Done = Everything in this picture:
Not done = Everything else.
Not sure exactly which one you mean, but this image has the same layout as the above image, only with the default textures.
Thanks! Though, it's still a little wood-looking. It needs to be more clumpy. I've been getting around to that, but I'll have to redo all the CTM, which I'm not looking forward to.

Thank you! I thought they turned out really well, too.
And for those of you wondering, proper pronunciation is "sam-oat-jay," and the duckie stays.
Edit: HAHA! PAGE GET! I've waited so long for this.
