It's my favorite texture pack ! Great job ! :smile.gif:
The only problem is during snow-falls ( I suppose it's like that also with rain, but I never tried ), the game is VERY SLOW. :sad.gif: I would like to have a version with the default snow-falls.
This texture pack is amazing.
64x is the best resolution. it looks natural for minecraft. 32x is too little, 128x is too much. on top of that, you have done an incredible job on this pack, it looks beautiful, the extra work you put in really improves it, especially your work on RandoMobs, Wild Grass, and animated textures. the TF2 sniper skelle made me LOL! so did the Michael Jackson zombie, Michael Myers zombie, and Joker Zombie. It's these extra things that make me love it even more. its semi-realistic, and semi-serious. It's a little bit darker than default, and I'm a big fan of that. Love this pack, always will. Keep it up!
Also, the developer of GLSLshaders (daxnitro), said that tonight/tomorrow, he is releasing glsl for 1.0.0. (he commented here)
Inevidebly, someone is going to add bumpmap and specular. Any chance you are going to re-introduce that? I dont want to use photorealistic.. :dry.gif: LB's is so grainy.. and.. i dont like it..
please support GLSL when it gets updated :smile.gif:
even if you don't, the pack will still look beautiful with the god rays, dynamic shadows, dof, and whatever other shaders are thrown out there.

Did you use MCPatcher?
That is the thing that enables animated items and blocks.

...I've just updated to the latest version (followed all the directions as usual) and all seems well apart from the fact that chests are showing up as black shapes. Is there any known cause for this?...
Try placing a torch next to them then destroying it, or destroying the chest and replacing it. It's not an issue with my pack, it's usually an issue with the game's lighting engine and the save file format.

...I was wondering if you've ever considered adding some sort of contrast between 'done' wheat and 'almost done' wheat. Right now they are practically identical...
Fully grown wheat has yellow seed pods on the tip of the stalks. All other wheat stalks do not. They're kinda hard to miss.

anyway you could change the font of the text its hard to read, it might be the gui scale but it would be nice to be a simpler font
You're probably not playing it at a high enough window/screen resolution. Not sure why I'd need to make a simple font though when I already have one in there. Open the zip of the pack, go into the font folder, then the old font folder, copy that default.png into the just plain font folder, replacing the current one, then delete default.properties.

I keep having the prblem with the water saying to use the MCPatcher. I did use it. If I delete the bin folder, won;t minecraft not run?
Follow ALL the instructions. Deleting the bin folder kills the main game file, but doesn't touch saves or anything else. Running the game then repatches everything and downloads a new, clean bin folder for you. Then you can patch it and all should work fine. If that doesn't work, delete everything in the .minecraft folder aside from the saves and texturepacks folders, then run Minecraft and let it redownload clean versions of all of those files.

May I use this texture pack for my YouTube videos? My videos will be let's plays and speed builds. I will post the link to this forum page in the description as well.
Thank u in advance, Zurgiff
I've said this a bunch lately in my posts, if you want permission for something, ask via PM for record-keeping purposes. I need to be able to keep track of who is using what, asking in the discussion thread makes it impossible to keep track of these things should I need to reference them. That said though, what you're asking falls under fair use. So yeah, you're perfectly free to make videos that use my pack without permission so long as you are not claiming you made the pack, and you give credit with a link to my thread.

I had the 360 and was fine, but updated to the 400, not good, the pressure plates used didn't open the doors anymore and my skin tunned into a male with the face you used on the npc's? But, I had to delete the pack, and the others I had and re-download the game. had to keep trying and force update, before I could get my own female skin back? I liked the 360 pack very much, but this new update you did to it got messed up somehow? i didn't check any farther!
The problems you're describing could not possibly be caused by a texture pack. It sounds like your first big mistake that I can make out here is you touched the 'force update' button, which no one should ever touch under any circumstances. Though I'm also guessing you had mods installed prior to this. Follow the installtion instructions posted on my main thread, starting with Cleaning your installation. Instead of deleting the bin folder, I'd reccomend deleting ALL files in the minecraft folder except saves and the texturepacks folders. Then follow the rest of the instructions as usual. There is nothing in the pack that'll break your game to that degree. Things that will do that are old mods that were improperly installed over, using the old launcher for Minecraft (in the case of the skin thing.) Using an outdated form of MCPatcher, or using a pirated or the browser client of the game.

I don't know If you'll read this but, here is an idea for the animated textures with Mc patcher. Make the leaves look like the flowing in the wind( I don't know if thats possible). Like theres always a breeze and the leaves are just moving back and forth. It would be a real nice edition to the pack. Hope you take this into consideration!
I read every post. Also this has been addressed a couple times. I'm not going to go into too much detail, since you can search the thread for a more detailed response. But basically the animated tile system does not lend itself well to this kind of animation. This kind of job is something better left to the GLSL shader mod (When it's updated and I support it again.) There will be no animated leaves or grass through MCPatcher animated tiles, it's impossible to make them look good and not disorienting.

