Wow, i really dislike the new forum layout >.< But i do like the fast reply option.
I do too, can you even tell if/when a post has been edited?
Anyways, your pack is pretty slick. A couple thoughts on it...
I found it hard to distinguish the blocks, even after a couple hours I found myself getting confused. I know now the ore blocks are indicated by a lighter corner on each box on the grid. I was thinking maybe if the ores used a different size grid, it might be easier to tell what's what.
Something like this on the left vs the original on the right:
I tried this in game, and it seems a bit too much red. I might mess around with other options later.
Other thought is, and this is probably a bad idea, but the tree transparency is very prominent, and causes a strange look/shimmering effect at medium and long range. Have you tried a thinner line of transparency? Or maybe a solid block similar to the grass? Maybe not a good suggestion, but I find the way it is now very distracting.
I like your idea of the ores being in a different sized grid, and I might just do that later, when I find the time. As for the tree transparency thing, if you switch to fast graphics, then the leaves are full blocks. I just wanted to give the people who try/use this pack a choice between the two. :smile.gif:
-Grass: Now dark green around the light green grid at the top of the block) -Redstone: Fixed graphical bug that would happen when placing the redstone down.
I also added banners! Feel free to have them in your signature! Your support is GREATLY acknowledged!! See bottom of original thread post for banners.
It looks very nice. I wouldn't even know how to start doing something like thise. Pictures of your updates please =)
Yeah, I think that next time I update the pack, I'll include the terrain.png in the main thread, and update that along with every update of the pack itself. Updating the other pictures as well would just take forever.
Congratulations!Trees are stunningly beautiful with these dots. They give them a VERY SPECIAL and UNIQUE EFFECTS and so they make me want to climb on top of them and play king of the jungle. Grassland looks absolutely beautiful, but the desert looks better and I have to agree that you should try at least to make all blocks (grassy blocks for start) as great as the desert looks just like you already mentioned before. To sum this all up, you are the "Doku of DotWorld".You have a treasure in your hands. Need a hand or two?
Thank you very much for the kind words :smile.gif: I will do my best to make every block as great as possible! :smile.gif: And you'd be more than welcome to assist in improving upon the pack. Just let me know where you would like to start ^^ And of course you will get credit after you have contributed :smile.gif: Right now, I am still waiting for Nurik's items.
Updated the thread with a minor change:
-There are now THREE download links. Please use the first one, as it shows your support and really helps getting the updated pack out there faster. You only have to wait for 5 seconds before it takes you to mediafire where you can download the texture pack! :smile.gif:
