Here's an update, finally! I managed to find time to play around with these again. My focus will be on these two texturepacks from now on, done experimenting otherwise. I've streamlined the process and hopefully won't be so delayed again in updating from now on.
Updated for 1.9 Pre-Release 3, with the new items and placeholder GUI for alchemy/enchanting screens.
All Current Texturepacks - In One File!
[Download Above]Currently only in 64x64 Resolution --- Not playing with multiple formats anymore, for easier updates.
Updated almost every update, and randomly. Screenshots below in second post.
I thought it would be cool to re-skin Minecraft for DooM, for all those DooM-Guy fans out there. It looks pretty good so far, from what I saw in game, but constructive critisism would be good too. I used and reworked DooM textures to fit.
After some comments and wishing, I have also put into work a Heretic/Hexen texture that more fits the RPG style of MineCraft. Since they are similar and around the same time period, I didn't bother making a second thread. So both packs will be updated here.
To Do:
Re-Skin more mobs
Custom skins for villagers. (Scientists, Marines, etc for DooM, random shinier RPG type villagers for Hex)
Work out any bugs? Will be addressed completely at the actual 1.9 release.
Finish GUI, Re-Skin some other things that are still placeholder.

For those who don't know how to Install:
----------------------------------------------------------
Firstly, you must download the Minecraft.exe; do not use with the browser version. If you run into an issue with MCPatcher, follow their troubleshooting. After MCPatcher finishes patching, META INF folder should be deleted (if it isn't already.)
To install skins/mod packs, go to c:/[YourUsername]/AppData/Roaming/.minecraft/
Drag the .ZIP files into your texturepacks folder. Load Minecraft and select your prefered textures!
AppData is a hidden folder if you haven't unhidden them. Go to Control Panel, Classic View, Folder Options, View Tab, and under Hidden Files and Folders, select the show option.
Most old screenshots taken down, new screenshots pending. Submit your own! Will work on a all-in-one block shot at some point.

I made a Shotgun as an alternative to a Rocket Launcher
(The trigger pull shows you what the charge is.)
Now with Shotgun Shells and Backpack! Placing errors fixed.
I made a Shotgunner Sargeant as an alternative to the Imp
Thanks for the positive comments. :smile.gif: I did try to change the water into the doom water, but the texture didn't quite take. There's probably another somewhere. The Lava I'd really rather have be the green acid goo. XD
For the sand, you mean the intestines looking stuff? Or the faces? I dunno, that's a little bit too creepy. Maybe I'll make a DooM Horror and a DooM Light. I still wanted to keep the feel of Minecraft a little, but it wouldn't be hard to make a horror pack.
Also, releasing DooM-Craft V1!
---Download Link Void, See OP---
Includes some mob reskins, still in beta, terrain and GUI, and rocket launcher.
Still need to reskin a few things and a lot of the items, but more to come in the next update.

I guess they'll just have to stay default until I make a hi-res version. Also, armor done! I just need to reskin some of the items now.
I planned to reskin the Creeper to be one of those spider mechs, but the texture probably wouldn't fit right at all, and it would look strange on an actual spider too. I also thought about changing Chickens into Lost Souls, but I also haven't figured out how I'm going to do that yet. XD
Next update will include Armor, Items, and fixed cacti in the terrain file. Probably sometime tomorrow as I'm running out of steam and patience for pixels.

I'm gonna be stealing some of these textures to complete my Evil Dead cabin map. Especially those trees. A 32x version in the future would be tits.
Stealing is the highest form of flattery! Really I was surprised I got the trees how I wanted them on the first shot. :smile.gif: Steal you may. 32x version will come when I feel up to it. It would look even better with bigger textures.

Madam, but thank you. :biggrin.gif:

you definately have to make a full gore version
At some point, yes. There are plenty of textures at hand to make a completely different DooM pack. No ETA on when I start the Horror Pack, as I may do HD first. Horror pack will probably also be HD only, also, as it would look better. It's hard to cram much detail into tiny squares.

Thank you. :biggrin.gif: Does anyone who tried it have any suggestions for the weapons? I considered making the Mine-Pick into a Drill, but that would be a little awkward. Pick makes more sense for whacking stone.
I'd like to at least recolor them or tweak them some more to give them a DooM feel. I feel like there's more I can do, I just don't know what!
In other news, I'm enjoying using this pack in Multiplayer. Makes some structures look pretty damn cool.

Download is working fine. Sometimes Mediafire goes down temporarily for maintainence I think.
To install skins/mod packs, go to c:/[YourUsername]/AppData/Roaming/.minecraft/bin/minecraft.jar
Open minecraft.jar with WinRAR, and drag the folders and files over to overwrite/install them.
AppData is a hidden folder if you haven't unhidden them. Go to Control Panel, Classic View, Folder Options, View Tab, and under Hidden Files and Folders, select the show option.

I expect to start work on the x32 pack sometime in the next week. I'm currently having too much fun playing SMP because of the invetory/furnace fix. :smile.gif: Also work, but you know, life!
I don't expect it to be long to finish once I start, as I tend to get locked in when I start a project. More updates soon!

DooM HD 1.1 Released! Completed unfinished textures, fixed chest misalignment, tweaked brightness/contrast of some textures, changed clay to brown (as brown brick and brown clay pile item, all brown now).
Debating on also changing cobblestone to grey, to match smooth stone. Although I like the look of brown on buildings. Thoughts?

USE MC PATCHER; To fix animated water/lava, and the fire-block glitch.) It is a must use for these texture packs. http://minecraftforum.net/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=46173

Added new Secret Friday Stuff, the Compass. (Seems to be the only new item that requires a texture, from what I saw.)
I will try to keep up to date with Notch's updates for compatability. Updates will be worked on after 6:00PM EST, as that's when I get home from work.
