I dont like the stone texture, seems very ugly. No offense other than that it's coming along great
None taken, those are the kind of comments I need. I've always worried if the contrast was too high on the stone/cobblestone/ores. In a few minutes, the next update will have stone with less contrast (which actually makes the ores a little bit more visible).
With the lower contrast, though, the cobblestone blends really well with the stone. I think it looks really nice, but would like to know if anybody thinks more difference between them would be good. Right now the transition is pretty darn smooth, if I do say so myself.
Yeah, wool looks kinda lame in this texture pack. I almost always leave it as normal in texture packs.
Imagine a Mario pixel art with those blocks.
*shudders*
Yeah, well, the goal isn't to be nicely supportive of pixel/voxel art, the goal is to make use of Mario blocks and textures and avoid default textures unless it begins to look bad. If you want to make voxel art, by all means edit the terrain.png and replace those wools.
If I see demand for this or any other kind of change, once I release the finished version I'll also provide an alternate version or two of the pack.
Imo some of the other Mario Texture Packs were a bit better because they got really creative with the items, but the items didn't really look good. Yours actually looks really nice but if you changed more of the items it would be really cool.
It's a pretty nice texture pack. I had to try making a little Mario level with it. :biggrin.gif:
Neat! I'll almost certainly end up changing the wool blocks to be "?" blocks so the classic item block can be had. The "!" is a disappointing substitute.

That's why I'm going to be working on mostly items now. The visuals (terrain) are pretty much done, so items are the next big deal. Sadly, not too many will match well with mario items.

Slightly different change happened - wool blocks are still "!" blocks, but now all ore blocks (gold, iron, diamond, lapiz) are different colors of the "?" block for a better Mario feel.
Turn zombies into koopas
Turn skeletons into piranha plants
Turn spiders into goombas
Turn creepers into bomb-ombs
Let's see, I'll address all of these:
1. Chickens are already koopas, but there are a couple different colors. I'll see if I can make anything look acceptable.
2. Skeletons are already Dry Bones, though it's really hard to tell. And I don't think an arrow-shooting piranha plant would look good.
3. There aren't any goombas in this game (very disappointing, I know). There are small blue-shelled things I could try, though.
4. Seems to be a popular idea. I'll probably give them a bob-omb head and figure out something for the body.
This looks like it's gonna be a good pack when it's done!
Thanks! There are just a few more items that I'll probably change, and another mob or two and the chests. After that, I think it'll be about as far as I'm comfortable going. I don't want to have to pull imaginary things out of my butt just for the sake of creating brighter items.
I love you too, jakus12!

Great, I'll add this! For some reason your leaves and biome grass aren't working properly, I'll see if I can figure that out.

Hooray, a mod support request! I'll definitely go take a look at the mod and see what I can do.
EDIT: I don't think there's anything in this Mario world that I could pass as a portal gun. If you've got an idea, let me know.

Check out my epic Request!
Of course! I haven't been using this pack since the update so I forgot to check compatibility!
