PLEASE USE EXACTLY 14W06B. THIS RESOURCE PACK IS OUTDATED AND WILL NOT BE UPDATED BY ME ANY LONGER. USE ANY OF THIS FOR WHATEVER YOU WANT.
I recently found a Reddit post by MrCheeze that shows a way to customize the shape of some blocks in Minecraft. I immediately decided to create a Lego resource pack, and this was the result. There is no way to modify some blocks, but it works for most blocks. (Updated to support grass and leaves.) This only works with snapshot 14w06b and above (until they modify the .JSON model format). This resource pack also works with texture and sound resource packs perfectly. You can share/modify this resource pack as long as you accredit me and do not monetize an unmodified version of the resource pack. If Mojang decides to change the .JSON model format, then I will probably not update the Lego pack. I know there is another Lego Pack by Monster860, but this one is less laggy, not a copy (I'm not saying his is a copy, I'm saying mine is not a copy of his), and fairly plainer.
That is amazing. Do certain blocks have holes on the bottom texture?
No, for three reasons:
The player would see a hole in the bottom of the block but not be able to put his head into it, hitting his head against nothing.
In a cave or enclosed area, I think the ceiling would look very ugly.
Laziness.
I could design a version with a hole in the bottom of the blocks, but I don't think it would be that nice. I will work on that and let you know how it turns out.
Edit: I tried it and the hole in the bottom does not look very nice in caves.

WOW
This is incredible! Looks a bit strange tho. heh
Maybe a more useful model modification.. Is it possible to change stairs at all? Could we turn stair blocks into diagonal slopes/ramps? If it ends up looking right, it could make for some great looking diagonal roofs!

In the future Mojang will almost definitely add the .JSON file(s) to modify stairs, but, as of 14w06b, you can only modify: cacti, crops, cross-shaped blocks (i.e. fern), solid blocks with a few exceptions, flowers, grass blocks, leaves, double-tall cross-shaped blocks, and torches. But having the stairs be ramps is a cool idea!
I would love it if you textured the blocks a bit simpler, e.g only time I will be asking somebody to do bucket fill. It would really add to the lego theme.

I second this, though maybe give the blocks a bit more of a plastic sheen, rather than a bucket fill.
Funny, they add all these new commands with so much potentail, and yet not many people really abuses them as much as they should. Then they add one feature and everyone is on to that. Not to dis the feature, it is really cool.

Download: No hole on bottom (Suggested) | Hole on bottom
Note: You must restart Minecraft after adding the resource pack to the active resource packs list.
Both of these will create moderate lag on a moderate computer, but moderately more lag with the hole on the bottom.

Grass blocks and leaves are now supported.
Snow layer top no longer competes with Lego pegs.

That is #@$@$'ing awesome.

Awesome Minecraft mod! clicky!
I wrote it manually; it's not that hard, and I prefer text-based "coding".

PS this has got to be the best feature/idea made by mojang YET
Try using the settings button on the title screen instead of in a world. i found the same problem.
