Please tell me what you like and, especially, what you DO NOT like. For the things that are not right, if you can tell me why they are wrong there is a good chance I will fix it, well at least try.

Bad:
-Jungle logs. It looks like concrete covered in slime
-Sandstone, despite looking nice, does not tile with one another, which looks bad
-Why is the ice opaque?
-The obsidian isn't convincing at all. It feels like something smeared in paint
-Glowstone looks more like endstone. Does not fit what it should be at all
-The ores are very difficult to identify and they clash with the stone way too much
-The wool doesn't feel right. It looks more like concrete (Unless that was the goal?)
-I was sure the endstone is actually netherrack until i checked the name
-The birch looks much too dark for what it's supposed to represent
-The pine log is too blurry and looks more like oaks (which feel more like pines).
There's more, but i didn't want to make it any longer for the time being.
To sum up, i'm actually having a hard time figuring out what is what, which is bad, though some textures are nice (Especially the netherrack, oh the netherrack, it's just so gorgeous)
Some of the things you mentioned are problems some are intentional. My premise was to throw away the Minecraft default and make textures that were connected to reality in some way.
Bad: -Jungle logs. It looks like concrete covered in slime
-You are dead right. I felt the same way but it is what jungle trees look like. I have just spent four years living in the jungle. This texture is based off the rubber tree. I will look but they all look very similar.
-Sandstone, despite looking nice, does not tile with one another, which looks bad
- I will work on it some more.
-Why is the ice opaque?
- This was on purpose as most ice is opaque. Is there a game reason it should be semi transparent? If there is I will gladly change it.
-The obsidian isn't convincing at all. It feels like something smeared in paint
- I agree. This is my third obsidian attempt and none has been pleasing to me but you have just given me an idea. Check the next release, obsidian might just be excellent.
-Glowstone looks more like endstone. Does not fit what it should be at all
- Glowstone is intentional. I wanted it to be a grainy glowing quartz. I like it but it is very different.
-The ores are very difficult to identify and they clash with the stone way too much
- The ores are intentional. The block is based from a photos of the real ores found even redstone is based on a rare copper ore (I thought that was appropriate). I like them. I will probably offer a customisation in the future to give more "standard" ore textures.
-The wool doesn't feel right. It looks more like concrete (Unless that was the goal?)
- Wool is a compromise. I wanted wool to have a texture but at x32 fine woven texture is near impossible. The texture is based off of hessian cloth, a rough weave, best I can do at this resolution. It does look excellent in buildings though (your comment is correct) with a rendered feel.
-I was sure the endstone is actually netherrack until i checked the name
- Another problem from throwing out the ideas of Minecraft default. I like the blood-soaked stone feel of the endstone.
-The birch looks much too dark for what it's supposed to represent
- The birch bark is intentional. The birch in the TP is based on Golden Birch. The bark has golden tones and the wood is a lovely aged yellow colour. I like it.
-The pine log is too blurry and looks more like oaks (which feel more like pines).
- I agree on the blurry, I will find a more distinctive bark photo as the base. The trouble is in real life the barks are very similar on mature trees with oaks being more grey based and pine more red based but almost identical in texture.
There's more, but i didn't want to make it any longer for the time being.
- more please, I am not a glutten for punishment I just want this texture pack to be as good as it can be.
I see, fair points there. Can't say i agree, but they make sense.
Moving on:
-What is soulsand supposed to be? To me it looks more like IRL clay (The actual clay looks fine though)
-Just noticed the ice has tiling problems (And to answer the question - No, there are no practical reasons to make ice translucent, but when it's opaque, it acts weird around water, namely, the bottom turns invisible when underwater,)
-I think the gray area on disabled glowstone lamps should be darker. It's probably not realistic, but grey next to colors looks weird
-The cactus top/bottom needs to be 1 pixel smaller
-Mycellium doesn't tile very well
-Just my personal taste, but it think the 'slot' on the redstone repeaters should be uniformly dark
-The tiles on the crafting table would probably look better if they were exposed more (more contrast)
-Dyes and wheat (item) have some excess white pixels around it (Items in MC don't recognize partial transparency, everything has to be either opaque or completely transparent
)
-The minecarts, boats and chainmail icons don't really fit the rest of the pack, i guess they're placeholders.
- The Soulsand was supposed to look like sand heated by lava. I'll try and make it more obvious.
- fixed the ice tiling.
- fixed the glowstone lamp - off
- fixed the cactus
- fixed the mycellium tiling
- I darkened the repeater slot. I agree it looks better now.
- I'll work on the wheat and dyes. I agree these are problems.
- I can do chainmail but it is not used in the game (really). Do you think it should be included?
- Please expand on your boat and mine cart comment. I hoped the boat looked OK (not great) and I don't like the cart so more is welcome.
I cannot thank you enough for taking a hard look and providing these comments.
I liked the pack mostly. My main issue was that I found that the diamond images were too light and as a result, blended with the mid-yellow background too much.
Just so you know the 1.3.1 version of this fantasic texture pack (I know I am modest) has been available for a while. Just in case you you have not looked recently Also I am thinking of doing a tekkit extension. Any opinions?

(koo-star-neek) The real numbers are countable and I CAN prove it. Cantor was wrong!
I noticed you broke up the brightness of the yellow gui by texturing it a bit. Very nice
Also I have kept forgetting to mention Frank Lloyd Wright and your homage to his art, I had the opportunity to stay at the Biltmore Jewel in Phoeniz, AZ and to stay in a place that was heavily influenced by him and is pure art was simply amazing. Had some amazing textures!
I really like it how you're trying to make it as realistic as possible, instead of based on vanilla. It's harder for a drawn pack-maker, as a photo pack isn't questioned. They are just photos. But when you draw something like this, people think that they should point out the differences between this and vanilla.
(No offence meant towards Balduran)
Keep it up. This is an amazing pack.
Oh, and Tekkit support would be great! I'm a big fan myself.
Wow, this texture pack looks really good in the screenshots (and the premise itself is good). I am going to download right now, and give feedback (if I can). I do have a suggestion. I understand you want people to download the pack for themselves and explore it fully, but I think you should put up a couple more screenshots on the front page. They (the screenshots) would be of very specific types of things (ores, armor, nature, etc.) in a natural environment, so they are a little better informed on the pack beforehand. Thanks.
@Balduran- Thank you for showing me that there are still people who read through an entire post and give thoughtful feedback when possible. All of the people on this topic so far are very nice.

I will add more photos. Good comment. However I will wait until the HD item edge render problem is fixed ATM everything looks way too ugly.

Hi Everyone,
This is a new beginning for Kyctarniq's. Release 1.17 drew me back to Minecraft and texturing. So much is new and so much has changed.
This is my personal pack. It is meant to create a calm and predictable environment. I hope you like it. I do

and, Thank you for the compliment Brickmick
I have implemented most of Baluran's suggestions and thank you for the compliment Poly_G.

teaser: I like tekkit
All fixed. Thank you for catching this
