I need your help again Glimmar... Trying to texture some mod blocks using ctm to specify different textures for different sides. If I was texturing a vanilla block I'd have no problem, but I don't know what to name the .properties file in order to overwrite a mod texture.
When I did the mod item, It needed some different parameters. It had a "from" path, and a "to" path, so I could tell it exactly where in the texture pack I wanted it. But blocks don't have that, or at least, I can't find any mention of it in Kahr's posts. They just have the "source" path.
Seriously getting pressed for time now, folks so keeping it brief, here's the next vid:

Glimmar's Steampunk Update v8 Taster Vid 3
As mentioned before if there's anything you can't place, just ask. This has been filmed using my 64x WIP pack, but there are still more 32x textures than 64x in the terrain. The process of change will be slow, bearing in mind the effort that is needed to also work on adding appropriate ctm and animated textures.
Best viewed at no greater than 720p. Also, the spinning wheels seem to stutter in these videos...this doesn't happen ingame, the revolution of the wheels is quite smooth, particularly the large wheel. I'm guessing this is due to inconsistency of frames per second when rendering to video.

Good job on the textures- I prefer an earlier version of the texture pack though (version 3.3); while I do agree that it is unnecessary to attach gears and pipes to every surface, I feel you have started to lose the industrial feel that I was originally hooked on. Everything seems softer, warmer, more of an antiquity than time-enduring machinery and man-made structures. That said, I still enjoy the texture pack, great work man!

Given the way he once treated cakes, wolves, chickens and a number of mobs, this is quite an understatement. My understanding is that he wants to create really complex steampunk materials, but fairly classy living spaces - the true trademark of Victorian steampunk!
Loving the new update I have decided to make a steampunk-based world, just like yours but in 99% vanilla survival. (I have to use MCpatcher or optifine, so it can't be 100% vanilla)

Honestly, I don't even consider MCPatcher and optifine to be mods. I know they are, but all they do is allow for higher res texture packs, or make the game run better. You're not really adding or taking anything away so much as just making it run the same, but better. lol
Already mentioned a few pages back that fans of the pack make mod support as glimmar does not have the time. Id just wait for one of the people who do these textures to hop on this page.
Hello, Glimmar, nice to see the fervour for this pack and the support is still strong. Unfortunately google seems to think this topic and ads are abit dangerous, but I think not. Perhaps there may be a real problem among these vast pages, I think Minecraftforum should investigate this. Hope to see you back on soon.

You do realize, if you go to the main page of minecraftforum.net, you'll see that they already know about the problem. And it's the whole site, not just THIS topic.
Ah, I completely missed all this drama. I wouldn't be affected anyway though if the ad did try to infect me, since I use Linux. Back on topic, it seems mojang is updating so quickly nowadays (It seems like just yesterday 1.3.2 came out) I'm almost worried they'll spam out a 1.5 before the texture authors are finished. Which would, of course, be bad for everyone involved.

Any advice?

Another vid is on the way soon...
I just discovered they are releasing EE3 soon. Has anyone started any projects regarding Equivalent Exchange for this texture pack?

I used internet Explorer for the longest time with no issues, then I recently switched to Google Chrome and i get malware warnings for this site.

Hey, it could be worse. Could be people asking why their Nether looks like water and their bricks are on fire
