After playing around with this pack, I can honestly say this pack has greatly improved since the original one. I like most of the new textures, and even though it isn't as "cartoony" as the old one, I still say it looks fantastic. The only thing I'm not particularly crazy about are the red bricks. Other than that, this pack was well worth the wait!

I'm in agreement. I don't really think they look like bricks to me. I'll just reiterate what I said in the old Dusty Textures thread: I feel like they looked more like netherbrick. I think it might be the color, like it's a touch too purple-y or not enough red or, rather, the red is too desaturated or something.
I love this pack and i read the leagal stuff but I want to make sure that have you permission if i can use this texture pack as my custom map's texture to download.
Toying around with new colors for the wood planks. Spruce is now a tad reddish, birch is just slightly more pale, and jungle is a bit on the yellowish/green side. I also added CTM for trunk tops:

No problem, as long as it's credited
I may also take a look at red bricks again but for now I'm going to look into finishing other aspects like mob skins and such.
Yea, I'm not really a fan of those log centres either. I can understand there would be a subtle change in wood colour for the centre but I don't think it should be that drastic. I like the tweaked planks though!
The green and red on the logs is too much, the red could work if it didn't blend in with the bark so much, and the green is just... green. Ain't nobody building with green wood.
Aye, I noticed. Already fixed in the next revision. Curse dinnerbone for doing that!
I guess I'll also take a look at the wood, it's a pity, I liked the idea of building with colored wood. Is it the wooded planks or just the way the colors blend with the log colors? Would you guys like to test-drive and see what it looks like with your builds first or what?
Dusty, y'know how in the deault items texture, there are the brown bits which appear on leather armour to show that its leather and prevent faking? Well, could you do that for the helmet of your leather armour, making the bit that sticks out on the head always yellow, no matter how it's dyed?
Well, you finally abandoned the old thread. Congratulations! I'm really happy for you. I really like the new direction you're taking with this pack- it has a darker, more refined feel to it. Thankfully, it's not so over-dramatic as most of the "Medieval" packs tend to be.
Anyway, keep up the good work! This is still my favorite pack!

In the mean time... it's been a long time coming!
but the anvil gui needs a bit of fixing:

Also, zombie pigmen:
Apologies for the crappy screenshot, squids are still as dumb as ever. So the skin image:
Looks like I'm going to have to bug Wayuki for her 3d meshes!
Accidentally made the texture for them double resolution.... OH WELL.
Anyway, keep up the good work! This is still my favorite pack!
