Seasoned world seed hunter here. I generate literally thousands of seeds to try to find rare formations, especially mountainous.
This program is amazing for seed hunting, for its ability to quickly draw biome maps and give locations that can be used to teleport to, especially extreme hills. Many thanks for making it ^^
I'm wondering what sort of voodoo magic makes stuff like this happen, and if it can be searched for. Do the biomes have any other additional variables similar to temperature that determine terrain "wildness?" Some mountains appear to be smooth and gradual, others ridiculous like the above example. Anything that could display any sort of information about this would be hugely helpful, but of course even now this is a wonderful tool :smile.gif:
There are a few other things I believe, but I haven't actually had the chance to look into them. I'm currently working on different map modes for the new version. (Which should help)
The problem with making a new version of a minecraft-related program, is that you always get sucked into play minecraft instead.
first of all i want to thank you for this awesome prog!
Works well, and is pretty useful!
But if i use it with any Minimap (especially Rei´s) your map is not facing north!
This is very confusing and so i would like a way either to change the direction in your map or face your map to direction 0 in the debug screen up!
In the last version your map is showing east top and that was very confusing at the first mom!
I donnot know if there are mistakes in the minimaps or in your map.
Minimap: 0 = North
Your Map 1= North
Due to some compatibility issues, I had to change some things about the new version of this. Is anyone opposed to the idea of this becoming web-based?
Edit
Unless anyone was a suggestion about how I should do this. Traditional java (using the normal drawing methods) seems a bit ... slow... not to mention bulky.
Skid, could you make find results order by how close they are to the Search at? I just tried to find Nether Ruins on this server, and remembered I don't have the map to assist me on which is closest. I scrolled down the list, and the order looked random, probably due to how they're made. Shouldn't be hard to do that simple math thing to find distance on it.
The above. Also, I'd rather open it as a program than web-based. Definitely.
Doesn't seem to be correct for 1.9 pre 4 - at least on one test anyway,
I figured it wouldn't. I have some things I need to do today though, so I should be able to start working at roughly 12pm PST, and from there it shouldn't take TOO long to get it working completely again.
First, thanks for your job on this tool, I use it in many ways, it helps alot.
Same problem for me.
With 1.31 version I had a warning that the program couldn't find msvcr100.dll, but when clicking OK, it worked fine anyway.
With 1.4 version I had the same warning but Stronghold Finder wouldn't open, so I downloaded the requested dll and now I have no warning anymore, wich is fine, but your tool crashes with the same error wndow as Wiesl...
The solution to both problems is just to run the .JAR version.

You can't simply add msvcr100.dll file to your PC, it's a part of Microsoft Visual C++ redistributable package, so if you don't install all of it, it's just useless to add simply the missing file.
You should take down the .exe download link until you fix it. I got some nasty Windows errors from this, first time I've seen this kind of error reporting since I moved to Windows 7.
All that processing doesn't sound like something this program would be doing. Seems like a drastic direction change for it, maybe someone else could do that?

I would do that myself, but I hate java and I don't want to waste time dissasembling minecraft to figure all of it out, when Skid has done it allready in this project :smile.gif:
And this tool is not open source afaik, so... :sad.gif: Although it doesn't have to be, I could use it as "api", but I would need Skid's permission for that... Or just the wrapper method that calls the minecraft code and generates the 2D map of it (which is used for drawing in the tool)
I like your idea, but the problem is going to be implementation. I suppose I could do it as an advanced search tool, but the more obvious question arises; Why not just search only in the same map. I mean, you've got an infinite area, and the ability to change where people spawn-- So why even switch seeds?
I feel special, thx!

Hmmm.. that's kinda odd... but I'll look into it.

Forget all of that, I figured it out.
That's not descriptive at ALL.

Sure, I can sort it. Might be a bit tricky with the changes, but it shouldn't be too much of a problem.
Minecraft or no Minecraft, my imagination runs wild...
Make sure you download the correct version of the program for your version of Minecraft.

To tell them how to live is to prevent them living.

Too bad my new version isn't ready yet D:
Could someone generate coords for -8539363200254235382? thanks <3

Hm, is it just in the newest version?
