better grass makes the sides of grass blocks have the texture of the actual grass, if there is a grass block right below it. so hills will be completely grassy and cliffs will still have the default sidegrass. I recommend using better grass. it looks very nice, IMO
when using the mac version of mc patcher all of my texture packs in my texture pack folder refuse to even display in the texture packs menu of minecraft
heres the copy of the log file

the texture packs in question are all three versions of LB photo realism as updated for 1.6.6 (64x, 128X, 256x)
also: when are we going to see mc patcher working with the official 'texture pack folder' button? i have no problem manually navigating to it its just a big pain to do so every time i need to add something
one issue i have always had when trying to use your patcher is that almost all buttons are greyed out :sad.gif: , the only ones working are mods, log and those. and the browse buttons work but gives an extended error log. NOTE: i have windows 7 (shown in error log :tongue.gif: ), and i have an acer computer (if this makes any difference)

what do this have to do with anything on this thread?
I've got an issue, and it's kind of distressing for me. After I used the patcher so I could use one of those fancy texture packs, it says I have an unregistered version of the game and seems to be insinuating that I stole it. Help! D:
-Cleaning your installation (DO THIS BEFORE INSTALLING THE PACK)
1. Hit Windows Key + R to open the Run console.
2. Type in and enter the following: %appdata%/.minecraft/
3. That should open a folder, in that folder delete the bin and texturepacks folders.
4. Run Minecraft and let it patch. When that's done, close Minecraft completely.
-Installing the texture pack
1. Save my pack's zip file and the latest version of MCPatcher to your desktop.
2. Run MCPatcher and check the texture pack box.
3. In the file bar next to it browse to the zip file of my pack and open it to add it to the patcher.
4. 64x64 will be auto-detected.
5. Hit patch and wait for the "Success!...Probably." message to appear, then close the patcher.
6. Play the game!
Email me with comments, critiques, or what have you: [email protected]
It didn't autodetect anything. I manually chose the folders in what I THINK was the correct way. I DID get the "Success!... Probably." message, closed the patcher, played the game, and it didn't work.

Just have Merlina pull her face and it's Robotnik and you have him say "What a twist!"
The mcpatcher wont even open for me it just keeps giving me the error: Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item.
Can somebody please help me sort this ***** of an error out! its so annoying because I just want to add the "minecraft4kids" texture pack to the game.
Thanks.

Trying to use LB Photo Realism texture pack.
have you tried the compressed version of LB photo realism?
Whenever starting the patcher I get the error message:
There was an error opening minecraft.jar. This may be because:
-You selected the launcher.jar and not the main minecraft.jar in the bin folder.
-You selected a texture pack and not minecraft.jar.
-The file has already been patched.
-There was an update that this patcher can not handle.
-There is another, conflicting mod applied.
-The jar file is invalid or corrupt.
You can re-download the original minecraft.jar by using the Force Update button in the Minecraft Launcher.
Clicking OK brings me to the log, HD Textures and Fonts, as well as Better Grass, are all shaded out, but HD Fonts and Textures are checkmarked. I can't click Patch, Unpatch, or Test Minecraft, as they are also grayed out, the other buttons, however, arent't. Patch notes claims no patches are installed yet, and the class map tab says no minecraft.jar is selected. The only mod installed is TooManyItems, and although i've gone through a scenario that makes it work, in the end it also fails. That scenario would be uninstalling TooManyItems, using the patcher, re-installing TooManyItems, going along with it working, Minecraft patch comes, re-install TooManyItems, and from there, TooManyItems causes Minecraft to blackscreen so long as MCPatcher's files are present. Is there any way to get both working without constantly repeating the previous scenario?
EDIT: I MIGHT have gotten it to work. I tried installing it with MCPatcher and so far TooManyItems doesn't seem to be conflicting with MCPatcher in any way. So upon the arrival of 1.7 I will likely either re-post or update this post. If it works fine from now on then I will likely remove this post.
i dont really understand how to patch texture packs with this, do you select it and put it in the patcher or do you just click patch then put them in texture packs and they will work? can someone help? pleas:(
You save it to your desktop, run it, and then put the texture pack in Minecraft's texture pack folder and use it.
thankyou very much i have had days of trying to do this lol :tongue.gif: so let me go over this in my mind...
save mcpatcher onto your desktop
run mcpatcher
dont select anything and click patch
then take the texture pack already saved from somewhere and drag it into the texturepacks folder
and run mineraft
select the texture pack
play the game and see if it works
hhaha, tell me if i am still getting it wrong because i am a complete dumbass XD thank you anyway :smile.gif:
I can assure you that the mcpatcher does NOT carry a virus. your computer is just overly cautious.
better grass makes the sides of grass blocks have the texture of the actual grass, if there is a grass block right below it. so hills will be completely grassy and cliffs will still have the default sidegrass. I recommend using better grass. it looks very nice, IMO
EDIT: by the way, nice avatar, and funny sig lol
