It's not that noticeable, and it's not like we're going to be staring at the bases for any appreciable amount of time.
the thing is, it annoys me, and i think it may be a bug, since im pretty sure its supposed to take the side texture from the outer rim of the texture. as you can see, the 2 bottom rows of pixels line up on all of them, and that's taken directly from the border, but beyond that it stops making sense.
I freaking love this texture pack. As soon as i saw it, i just fell in love with it. If i could give a few suggestions:
Paintings: Perhaps you could make one of the paintings into torn and ripped curtains? And one more thing, one of the paintings might be a bunch of boards, to cover something up, like a broken window or a hole in the wall.
Sponges: Perhaps you could turn Sponges into something like Refrigerators, a Sink, or maybe even a broken computer?
Crafting Tables: Perhaps the crafting table could be made mostly from wood, with bits of machinery here and there to emphasize the "crafting" idea.
TNT: Along with the "Hobbled together" theme, i think TNT should be made into a makeshift explosive, like it was made by a terrorist or something.
Pumpkins: If you didn't know it, pumpkins can be worn on your head, and the machinery look makes it feel kinda like an actual helmet.
Armor: Leather armor could look like clothes that were found here and there, like the Leather Cap could be an aviators cap with goggles and a mustache, the Armor could be a stained and/or torn jacket, the pants could be heavy-looking trousers, and the boots could look like... well, boots. And, the coloring should be different on each one, to emphasize the "These items were found in different places" look. Overall, this would be sort of a "I make do with what i have" look.
Iron armor could be a type of mining suit, with maybe a construction helmet with a broken light and a breather mask for the helmet. The chestplate should appear like some kind of protective gear with little pockets all over for the front, and one or two oxygen tanks for the back. The pants could be brown or maybe maroon, and have a lot of pockets everywhere. The boots should be made out of some kind of resistant material. Overall, this would be a set of standard (But used) mining gear.
I believe that Golden armor, because it is gold, should be a set of luxurious (but worn) clothing. Perhaps an expensive-looking shirt for the chestplate (Like it's made of some high-quality fabric), expensive shoes for the boots (Maybe leather shoes or something like that) a set of expensive pants (With an expensive-looking jacket tied around the waist, possibly) and either a nice hat or a 1700s type wig for the helmet. Overall, this would be a "I'm so rich that i wipe my butt with dollar bills" look.
Diamond Armor, for me, has three kinds of appearances.
1. The really, really useful power suit. Prominent are steam powered equipment, small steam pipes, hard-looking material, and pockets with supplies. The helmet would be some kind of protective helmet, with hard looking material, sensory equipment, and a breathing tube connected anywhere but the top or the bottom. Also, some eye slits and a steam pipe or two wouldn't look bad. The chestplate would have technology galore, with a few supply pockets across the chest. Steam pipes and equipment should be prominent. For the leggings, they wouldn't have so much of a techno look, but they would have steam pipes going down the legs to the feet. Supply pockets should be everywhere, with a utility belt across the front with stuff in it. The boots could be some kind of sound-dampening shoes, with gadgets around the sides and a steam pipe on it that connects to each gadget. (This is what the steam pipe on the leggings is for.)
2. The "spy" look. A sort of dark-colored appearance would go well. There could be a set of modified headphones with a boom mic for the helmet (Possibly with broken glasses), a bullet-proof vest for the chestplate, some pants with supply pockets here and there, and some leather boots.
3. Some kind of "cyborg" look. Steam technology could be mixed with tubes of blood going here and there, an exposed organ or two (Maybe contained in glass), and tons of steam technology. The helmet could be some kind of technology drilled into the head, and one eye could be replaced with something. The chestplate should feature one side with average-looking clothes, and the other with steam pipes everywhere. The heart could be shown in a glass box, and could be hooked up to steam pipes. Also, place gadgets on the lower torso, the middle of the body, and right below the heart. The legs could be part pant legs, with the other being another pant leg that is torn open, revealing machinery and technology replacing the other leg. The shoes should be just normal shoes. Also, if the skin around the machinery appears pale (With the skin right next to the machinery look decayed and rotted), it would make it look more like a cyborg.
I'm not sure what to do with Chain armor, but maybe you could turn it into a steampunk-style set of clothing, or maybe a trench coat.
Redstone Torches: Since Redstone Wire is now Steam Pipes, maybe you should make Redstone Torches into a boiler or a steam generator. PRETTY PLEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASE???????
Buttons: I would love to see Buttons turned into doorbells, or some kind of stained button.
Levers: Perhaps Levers could look like adapted and modified car gear shifters, or faucet handles.
Cake: PLEASE don't make cake look like anything techno. Make it into something that looks like it was made in a hurry, like a spongy-looking cake with frosting thrown on top of it.
Netherrack: I know this will make the Nether look extremely weird, but because it stays on fire forever, i would like to see Netherrack turned into a sideways log.
Ender Pearls: Because Ender Pearls teleport you, can you make Ender Pearls look like teleportation devices?
Eye of Ender: I would like the Eyes of Ender to be turned into some kind of weird-looking power source. (See below.)
End Portal Frame: Could the End Portal Frame look like some sort of weird techno thingy? It makes the portal to the End, so i think it should look like it is really powerful, and needs to have a lot of technology. Plus, the Eyes of Ender (Which could be turned into strange-looking power sources) would power the end portal frames.
I have more suggestions, but i will post them later, to not make your eyes bleed.

