Minecraft 1.7

NEWS
Hello all you Minecrafters out there I have some news to share about INVedit and hopefully its future to come. Last year (2014 Sep.) I talked to CopyGirl about taking up INVedit and working out it to keep going this was before Mojang (now part of Microsoft) announced that name changed where going to be added. I did not think that we would ever get to change our name but the news is in 1.9 we will. With that being said in all, when I was still in school I worked at lunch to update the program to 1.7 and with some work I did, I did how ever get some help from the creator on what was causing the conflict (creator being CopyGirl) then 1.8 came out and the second thing that that was going on with the program the next update well for those who keep with the news two things happened one Mojang implemented name changed (added player UUIDs not the ability to change the name just yet.) and the second thing the way Tile and Entity IDs where changed now with “minecraft:block_or_item_name” at the time I had and still don’t have any knowledge of C++ and then on top of it all I graded from school and life happened
So where does INVedit go from here I have checked my post asking for someone to step up and help with the C++ coding and there was no one willing to help most people thought it would be obsolete by now and some thought because of creative there would be no need for it but like all things rules change now with the new IDs for blocks items and all that fun well i don't need to say more we have entered a new age in minecraft if you see it or not its true all this changed just when I thought myself that there right creative is the replacement for Inventory editors but like i said before all that can change fast. some IDs like double stone slabs for an example there is no way to get not even with the /give command anymore and it's not just the only thing you can't get it with command block or the any command you can only use the /fill command to place the block so with the table tables turned and it becoming of a demand, the demand for me to learn C++ has awoken I will let you know if things change but for now INVedit will remain on early MC 1.7 till i can fix up the code for 1.8+ sorry for the time lost in all this I will do my best to fit time in to my life to get an update out
I cant stress this enough but if you know C# (NOT) C++ then please contact me, you can find some ways to contact me under contact of this post.
INVedit is a program that edits your inventory, it first made by "CopyBoy" and latter discontinued from updates. I asked CopyBoy if I could keep the program up-to-date and he granted me permission. 1.7 is the first release I have done with this program and plan to keep the program up-to-date. I have big plans for this program in the future and hope people use this program for Minecraft just as I did when I first started playing Minecraft.

