Probably because not all versions are supported by the current version of MCPatcher. Only versions 1.6 and later are available in the current version.
You can still use older versions of MCPatcher for your older versions of Minecraft, though it isn't presently possible to use it in conjunction with the new launcher.
Is it possible to introduce a z-index feature for blocks like cobblestone walls, fences etc that would enable you to specify specific texture for specific depth levels.
Why do I get the feeling that by the time 2.0.0 comes around there will be like, three good modders left in Minecraft with everyone else with any experience having long since thrown up their hands and walked out.
Don't know if you're religiously inclined, Kahr, but I'll be praying for you.
I get that feeling too! But it's not just modders who suffer.
I know a few casual PC users of Minecraft who usually return at update time, who this time have walked away from the game at the new launcher stage, which is indicative of the damage that too much change can have on those who just want to relax with Minecraft and their favorite texture pack/mods, along with all the beauty that MCPatcher brings. None of these changes will put off a committed user who likes to tinker, but make the process too complicated and those people who perhaps have only a few hours a week to spare will drift away, which is a little sad in the long term.
Hate to repost this buuut it kinda screws up some of the things I'm doing with ctm so I need to know if I should remove that ctm or not:
Also kahr, did you change how birch leaves take their colours with a custom biome triangle? Because my birch colours don't change from biome to biome, they seem to take their colours from one spot on the triangle only and use that throughout each biome.
If anybody else is using a birch biome triangle with different colours for different biomes, your input as to whether it's working for you would be lovely as well!

Question: Is there a file (.properties, colormap, or otherwise) for changing the fog color? I'm trying for a completely black-and-white resource pack, and the fog is remaining blue.

Sorry if this has been answered before, but I want to install MCPatcher with forge. So I have the required versions of forge litloader and mc patcher, but when I run the installers I get 3 separate profiles.I tried running mcpatcher first then liteloader then forge as per the instructions but I don't get a merged liteloader/forge profile then when I run mcpatcher again the only profile it sees is the mcpatcher profile. I tried runing forge first the liteloader then mcpatcher but I still only get the 3 separate profiles no merged profiles. Thanks for any help.
I’m trying to use this with Forge on 1.6.2. I have a working Forge profile for the standard launcher, but when I launch MCPatcher, that profile does not appear in the Game Version dropdown. Why would this be?

Every time I patch Minecraft I get a crash. I have Forge 9.10.0.804. The first few times I tried I checked all the mods except Forge (which does not appear in the mod list when I do NOT have Forge installed), and crashed without the game even starting. Then I only checked Random Mobs, Connected Textures, Custom Item Textures and Forge, and the game started, and then crashed when I entered a world.

I decided to do a clean install of minecraft last night because of some issues I was having. I reinstalled this morning, everything worked great. Added my fav texture pack back, looked good. Now. to run MCPatcher to get the custom textures going....NOPE!
I have tried every which way I can think of and MCPatcher will not apply anything. I have done the MCPatcher profile thing, that didn't reflect any changes. I tried it on my regular profile. Nope. I have had this issue with MCPatcher from day one and for the life of me swear it just randomly starts working when it feels like it. What am I doing wrong?
I'm running the newest MC and the newest MCPatcher. I get no errors at all. It just doesnt seem to be working at all. Not even when I do "Test Minecraft" from the MCPatcher screen.
Hey all. I've run into a problem that... I'm not quite sure how to fix.
I use MCPatcher to install mods and HD texture support, mostly for convenience, but I ran into a snafu where a mod I kept reinstalling wasn't updating to the new version I was patching in. Rather than spend an hour digging through the countless config files accumulated over several months of fiddling with numerous versions of mods, I just nuked my Minecraft folder and started fresh.
Installed Minecraft 162 from the Minecraft.exe launcher, then grabbed 152 (the version I mod) as well. Went to fire up MCPatcher 3.04_02... and it's saying it can't find the folder Minecraft's in, even though it's pointed correctly to /appdata/roaming/.minecraft.
Seems that the launcher didn't give me a /bin/ folder for MCPatcher to find. I'm able to launch either of the jars (1.6.2.jar and 1.5.2.jar, respectively) via Magic Launcher 1.1.7 and as far as I can tell, everything works normally. I made a world, ran around and punched a few chickens to death, and quit and still don't have a /bin/ folder.
I guess at some point, Mojang changed the file structure for Minecraft? I haven't really kept up with anything since 1.52, since the only mod I play isn't updated to 1.62. Should I use the 1.62-compatible MCPatcher, even though I'll be patching a Minecraft 1.52 jar? Or where should I point MCPatcher 3.04_02? I've tried pointing it to /versions/ and /versions/1.5.2/ and it still says it can't locate my Minecraft install.
EDIT: MCPatcher 4.2.1 recognizes my Minecraft install, but won't allow me to patch in any sort of HD effects (HD texture support, better grass, all that jazz) at all when told to use a 1.5.2 version, though it seems to patch in other mods just fine. Won't let me check any of the boxes for HD texture support at all.
I guess at some point, Mojang changed the file structure for Minecraft?
Yes, this is exactly it. 1.6.x is when they introduced the new launcher, and the new way of tracking Minecraft installs. Kahr is working on updating MCPatcher for the older versions to work with the new launcher.
http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/mapping-and-modding/minecraft-mods/1287648-tinkers-construct
You can still use older versions of MCPatcher for your older versions of Minecraft, though it isn't presently possible to use it in conjunction with the new launcher.
There is already a way to do this:
My biome triangle for Birch leaves work too.
Time for some testing...
How would this work? there is no tags that are on blocks/items that are connected to Scoreboard/achievements. So there will be no reason to have this.
that's what I was saying

Most recent crash log:
I have tried every which way I can think of and MCPatcher will not apply anything. I have done the MCPatcher profile thing, that didn't reflect any changes. I tried it on my regular profile. Nope. I have had this issue with MCPatcher from day one and for the life of me swear it just randomly starts working when it feels like it. What am I doing wrong?
I'm running the newest MC and the newest MCPatcher. I get no errors at all. It just doesnt seem to be working at all. Not even when I do "Test Minecraft" from the MCPatcher screen.
I would rather it look like a larger version of this

Works completely fine when told to work on 1.6.2.
