This resource pack is a collection of resources from default-like packs, giving a brighter, vivid feeling to the Minecraft world, rather than the dull, dreary feel exemplified in extreme hills and savanna biomes. It is made with PvP in mind, optimizing for fast recognition without losing the charm of vanilla. This combines resources from the following packs:

Link Removed by Plastix
Link Removed by Sn0wShepherd (sound only)
A few of the textures were slightly changed (recolor, brightening, combining parts of the same image from two packs). These edits were done with Paint.NET.
The ores are my own work. They are simply the default stone with four squares of the same gradient on top.
This resource pack takes advantage of 1.7.x's modular resource packs. If you want to use parts of this pack but not others, simply download the modules and select them in your resource packs screen in the options. The pack also utilizes the ability to customize the text displayed in menus and throughout the game. The options menu is color-coded to maximize readability and allow you to spend less time messing with settings and more time actually playing.
Add-On Packs are available for compatibility and the ever-varying style tastes:
The Vanilla Water Override restores vanilla's water texture to fix a compatibility issue with clients that lack MCPatcher or Optifine (see below).
The High-Visibility Ores make the ores big, bright squares to tell them apart much easier in the dark. This is useful for PvP and with modpacks like FTB and Tekkit, allowing the player to tell vanilla ores apart from the vast collection of mod ores quickly. These ore textures are still a work in progress.
Optifine or MCPatcher is highly recommended, but not required. If you don't have either, you will not have connected textures, randomized textures, or water that is actually blue. Instead, your water will be white-ish gook, which doesn't look very good at all. For those of you without OF or MCP, I have made a simple pack that you add to your resourcepack list (make sure it's on top) that simply restores the water from vanilla. It does nothing more than restore vanilla's water.
- Music is way too loud sometimes.
- Bed (item) needs to match the color of bed blocks.
- Make more of the textures my own original work.
- Get better screenshots.
License:
The pack as a whole is licensed under a CC Attribution NonCommercial Share-Alike Unported license. This means you may not make money of of this pack, even with adfly. This does not apply to the sound module.
Sound module and sound resources: These are the works of Sn0wShepherd, and I am not at liberty to change the license of them. Follow the terms on the SnowSong topic.
Textures, including MCPatcher resources, but not the ores: These are the works of Plastix and _zombiehunter. They both use an attribution non-commercial license of some sort. Though "Better than Default" is not using a CC Attribution NonCommercial Share-Alike Unported License, there is little, if any, difference to be noted here. If a difference is of note, consult the terms provided on the respective pages.
The ore textures and the text files are my original work. They use the CC Attribution Share-Alike International license. You are free to use and modify these for commercial use, so long as they are shared under the same license. I am not sure if this applies to the text files. If it does not, they are probably public domain, and you can do what you want with them.
Feedback:
Feedback on anything within the pack would be greatly appreciated. However, I will ignore all posts criticizing the fact that this is a default-like pack, or that this is a collection of packs that are not my original work. If you do not like collections or default-like packs, don't download them, and leave them for the people that do. If you find a bug (something looks out of place or just looks kind of wierd), please post a reply with a description of a bug, and I will get right to working about it.
Thanks. I will replace the ore textures with Better than Default's randomized ores, and leave the high-visibility ores for an add-on. Currently updating. Links may be broken until upload is complete.
Does this use MCPatcher? (And I agree about the ores, they look out of place)
Yes it does, but it is not required. All of the features of MCPatcher used by this resource pack can be done with Optifine, if you prefer. If you don't use either, I recommend downloading the Vanilla Water Override to use with this, as you will get white gook instead of water. Ores are being fixed (see above post for more info).
Update to v3.3.0 complete; ores changed to BtD's ores (more vanilla-like), with High-Vis Ores as an add-on. The "3.2.2+" for some of the modules shows that they are compatible with that version of the resource pack and later.
EDIT: I did not realize I just posted 3x in a row. I forgot it didn't combine the posts together. Sorry.
