This is like the savior of Minecraft for me. I could never get Minecraft mods to work before this, and I am soo excited that is is updated! But, on the update list, it says it updated the Forge support, I downloaded the latest version of Minecraft Forge, but it still says that it has 1 Error, like before, before it would not let me create a new world, and I'm assuming that it will do the same thing. The other mods I have installed are TooManyItems, ZansMinimap, and Optifine. Is there anything I'm doing wrong?? Thanks!
Edit 1: Sorry, forgot to add this. How does the friend's list work? Or is do we have to wait until the new Minecraft update comes out? (I heard that they are working on a Friend feature) Thanks.....

Forge has an error, because it i not absolutely compatible to the 1.5.2 minecraft.jar, but it should still work.
The Friends List is still on the TODO.
By the way, it works better now, but I still have the crash problem when I am adding/removing mods. Then I get after some seconds that it says that it stopped working I am not sure, but every time I use a 64 bit java it crashes I think. I am not sure. Now I am using the (latest) java 8 build 80 64bit. So managing the mods is a pain in the ass, because I have to restart many times the launcher to manage them quickly.
Do you get an error message or something in the log?
mojang is starting to me off with their all little updates, they should better release a huge update once, not small all the time. it
Screw those devs, updating their game and stuff. Jerks...
You don't have to download every one you know, you can skip from 1.5.0 to 1.6.0 when they're released, you know. That's generally what I do, it's much less of a pain in the ass to update all my mods.
In other news, what does the "environment" dropdown actually do? I can't figure it out, there's only one option and no panel for making more. Obviously I won't need it, lol. Just curious.

The new Minecraft 1.6 launcher can download several Minecraft versions in different directories. Each version can have its own set of libraries, parameters, etc. The Environment shows these downloaded versions and allows to use them when starting minecraft.
i just updated the magic launcher and the latest version of forge still says not compatible i have optifine above forge and the mad that needs forge under it but when i put forge and optifine second is says that forge and optifine has one error
I Installed the latest version of the launcher and if you use forge it renders the game mirrored upside down when running in the 1.5.2 environment, so you if you wanna use forge you have to use the classic enviroment. This happens with every version of forge.

they will always say there's an error, but there isn't.
put Optifine below forge and it'll be fine

This bug seems to be specific to Java 7 on MacOS:
The error shows that Java can not load the standard AWT library
Forge has an error, because it i not absolutely compatible to the 1.5.2 minecraft.jar, but it should still work.
The Friends List is still on the TODO.
Do you get an error message or something in the log?
They show the status of the Mojang servers or more correct whether the launcher can connect to them.

Had you read page 1, post 1, of this thread OR Optifine you would already know that!

Click on the link which says for Windows, for Mac, for Windows/Mac/Linux.
If you have windows click on windows
for mac, click on mac and vice versa.
There's nothing here but this sentence.