I have a humble request/question however... Ever think of upgrading your pack to 128?
Well I know if I was running things, they'd be handled a lot differently. But that's neither here nor there. Also in regards to a 128x128 pack. I've probably answered this question the most over any other question. The short answer is no. The longer answers are in the FAQ and in the large detailed explanations I've posted in the thread. I have experimented with 128 and 256 versions of my pack. Was satisfied with the results on paper, but greatly unsatisfied with the results in practice.

I noticed that two of the skeletons resemble popular characters from a video game (Link from Zelda) and an animated TV series (Raven from Teen Titans), but who is the zombie dressed in red supposed to represent?
Actually the skeletons are references to archers (Who I guess I killed off so I could reanimate their bones for Minecraft). Link is correct, but I don't know who Raven from Teen Titans is, so I can assure you that's not what was in mind when I designed that skeleton. From a quick image search, I assume the skeleton you're referring to is the one with the dark hood. That one is actually a cameo of the protagonist of my favorite game series of all time. Kudos to anyone who guesses it. (And doesn't already know who it is from me telling them in my Tinychat.) The zombie dressed in red I think everyone has already pointed out is an obvious reference to Michael Jackson from the Thriller video.

I noticed the files in your texture pack labeled as 'custom_XXXXX_XXX.png.' At first confused by them, but eventually I figured them out and attempted to create one of my own. I tried to make a replacement for the wooden shovel that looked like a running hand drill, naming it "custom_item_81.png." However when I attempted to load it up in-game, the wooden shovels were not unchanged. Do you know why it's not working?
Item texture ID #81 is the stone shovel. You want #80.

Yes, and I didn't like the idea of doing so. I don't feel my work is best represented at anything other than 64x64. Plenty of others have though. I got like 6 requests of permission to make a 32x32 version of my pack in just this month. So keep an eye out on the forums. Also check Planet Minecraft. I didn't do a Joker or Michael Myers zombie. I did do Johnathon the "" zombie though. As far as GLSL goes, I'll have to wing it. It'll likely be some time before I can fully catch up and get my old shaders working with the new version. But yeah, the plan is to add bumpmapping again if the lighting issues have been worked out. I would like to do a proper release with my recommended shader properties files though and the proper settings for getting my bump maps to look as good or better than they did. Just a heads up though, I likely will not make use of the 'god rays' or depth of field in my combined shader properties files, as I find them horribly unrealistic and just a plain pain on the eyes. Things I'd like to have a return of will be long-distance STATIC DOF, some minor world curvature, and waving vegetation. But yeah, if I can get things all working the way I want, I'll have official normal maps, height maps, and specular maps out there again.
Currently I'm somewhat absorbed in Skyrim still, so actually playing Minecraft is like one of the last things on my mind, so I make no promises about this, but when/if I have a lot of free time and am really into Minecraft again, and few constant updates are coming out. I may consider upping the resolution just for the GLSL shaders. As I feel that with proper light and height mapping, higher resolution textures may look better. I likely will not do a 256x256 version, but 128x128 should look great with shader maps. This isn't a promise or anything, just an idea that's been floating around in my head for awhile.

•Cleaning Your Installation (DO THIS BEFORE INSTALLING THE PACK)
1. Hit Windows Key + R to open the Run console.
2. Type in and enter the following: %appdata%/.minecraft/
To reach the folder on a Mac:
1. Open Finder.
2. Navigate to the following: (Username)/Library/Application Support/minecraft.
3. That should open a folder, in that folder delete the bin folder.
4. Run Minecraft and let it patch. When that's done, close Minecraft completely.
•Installing the Texture Pack
1. Save my pack's zip file to the texturepacks folder in your minececraft directory. (Do not extract!)
2. Click here to download the latest version of MCPatcher. (How do people keep ****ing this step up?)
3. Run MCPatcher and hit Patch, then close it when it's done.
4. Run Minecraft and go to Mods and Texture Packs to select my pack. (Mac users with problems, see here.)
If you have trouble getting the pack working after this, head to my Tinychat (Mon-Fri) for support.
I followed all of this to the letter but when I load MC and hit the texture packs thing all I see that's selectable is the "default" look.
Any ideas...
Oh, the only thing I do see different is the green grass on the side of the blocks since I opted for that when I ran MCPatcher.

Ok, First things first make sure its actually in the texture pack folder. (it should show up even without patching).
The location will be something like this, C:\Users\Ben*\AppData\Roaming**\.minecraft\texturepacks
*This will be the user name of you or person that has MC.
**Roaming folder is generally hidden, if your not the admin you might not be able to get past (due to some wacky settings).
Second, if it is there make sure that it is still a zip and not inside another folder in the texture pack folder.
Eg, C:\Users\Ben\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\texturepacks\new folder*\Misa306
*The unneeded extra folder, that has caused a problem for me once.

Second, if it is there make sure that it is still a zip and not inside another folder in the texture pack folder.
Eg, C:\Users\Ben\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\texturepacks\new folder*\Misa306
*The unneeded extra folder, that has caused a problem for me once.
Hope that helps.
The error was that it didnt save as a ZIP. That said, I zipped it and now see in in the MC menu but it doesnt look like it's enabling... it's all greyed out, see pic.
That said, I repeated everything from the very first step and same thing so something is still goofing on me or I'm just being a dumb ass and am missing something.
