My minecraft sound is not working at all with this. When I use the normal launcher it works and I have taken out all my mods and it still does not work. All my options are fine so I don't know what to do. Please get back and help. Thank you.
I haven't used Magic Launcher since the new default launcher came out, mostly because the new .minecraft configuration, and the new way mods are added completely boggled my mind and kinda left me confused as to what to do.
Does Magic Launcher, as it is now, still make it easier to use different profiles with different mods and configurations? If so, has anything notable changed since the update that changed everything?
Yes, it still does make it easier. All Forge mods now basically require going into the 'mods' folder and will appear in the 'External Mods' tab, but you can turn them on and off just like before for different profiles. Jar mods still go in the 'Mods' tab (not that there are many of left in existence).
There's a couple parameters that are useful to add to the 'Parameters' field of the 'Advanced' tab if you find you are crashing: -Dfml.ignoreInvalidMinecraftCertificates=true -Dfml.ignorePatchDiscrepancies=true
You will also have run the default Minecraft launcher to get different version of Minecraft and change to them in the 'Environment' field. The 'Classic' environment is now only for Minecraft before 1.6.x.
If you are using Forge you will have to use Forge's installer and the default launcher to get it set up before you can attempt to use Magic Launcher with it.
And recently, people have been having issues with sound due to yet another change by Mojang. Someone has previously figured out a fix for this so read a couple of pages back if you experience that.

Sounds good to me. I've been trying to get a personal modpack working lately, but while I'm taking a break from that I'd love to still play Minecraft without having to keep removing and adding all the mods again.
I'm starting to automatically get frustrated for no reason whenever I see the text "Ticking entity". Oy.
It looks like there was a stealth update to minecraft Apparently
Due to the path of language such as file path of the sound folder has changed
It seems that no longer can change the language sound or gone because when you start with magic launcher
If I delete assets folder and reload it with default launcher. And after launch magic launcher. I have only engish language! Can you fix this bug?
I recording video demonstration of this bug.

I am now having really weird issues, starting yesterday. I'm not getting any sound, and I'm getting this weird icon on the minecraft window. I don't get this with the vanilla launcher, so It's probably with this one. I have no mods loaded, and I'm running 1.7.2 with default settings. What is causing this?
to everyone having problems with the sounds, go to .minecraft and go into assets ->virtual->legacy copy everything inside the legacy folder and paste it into the assets folder (or just go to official launcher and run 1.7.2 to overwrite the changes to the assets folder that the snapshot made)
I am trying to run minecraft 1.7.4 on MagicLauncher 1.2.3 and I have the environment set to 1.7.4 and have 1.7.4.jar but when i try to play, I get this message. (By the way, i have a non-premium account)

I cant hear anything when i load the magic launcher up and play on go on the rega world or server, but when i go on the regular launcher i can hear sounds and ive tried to turn up my computer volume and minecraft volume but nothing is working plz hep me?!?!?!?
path not changeable: i can´t change the path in option-menue :-( it´s always: "C:\Users\Julia\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft" but i wan´t it to make: K:\Minecraft1 i can tell the path to the jar-file i wan´t to use: K:\Minecraft1\.minecraft\versions\1.6.4\1.6.4.jar i can tell the path to the base-folder(for mods i think): K:\Minecraft1\.minecraft the path to the Magic-Launcher is: K:\Minecraft1\MagicLauncher_1.2.3.exe plz help Julia
I just tried this and it worked fine. Created a new .minecraft folder on my E:\ drive and told magic launcher to use that as the base folder, and it loaded fine.
Still had the sound problem until I copied the assets files over as described above, in the main C:\Users\Dweller\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft folder. Apparently, some files must be loaded from that folder, at least until Magic Launcher gets fixed to use the new assets\virtual\legacy folder.

I haven't tried Magic Launcher with Minecraft 1.7.4 yet because there are no mods that I use that are updated to 1.7.4 - what mods are you trying to load in Minecraft 1.7.4? I wasn't aware any had updated yet, except for maybe the texture patcher, I haven't checked.

See einsteinsci's post above about copying files in the assets folder.
well the C: means computer and thats basicly where everything is stored. the magic launcher info wil be stored in your .minecraft
No, C:\ is the letter designation of a particular storage drive on a computer. Used to be, all computers had A:\ and B:\ drives, which were always floppies, and the C:\ drive was the first fixed, or hard disk drive. The rest of the drives got sequential letter designations from there.

yes loading fine, but from appdata-folder. it´s o.k., that the MagicLauncher.cfg is in appdata-folder(better it would be in the folder where you have your magiclauncher.exe). And yes.. it works. But you need the files in appdata-folder of minecraft - not only the MagicLauncher.cfg!
So you can change the path to the jar-file, the base-folder(for mods), but not the folder to minecraft itself :-(
Just a heads up for everyone: If you're launching 1.7.4 with Magiclauncher 1.2.3 and are getting something similar to the following error (CTRL+F SimpleLogger), it appears to be a 1.7.4 update problem. Hold tight, I'm sure we'll have a fix soon!

@ DB;
I tried the fix and it didn't work initially. I reread it and did as my edit below says and Magic now has sound. I'll confess I have not tried 1.7.2 again.
There is very little reason too, until somethings get updated IMO.
