Excuse me, but I am having trouble starting up the model creator. I have 7zip to open up the .jar file, but it's all strange folders and more .jar files inside, like "au" and "lib" and many more. I can't find the application file. Attached is a screenshot of my MC Model Maker.jar file.
Sorry for the trouble. I'm quite new to this thing.

When life gives you eraser dust, you make erasers.
If i remember correctly you need to open(double click) the jar. file.
Which .jar file? The one called MC Model Maker.jar? Yeah, I double-clicked it and it opened the file, but it didn't launch any application. This is what I got instead.
Or do you mean another .jar file? There are really a lot of them, I don't know. Thank you for your suggestion anyway!

When you double clicked it, it opened the jar with 7Zip. Instead it should have opened it with "Java SE Platform Binary", which would have launched the program.

OK it works now! Thanks a lot!

I'm trying to create a 8x8x8 present model, but when I load it up ingame and place it down, I can see though the world.
That is a bug with minecraft. If your model doesn't fill the borders of the hitbox, you need to replace a transparent block like glass, leaves or even flowers.
Sorry about that, I hope Mojang fix it soon.
Please don't discontinue this, it may be worse than Sphax, but at least it is free and mac!
I'm not going to discontinue this, but I'm going to keep it on an unofficial hold for a fair while longer.
At the moment I am teaching myself IOS and Mac development. I will "evolve" this into a much better program (A full resource pack editor).
It will be Mac only, sorry, but that is the main target for this program as Windows users already have Cubik.
I tried getting it to work for a long time before giving up. I'm not going to fix it as with the correct setup, you can use minecraft as a more accurate view.
I will post a tutorial shortly.

Don't make this Mac only. With Cubik, I have to pay $12 for it, and the free version as so many restrictions it's ridiculous. This is my only chance to find a good free model maker.

OPL's model maker is fairly good. The reason why it will be mac only is because java is not very fun to go back to from the new Mac and iOS language. I also don't have any windows or linux machines to test on, so it isn't very stable either.
Cool! I am absolutely confused, though, I don't know what in the world to do. The tutorials aren't really any help.
At the moment I am really busy with other projects I am working on. In the future though, I will be making a much better version. If you end up not being able to figure it out, try using ops model maker.
The link to download (for 0.1.3) seems to take me to a dropbox download page. Is that intentional, or did you forget to change dl=0 to dl=1? Also, I might suggest using GitHub releases instead of dropbox, but that's a personal preference. It's a really handy tool, I'm quite glad you made it.
[EDIT] It is a bit difficult to use, it took me a while to figure out how to do something basic, like make a block slightly shorter, and I have have yet to figure out how to make a more complex model, such as the bed you made. The 3D preview doesn't work either. I have to say, it's easier than straight coding in JSON, but much harder than it needs to be. Something as simple as making the tutorials a bit more clear and in depth would help enormously.

Release that glitched resource pack! It might be the new xray! xD

Not with MC Model Maker, but you can with the text editor. TheMogMiner did a post about it a while back.

Awesome! Our resource packs will look amazing when Mojang finish adding feature.

Sorry, I keep forgetting to post the tutorial. It should be up soon.

It makes that face invisible when a block is placed against it. It is only for faces that aren't visible when a block is placed against them.
Hey come look at my gallery of unfinished projects!
I't works by placing the areas of the block you want to display. If you want an indent, model around that area.

Sorry, but if you wan't to rotate models, you need to use a text editor.
Here and Here are useful.
