Gui API (for Mo' Creatures) can't be installed through this. It wants to be installed directly into minecraft.jar. Getting this;
java.lang.RuntimeException: GuiAPI has detected that it was not installed directly into the minecraft jar as required. If you are trying to use a mod manager such as MyCraft, or you are trying to use Modloader's mods folder, this would cause this issue. Please install directly into the minecraft jar in order for GuiAPI to work correctly.

So I throw the mod in the .jar, relaunch the launcher, and it says Gui API is missing. I try to uninstall and it can't. So I just ignore it, and now it won't launch or do anything.
EDIT: Nevermind. I put Gui API back in (had deleted it), and was able to "uninstall" it properly, and now the buttons are working normally again.
Hmmmm... you grabbed my interest. Would this work along-side something like TortoiseSVN to safely manage minecraft.jar backups? I prefer to do my own.
If it does, then you've done what MCPatcher fails to do; how to install mods, and where to put them.
The beauty of this is it doesn't ever change your jar. Ever!
You'd have to extract the files manually but it should work.
Perhaps you should note this in your OP, under a bold heading?
Someone could make the mistake of trying to install a mod incorrectly, which could cause people asking similar questions to answer in the future.

I agree to this 110%. Not all mods are installable through this (though the OP did state this). Some still have to be directly thrown into the .jar (like Gui API).
This installer didn't know how to properly install Mo' Creatures (the main thing). It didn't know you're supposed to move the resource folder into .minecraft. But what puzzles me is it didn't install what was needed into /mods, yet it still works. How?
I mean, how is ModLoader even working without it being directly put into the .jar? It makes no sense.
Incoming rant. I'm really sorry. At least it's constructive.
I know the OP claims this program is smart enough to know what goes into the .jar and what goes into /mods, but Mo' Creatures proved it still has limitations. I hope that I would never ever have to install a mod by hand ever again for the rest of my life (after being forced to reinstall 1.1.0 due to a mod that suddenly refused to work ever again, and even then it didn't help...). Sadly I think I was better off doing it by hand.
Would of been nice if the OP stated "Warning, this program is still in BETA. There is still alot of mods you will have to install manually! Don't expect miracles!" in bold, big letters.
Not flaming the program (trying my best not to, anyway). But it just feels like a disappointment. I hope to see it being better in the future. It's still a good program for what it does, but it's not really something to rely on; not yet anyway.
Keep up the good work, though.

The launcher does some Java magic in order to make it seem as if you had installed the files into minecraft.jar, and for ModLoader mods, it asks ModLoader to explicitly load only the mods that you have enabled.
A lot of the smaller mods install much more easily. The bigger ones tend to have more requirements, so when I was referring to "most mods" I was also considering the smaller ones. The next major will have more advanced installation methods, but you will have to intervene, although it will all occur in one dialog so it will be substantially simpler (or at least quicker).
For me, I've installed a few dozen mods and I haven't any problems. It obviously depends on which mods you use, but in my case, the mods I happen to use don't have problems. We're of course hoping to correct that soon.

I have a mac and used the xcode tools pack to made an app out of your launcher, even though I have extremely little knowledge in coding. Contact me if your interested!
P.S this is, in my opinion, the best modding/launcher, out there.
Seems like every time I close your launcher I get these files on my desktop: http://grab.by/cvWk
Any idea why?

Looks like an awsome launcher, but im confused about some things.
1. If i install some addons in one configuration and then make a new configuration and deselect some of those addons they are also deselected in the first configuration. Isnt the whole point so you can have different configs that load different mods?
2. If i have multiple minecraft.jar files named differently it looks like i can install different mods on each of those, but there is no way to select the correct jar file in the configurations settings, it always launches minecraft.jar
The only way i managed to get different mods loaded is to make separate minecraft installation folders but then the maps is not the same since they are in each folder.
Have i misunderstood something, or am i doing it wrong?
Cheers!
1) Will investigate as a potential bug
2) On the addons screen, at the top, look for "active jar"

I will get round to make Sir Jenkins do that automatically, thanks for the offer, you can test the automatic mac builds when I get them set up.

Cheers!
1. Not if the two configurations share the same folder. The configurations are primarily to completely separate settings or folders at the moment.
2. You have to click "More Options"
Anyway, lately I have been in pain and I've also been busy, so I haven't really had a chance to work on the launcher.
What about me? Ive....no wait yeah sk is cooler.

EDIT: Nevermind. I put Gui API back in (had deleted it), and was able to "uninstall" it properly, and now the buttons are working normally again.

The beauty of this is it doesn't ever change your jar. Ever!
We're considering adding translations in the future.
And we're going to try to fix that cut off.
Check out my Minecraft server.
I have a mac and used the xcode tools pack to made an app out of your launcher, even though I have extremely little knowledge in coding. Contact me if your interested!
P.S this is, in my opinion, the best modding/launcher, out there.
I'm not sure if it's incompatibility issues with MCpatcher, or it's just an issue.
I'm using a Mac. SKLauncher Version 3.1.3.
EDIT: The clouds, hand, inventory bar, fog, and in-game menu screen will flicker. Tested without using mods or texture packs.
EDIT 2: Haha. Turns out, updating LWJGL caused it.
Any idea why?

Mind pastebinning the contents of those files?
Coming soon.
1) Will investigate as a potential bug
2) On the addons screen, at the top, look for "active jar"
I will get round to make Sir Jenkins do that automatically, thanks for the offer, you can test the automatic mac builds when I get them set up.

I just installed SKMC and ran it and this happened to me, so I force updated it and it still happened:
Sorry if this has been solved already, I have to go now, so I didn't have time to look through other comments.