well, to reply to each of those...
paintings: i do indeed plan to add thematic elements as most of my paintings. definitely curtains, and a few clocks. and of course some actual paintings... my own coffee paintings for the larger ones (edited to fit the pack of course) have a look... http://13thmurder.de...allery/24645827
Sponges: i already have a plan for these, they will be drain grates which will also work as vents. ill use random ctm to make a variety of designs and materials. or maybe classic ctm (if i can figure it out) to make large vents like you'd expect to see in a sewer or secret underground laboratory. however, if you go back a few pages, my cauldrons look more like sinks than cauldrons anyway.
Crafting tables - already done them, go back a few pages for screenshots (i typically only update the screenshots section when ive released a new test pack, which is every few months... bad habit) but its pretty heavily mechanical actually, but still somewhat jury rigged looking. (mismatched parts and such) and just a bit broken. have a look...
TNT: also already done. However my TNT block doesn't fit with the theme of the pack intentionally. My pack will have a lore with it, one that is currently only in my brain, but basically the gist of it is that scientists created an artifical particle known as a chronoton which could essentially effect time by temporarily redefining planck time units in the area they were in. however these were very unstable, and depending on what the particle's charge was it could actually reverse, speed up, slow down, or stop time. the TNT was a science experiment gone wrong. it was a high explosive device meant to disperse chronotons in a controlled way so time could be effected over a large area. unfortunately they were... abused somehow. tons were set off at the same time around the world. basically re-writing time in the wrong order, then bringing about an apocalypse,, and eventually (or perhaps almost instantly, it really is hard to tell considering the circumstances) the chronoton particle's effect wore off after the chronotons themselves lost their charge and synchronized with real time and events started happening in the right order again.
this is the tnt:
Pumpkin: indeed, the fact that its wearable is what inspired the design.
Armor: when it comes to leather, that was EXACTLY my plan. right down to the aviator hat/goggles and moustache. were you reading my notes somewhere that i forgot about? i know i mentioned wanting to add moustaches to armor, but i cant remember where... but as for the other varients, i like it. a lot. gold can be a fancy pinstripe suit perhaps... and a steam powered cyborg suit would be awesome.
Redstone Torches: Way ahead of you on that one... thats exactly what i did.
Buttons: Unfortunately buttons dont actually have their own texture. they simply take stone's texture. but i may be able to do something about that with some highly advanced ctm wizardry... maybe. ill have to look into it, but theoretically, using ctm's random function any model should be texturable separately. i know fences are.
Levers: already done them, they're boring wooden handles with gold ornateness. i might redo them to look more industrial and work as faucets though...
Cake: i was considering doing something ridiculous and a bit sinister... maybe a inconspicuous cake-like cake, but in the cut section perhaps there could be a creeper eyeball or something. and perhaps it will blink.
Netherrack: my nether, for some reason beyond even my own comprehension, is derelict hospital themed. netherrack is actually biohazard boxes (the kind they stick needles and other medical waste in). i thought it was suiting since they are incinerated. the nether is the biohazard material dump. you should see my lava. its sickly yellow and the particles that hop out are eyeballs. soul sand is actually assorted organs piled together.
Ender pearls: seems like a good idea to me.
As for the end in general, i have no ideas but ill figure something out.
Thought I'd drop in, Jester and give you some support before I go off on my travels.
Lovin' all the crazy animations and ideas! In particular the espresso brewing stand is just pure genius. You've been amazingly busy, but it looks like your havin' a lot of fun too.

