I have taken the best of Gerudoku, Rozz, Runesmith, and probably more... And finished a flawless 1px border icon set that is... I think... 1.5_01-ready!
Credit is due to the original artists. Gerudoku was an expansive community effort and remains so to this day. This pack borrows heavily from many artists' efforts on the Gerudoku 32x32 items.

Jademalo has an incredible new classic Doku pack entitled Jadoku. It's not completely finished, but...
It features the new Flawless Gerudoku items!
I post this in the hopes I can get some attention for her pack:

I need your help! Im not happy with some of the textures. Mainly the Nether textures, the Lapis Block, the saplings and the lapis ore. If anyone is willing to give me a hand in creating some new textures for them that fit in with the original Doku's style, I'd really appreciate it.
Im also looking for someone to help complete some of the missing things in the pack. This includes items, Mob skins and the Minecart, since im not happy with the current skin. These are not as high a priority as fixing the terrain, however.
I feel this set really takes advantage of the 32x32 area:
Sulfur Gunpowder has a slightly smaller icon.
Sugar has a relatively small icon.
Eggs have a relatively small icon.
Apples were shrunk.
Snowball was shrunk.
String was shrunk.
Cookies are nice and tiny.
Paper is slightly smaller and paper-like.
Future:
Overhauling items as it becomes clear they do not fit the overall style.
I'm very tired tonight. Credit is due to the original artists. I spent many an hour creating the perfect item sizes and 1px borders, as well as keeping the default minecraft color scheme on the tools and weapons.
[*:1gyhj5gs]Major change to Iron Tools. Shinier.
[*:1gyhj5gs]Major change to Stone Tools. Less colorful.
[*:1gyhj5gs]Clay is now blue-grey instead of orange.
[*:1gyhj5gs]Bed is done.
[*:1gyhj5gs]Boats are bordered. (minor detail)
Notes
[*:1gyhj5gs]Sticks do not need a 1px border.
[*:1gyhj5gs]Sign does not exactly fit the DokuCraft pack.
[*:1gyhj5gs]Wheat is odd.

You call this giving "credit"? I see way more then what you listed.. One being Gerudoku tools. Also, did you get permission? Like actually ask the maker of all these things before using them?

I don't think he did, the creator of gerudoku wouldn't of let him!
Alright. I'm sorry if you feel I've somehow stepped outside the realm of acceptability. You are free to be against this icon compilation, and I won't deny you that perspective.
But with that said, I do believe you are making some mistakes:

Taken directly from the forum rules:

I put the important part in large letters. I am not representing any of this work as original. It is "copied", then altered. I also added 1px borders and made icons smaller and changed colors.

Yes, it is giving credit, in that I am not taking credit.. Gerudoku isn't a person. No, I didn't ask Doku, as he has made it very clear that his original pack, and its evolution: Gerudoku, are open to alteration. Gerudoku is "no more". Its creator has announced that anyone who wishes may re-interpret it or attempt to update it for future Minecraft versions.

You're all free to bump my post with more complaints. You can do anything you want.
It's no secret why ANYONE posts ANYTHING on this forum.
To share art.
If you want it taken down, that's fine. I'll still have it to use, and anyone who liked it will have it too - which is exactly why I put it up!
I tried the pack out, and I actually like it a fair bit. I don't know why people are giving you so much ****, considering that hundreds of people have taken packs and combined their favorite elements about them, especially GeruDoku.
In summary:
- Well done. The pack is very nice.
- Haters gon' hate.
I don't have a problem with compilations. I do, however, have problems with people who break the forum rules and show no regard for the feelings of the original artists; many artists don't want their work used in compilation packs, and it's very rude to just take their work without asking.
Special thanks to Jademalo for updating to 1.6.4 so quickly! We have a map and a new cake!
Visit her pack, Jadoku!

So long as we're being technical, I don't think "take" is the word you're looking for.
Perhaps "redistribute". If there is a rule against redistribution of any kind, I'm going to go out on a limb and say this:
I believe in the original authors' wishes for their works to be redistributed and altered, so long as credit is given.
The authors are fully credited.
Merely including work from other people is against the forum rules.

I'd be happy to post a comparison of my icons and the Gerudoku icons.
PLEASE DO SO, FROM WHAT I AN SEE THE MOST IMPORTANT ITEMS AREN'T THAT DIFFERENT AT ALL!
=\ I can't imagine you get your way very often by posting in caps.
LOL, SORRY ABOUT THAT - i didn't mean to

[*:u41jpada]Slime-ball is in!
[*:u41jpada]Added armor comparison image.
Notes
[*:u41jpada]I'll be sending out a few PMs to get "permission" to "host" this altered Gerudoku item sprite texture.

There, remove the first sentence and you have what's actually relevant. Please stop trying to find loopholes and twist things.
This is an awesome item compilation. I'm using it in Dokucraft while I wait patiently for Doku to finish his item update.
Thank you :smile.gif:
Thank you all for the suggestions, feedback... (and praise) :biggrin.gif:
