i did my enchanting table side animation... what do ya think?
the noise is a bit odd i realize, but i can't really make it seamlessly flow without making a whole lot more frames. maybe i could use finer noise, and tone it down, or maybe i could somehow make a mobius strip of noise... a digital mobius strip... somehow. no idea. maybe its not a problem. is it?
Oh, as long as they're colored like the original wool I'll like it. I just hate logging on to a server and seeing a giant statue of a person, and instead of seeing the colors that should be there you see a giant blob of stuff. Albeit, I can tell this probably wouldn't be the best texture for logging on to a server and understanding exactly other people are making. But I'm not too disappointed and I can't wait to see what you do for tools and such.
SItting here seeing all the new updates and completely wigging out waiting for the next release. Seeing all the new textures for the defaults in my version is making me neurotic, I swear.

the next release is going to be a really, really big one XD
i have the flu currently, so im not really up to texturing :/ plus i just got a job. worked one day, and got the flu. luckily for the texture pack progress, and unluckily for me, im quite sure ill be getting fired for this. calling in sick for a week after working a single day at any job can't possibly end well.
i have a few ideas lined up for when im better at least.
i want to CTM the redstone pipes a bit to have some that are patched up and dented...
the cauldron will be a dirty clawfooted sink
not really sure about piston design overall, but the sticky one will be a suction cup.
i could use suggestions on the boat, minecart, and track textures.
Finally back from having a 2 and a half week long stomach virus. well, ive been better for a few days, and working on this... yep, this took me about 5 days working on it total. it was actually ridiculously hard to time out all the frames right, and well... figure out exactly how i was going to do it.
its the enchanting table top. too bad this texture is covered by a floating book. how would you feel about a book-less enchanting table?
see there? its sort of like an analog computer. the green balls are information packets, and the red things are readers.
here's what it looks like together:
thoughts on this? i was thinking of maybe removing the book completely, or maybe making it into some kind of moving arm device instead.
I like it. It's an actual table instead of a slab with a book on it, which most other texture packs do.
What are you planning on doing for the runes that float form the bookshelves to the table?
Also, glad to see you're back. Was getting worried.
i'm not sure what ill do with those, but i was thinking of making the bookshelves appear to have something that dispenses whatever the floating things are. as in... the book shelves have a sort of book scanner, but analog.
Think I'll be adding cauldrons to the houses in the city I'm working on, now. I checked the nether brick fence post and it's pretty close to the cauldron texture, so I could see it working as piping. I noticed in the OP that you were thinking about making the Nether brick blocks look like rusted metal. Do you plan on changing those textures?
Don't mean to sound impatient, but when can we expect a new test release?

the nether brick was originally meant to be rusty metal bricks when i was making it, however i decided to go a different direction half way through, however you can see rust dripping down from the top of the bricks. but its just grime now.
anyway... as for the next test release, i really can't say. i have a job now, thus less time to texture, but more time to think.
here's a list of the textures i still need to do before the next test release. i try to do at the very least one per day, sometimes one will take me a few days if its really complicated. being sick for 2 weeks really slowed me down, then i spent another week on the enchantment table, so that's 3 weeks there.
Redstone:
Add grit to redstone pipes
Appliances:
Sticky Piston
Piston
Brewing Stand
Etc:
Spiderwebs
Bookshelf
Signs
Wool (some colors are already done)
Chest
ill try to have the next release out in under 2 weeks, and i feel like im overestimating here, so probably less. maybe ill get a ton done this weekend.

this is the new cobble:
i plan to redo gravel and dirt too, and some kinds of planks.

but the question is, are they creepy?
While that may be a question, that is not in question.

The minecart could look like a rickety minecart that might fall apart.