Common Problems:
Error messages "The application has failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135)"
and "Unable to find a version of the runtime to run this application"
and "Could not load file or assembly 'System.Core [...]' or one of its dependecies."
and many more weird error messages:
Make sure you have .NET 4.0 (link below) installed and working correctly. If you're not sure, try to reinstall or repair it. If that doesn't fix it, please send me a PM.
Error message "Failed to parse column ITEMS at line 235 in file items.txt":
Automatic updating was broken. Old versions were having problems updating the .exe. If you try to do it anyway, the next time you start a message box will pop up displaying the above error and the first group will be missing. To fix this, just redownload it.
You may have downloaded this old version recently, because I switched servers and I didn't pay attention to what I uploaded. Sorry about that.
Error message "System.IO.InvalidDataException: The magic number in GZip header is not correct. [...]":
Make sure your world file isn't corrupted, and that you are actually opening a valid Minecraft file.
Error message "Can't find Inventory tag":
This shows up if you're trying to edit a level.dat of a multiplayer world, as the inventories get stored in seperate player files - you can open these with INVedit by the way.
Changes do not appear in the world:
Make sure you quit the world before editing the inventory in it.
For multiplayer, only the player whose inventory you're editing must be offline.
Again, before asking any questions, also read the tutorial post below.
It usually will help you with your first steps and shows you some more features.
==== 1.7 NOTES ====
Does not work with newer versions of 1.7 i thinks not sure 1.7.4+ problems started when the UUIDs for players where added. so short note any version of 1.7 that does NOT use the Player UUIDs iw will work with.
Click New if you want to create a completely new inventory.
Click Open to open an .inv or .dat file.
Now edit your inventory by dragging and dropping items from the item list at the right, moving them around or modifying their count or damage.
At last, Save it as and .inv file or save over an existing .dat file to modify the inventory inside.
Make sure you exit the world before editing it, the changes won't affect a running game.
Click the small arrows next to open or save to use the quick-load/save feature:
Items are grouped together, you can switch between these groups by clicking on them.
You can also filter for any item with the search bar:
Out of bounds
1) A simple iron pickaxe, which is damaged a little bit.
2) A gold shovel with negative damage. Negative damage means more uses. Minimum is -32657.
3) 64 cobblestone blocks, with positive damage. Tools with damage above their maximum will have their damage displayed like this as well.
4) 255 dirt blocks. Note the red border of the text. Same with stacked tools, since you can't do that ingame.
5) A nonexistent item with ID 80.Tools and armor with negative damage are useful, because it means they have more durability than they normally have.
Setting the damage of blocks to anything but 0 or tools above their maximum doesn't do anything (except destroying the tool with the next use). There are a few special blocks and items, where damage is used to distinguish different versions of the same item, for example wool.
You can carry multiple tools in one slot. It won't destroy the whole stack if one tools is destroyed.
When setting block counts to a high number (e.g. 255), they count as infinite as long as you don't restart the game.
Java's bytes are signed (-128 to 127) whereas C#'s are unsigned (0 to 255). You can notice this ingame, when stacks of blocks or items larger than 127 disappear, do nothing or don't work as expected.
Other controls
Delete: Deletes the selected item.
When dragging:
Normal: Move/swap items.
Ctrl: Copy items. Overwrites existing items.
Alt: Split items. Like right-clicking ingame.
When item slot is selected and scrolling the mouse wheel:
You will need the .NET Framework 4.0 (Client Profile) to run this - you usually have this already installed. You can find it here (web installer) or here. May also work with Mono or Wine on Linux and Mac, but there is no guarantee or support. If you're an unexperienced Mac or Ubuntu user, this is probably not the right tool for you. There are a few unofficial tutorials on how to do it, but I really suggest using a different tool or mod.
Thanks for continuing INVedit it's my favourite programm for MC.
But bad news I already got the first problem.
bei(German)=at
If I try opening an old map from before 1.7.2 it works
everything else doesn't
If I play one of the older maps and then save it it won't work after that
Playin Vanilla
I will look in to how to fix this problem, I will try to do it my self. I may need to get someone that knows C++ to help me develop this program but for now i will ask the the creator. thanks for the feedback
Just checking the program to see if I fixed the problem so far no error and everything is fine if it works i will upload it to media fire

depending on what server platform your using it for you need to navigate to your player.dat files and then chose the one you want. make sure they are off like for it to take effect the next time they join you have to have the server on your pc or it will not work or if you have a live server you can try downloading the player.dat file editing it then uploading it but every ftp server is different so i would not know exactly if the one you have allows for that file to be downloaded or not but it should be in the world folder under players. if you need more help let me know and I will check back latter1.8 is almost out and soon it will need to be updated once again
There are uses for this still even though we have creative mode now. I use it to keep tabs on the inventory of players on my server... Looking forward to the 1.8 update, thanks for keeping this alive!
can you provide a direst link? i've tried many inventory editors, and none were this good, but unfortunately, adfly does not work on the computer i play minecraft on most of the time. maybe can you switch to mediafire?
when i do to an adfly page, it keeps on jumping to an advertisement page before the adfly page is visible, and although it asks me if i really want to leave the page, it does not let me stay.
Works in 1.8. When you load a save file, you'll get an error. Just hit continue. (You should probably back up your save just in case, but I had no issues.)
All of your currently existing items will show as an X, but you can safely edit empty inventory spaces.

Which file specifically am I supposed to open? It's a .dat file right?
I am aware that it is possible to simply select the file by clicking hte drop down arrow next to the open button. Asking for clarification

So far it would seem that the enchant editor will only work on items edited in, not items already in your inventory (they are all crossed out with big red X's like reaver mentioned). Point is,even though outdated, there is still some functionality here like reaver said.
Apon downloading and using for 1.8. All items are red X's. any idea why or how to fix it? I either did something wrong or i am so stupid that i forgot what you wrote..

The items are fine, but they are not 1.7 compatible. Just leave them alone and they will still be there when you get back into your 1.8 game.
