I just started playing around with MCEdit, and I can't figure out how to work the features I want. I made a test map with a captive skeleton, then selected him in MCEdit. I hit Analyze to make sure he was selected. (The 3d controls are so hard to get used to!) I hit filter and set his health to 1. (I'm trying to make a 1-hit kill.) And save.
Then I played the world, and punched the skeleton, and it took about 15 hits to kill him. So I guess it didn't work. What did I do wrong here?
Problem 2: I downloaded one of SethBling's filters, but I can't figure out how to install it. No hints on the MCEdit page or SethBling's page, and I'm just stumped. Help?
1. Download CreateMobGears and MobProperties filter from sethbling.
2. Make an empty chest
3. In MCEdit click on the empty chest
4. Go to CreateMobGears and choose a mob you want. Then click Filter
5. Go to MobProperties and just set the health to 1, ignore the -1337 thing
6. Done ( Make sure u are not in peaceful )

1. Download Filter
2. Go to the extracted mcedit folder
3. put filter in filters folder

Oh ya you can right click to change 3d modes. The one without cursor is better to get used to. Also make sure you selected the chest and also make sure u hit filter. If you still have problem watch sethbling's tutorial.

Thanks! But that's pretty much what I did. I wasn't doing gear - I'll get to that later. But setting health to 1 seems to not work. I guess I'll give it another try, I'll have some free time tomorrow.
Whoa... mind = blown. Boundegar, asking for help? That is not something you see everyday. Well, actually, I just got MCEdit myself not long ago, and I haven't had a reason to really play around with the mob healths and stuff, so sorry 'bour that. Maybe today I'll play around with it and see what I can get.
Set the health to 1, and don't set the other properties you don't wan't to 0, leave it to -1337
Use the gear filter, but just don't add gears into it. Place a chest then do the rest.

I thought I did that - but not with the gear filter, I think I used SetMobProperties. That's not the same filter, is it? If it is, then I had no idea an empty chest was necessary. Isn't there any manual for this thing? I'll play around with it later today. Thank you!

It's not something I do every day, because I read the wiki first. But there seems to be no documentation at all for MCEdit. I'm starting to think only Java programmers can actually use it.
Sethbling has MCEdit filters for epicness. but i don't remember his website...

You could use NBTedit found in the tools section or use In-Game NBTEdit , found at topic

EDIT: O holy hell that mod looks extremely technical. o.o;;
EDIT: Oh good the insults have been redacted.
