The linux version isn't running for me. It generates a file named a bunch of gibberish, followed by (invalid encoding). This is after installing the libraries you've said to install.

What linux distro are you using? What minecraft version are you using?
Also, could you send me the file the program generated to [email protected]?
I guess it would something to do with your distro, since I tested this on Ubuntu and it worked fine. This is probably not the reason, but what was your process for creating the file. Did you click save, then type in a name, and it says "File saved successfully"? Where does it say "invalid encoding"? Is that inside the program, or when you try to open it? Btw, why can't you send it? Does your email program reject it? Thanks!

I literally just right-clicked MapItemEdit and clicked open. There was no save button to click on. No window opened. No program was visible. The only visible effect was a 0 byte file with the aforementioned name appearing in the folder. I should have mentioned that I'm running the 32 bit version of linux mint. Maybe the program is compiled for 64 bit.
I think what actually happens is that the shades of black are now shades of brown, and I confused it with the background of map items which is also brown.

Note how the shades of gray are now shades of brown - most noticeable on the picture of The Joker there.

I am working on a fix, but for now, does it work better when you use the "old colours" option?

Also, what version of minecraft and mapitemedit are you using? Make sure both are fully up to date!
Hi, I love your program! One of the things I use it for the most is a large project I have, where I take the .dat map files and export them as image files, so I can create a huge composite map of my minecraft world. I haven't seen any other program that can do that.
The only issue is that I can only export one map at a time, and the world my friends and I play in is over 6000 maps large, at the base zoom level. That means that it takes me a long time to export all of the maps, and is quite tedious.
I was wondering if you could add the ability to convert multiple maps at once? I don't know much about programming or coding, so if it's too much work for you, I understand. Thank you!
Is the movie "Downfall", the source of the hitler rants videos? Looks really cool
Howdy.
Added line, rectangle, and clear tools
Added command line picture export option
Howdy.

Linux Mint 17. Minecraft version doesn't matter if the program doesn't even run, but I'm running snapshots. I'll send you the file in a moment.
edit: I can't send the file. I can only give you the filename: O@@Ȩ@8 (invalid encoding)
Howdy.