thanks, i appreciate it.
in all honesty, the espresso machine brewing stand was one of the very first ideas i had, before id even decided the theme of this pack. good thing i waited this long to do it though, i probably would have screwed it up pretty badly had i done it back then. i had no idea what i was doing when i first started this XD
please change the wools for different types of materials , i have some textures in 16x16 of some blocks made for me if you want some of them and make leaves instead of "paper leaves" (may be you use any kind of wool for the paper leaves). Sorry if my english is bad , im chilean, thanks and nice texture pack!!

no, that wouldn't work... im not going to make the paper leaves into a wool varient, they're leaves. they go on trees, and thats how its going to stay.

//i.imgur.com/tNjPW.png" width="" height="" alt="" />" width="" height="" alt="" /> //imgur.com/tNjPW" target="" data-ensure-absolute>" width="" height="" alt="" />do you like the idea of this for a metallic block (like for a refinery) and if you aprove the idea of a lambda block (and i know , is ugly but i love half life)
Believe the false leaves are staying. They represent the core theme of the texture pack, and changing them to real leaves would harm the pack more than help it, at least thematically.

i might redo iron eventually into something like rusty diamond plate. its a bit messy atm.

I really love this texture pack but the leaves DO start to bug me after a while. I understand that this is part of the lore but it is the only bad thing about this pack, at least in my opinion. If you were to create an alternate pack containing what could possibly be dead or dying trees I would love you!
I can't wait to see how this pack develops.
i only want the paper leaves to be on birch. the problem is oak and birch share the same leaf texture, however i do believe its possible using ctm to separate them, and when i figure it out only birch will have paper leaves, and ill come up with something for oak (that is actually leaves) that will work as a nice transition between the paper birch leaves and the green leaves on the other trees. it will smooth things over a bit, but keep the surreal atmosphere.
i was thinking dull rusty orange leaves might work... maybe even make oak into some kind of dark twisted maple? maple trees growing apples makes about as much sense as oak trees growing them, and they might taste better off a maple tree.

This. One thousand times this. It would fit in perfectly with the theme of the pack and its unique visual style, not to mention being beautiful. Dark, twisted, and beautiful.

exactly. now, i just have to figure out how to make a spiral tile vertically... shouldn't be too hard if i restrict the curve to a divisible number of pixels in height.
also i fixed the glitch with the lid/rest of the chest's seam. turns out a row of pixels on 2 different parts needs to match... ah well, i fixed it. its harder than it sounds, smoothing it over...
also, i added the belt on the back where it belongs, and gave it a hinge. what was holding it together before? who knows...

aside from the top back needing the belt applied to it (heh, missed a spot)
what do you think?
...doctor who reference? where?!
YEAH CRAFTSMAN :DDDDDD
i might redo iron eventually into something like rusty diamond plate. its a bit messy atm.
no. never. stop asking.
maybe for oak once i figure out the ctm issues with it, but for birch its staying.
EXACTLY
you truly do get it.

we shall call them... mapples.
also, i added the belt on the back where it belongs, and gave it a hinge. what was holding it together before? who knows...
this.... is only the beginning!
well, ok perhaps its actually closer to the middle, but there's tons more to come. it will be much more amazing.

also, signs.
too simple? or will it work?
