Your zip file is larger than your map directory? That's odd, all mine have been about 40% smaller.
Ah, I should have been more clear. When I mentioned my save was 122MB, I should have clarified that
number is what MineCraft shows in the world selection screen. The folder was 202MB before it was zipped
down to 198MB.

When was the last time you tried uploading it?
I did have a server limitation that I worked out for larger files (>64MB) so it should work now. I was able to successfully upload a ~130MB file Saturday morning around 5am CST.
Hmm Well that is a bit strange. My first attempt to upload was around 8am CST Saturday morning. But that first
attempt made the flash plug-in for Chrome become unresponsive. I believe I clicked the "x" below the
"Choose PNG" button to attempt to clear that message out after I uploaded my PNG. But than flash crashed
and had to exit Chrome. Later attempts that day were the ones to give me the "IO. Error #2038." However I got those through Firefox.
Oh yes, my last attempt which seemed to finish yesterday around 2pm CST seemed to have been successful.
However it didn't seem to show up on the website. Should I try again? Ill wait for a response before I do so
though.
Suggestion if not mentioned yet:
you should add a section to each save's post that allows people to post their comments on the save and a section to rate them so we can know what is the best of the best :biggrin.gif:

I do see your upload is there and the archive did make it up... twice actually :smile.gif:
*EDIT*
Actually, I see you did get one to succeed. The processor automatically picked it up and started rendering it. And I was saving the 91MB world to run when I was able to watch it. This one started on it's own when I wasn't paying attention lol. Seems to be working great. Day mode finished and working on night mode. Taking forever though! :smile.gif:
It doesn't show up on the website unless it receives an archive, screenshot, title and description. Then it's marked as complete and gets displayed and added to the processing queue.
I would hold off on uploading it again as I'm going to be working on the world editing tonight and once that's done you should be able to edit the incomplete upload (add a screenshot, title, description) and that will get it going.
I did get your PM. I appreciate you taking the time to work on a design, it looks pretty slick!
I don't consider myself a designer as I'm sure you can all tell from the website. I tend to get headaches and bloody noses when I force myself to design a website. :smile.gif:
At this point in time however I'm not quite ready to make a design change as I want to finish some of the major features so I can make the site live for everyone and then I will look at a rework of the design.
That said, I have had 4-5 people say they would be happy to help with design so when it comes time to rework the look of the site I'm thinking I will have a logo contest (to start) and let the visitors to the site vote on the winner. Then I will look at moving forward with more of an overall design change.
I appreciate the interest however at this time I've been overwhelmed with responses and need to spend my time working on finishing the site. I will post here when the link is live so be sure to check it out in the future.
I am anticipating having the site ready in 1-2 weeks for launch.
For the people who are beta testing, I have the map generation complete *fingers crossed* and am running through most of the queue now as I head off to bed. There are a few larger worlds that I will run tomorrow while I can monitor things to make sure my server doesn't blow up.
For those of you asking about seeds, I managed to setup the map generation daemon to grab the seed from level.dat so this will be displayed in the very near future.
More updates to come including; comments, ability to upload new versions of maps and edit existing maps, handling problematic/partial uploads better, AND MORE!
I can't say thanks enough for all the positive feedback and time taken to help test the site. Your contribution to this community resource will make it better for all of us to use. :Diamond:'s for all! :smile.gif:
HEY I ASKED BEFORE YOU CLOSED IT! I DEMAND TO JOIN!
* I would like to see some tests with larger maps. Anyone have something that's bigger than the 34MB that's up there now and willing to try uploading it? *
Yeah, I'll give it a try with some bigger stuff this weekend.
Tomorrow I will send an 234 Megs world with Nether included.
Hi Beta Testers (and everyone else following this thread),
I've made some updates over the past few days so I thought I would post an update for you to check it out.
[*:qf7q9ki8]Seed is now grabbed from level.dat on map generation and displayed on the site
[*:qf7q9ki8]You can also edit your world maps now. A little edit icon will appear next to the title of your worlds. Clicking on that will allow you to edit the title, description, upload a new screenshot and upload a new archive. When you upload a new archive it will automatically be submitted to the processing queue to generate a new map
[*:qf7q9ki8]Added *limited* BBCode support when entering a world description. This will make it easier to format longer descriptions (Pjpuas :smile.gif:, thanks for the long description -- got me thinking about how to handle this stuff).
[*:qf7q9ki8]Added a "Read More" link to toggle long descriptions so they aren't all displayed on the page making one world really large.
[*:qf7q9ki8]Adjusted processing daemon to update status on the Process Queue page. You can now see what the daemon is doing (generating day/night/cave map, cleaning up, etc). It will also make your maps available as they are complete. IE, once the day map is done processing it will be moved to the live area so it can be viewed.
The next things that I'm working on are:
[*:qf7q9ki8]Commenting system on worlds which includes BBCode editor
[*:qf7q9ki8]Ability to edit profile
[*:qf7q9ki8]Ability to setup custom markers on the map with descriptions and screenshots to give additional highlights on your world
[*:qf7q9ki8]Better handling of spawn position and centering map on the spawn position
Assuming all goes well with the new updates I will be (re-?)launching as a public beta so we can get a lot more people using the site. As of now I haven't had a lot of people reporting problems besides the minor upload issue which I believe will disappear once the username/password is removed.
Not many updates this past week. I got slammed with client development work and was scrambling all week to get it done. I'm working on the last bit of critical work and *fingers crossed* I should be back on this tomorrow.
Not to mention this lack of "View your posts" feature is really pissing me off. So frustrating and I spend a lot less time on these forums because of it... :sad.gif:
I tried the "edit" feature today, seemed to work just fine. :smile.gif:
Thanks for giving it a go. I haven't heard of a lot of problems so I think it's really close to launch for everyone to use and get a ton more maps up there and get things going.

I too tried the update feature sometime this past week. Seems to run very smooth.
Im looking forward to be able to share my maps, I've had a few requests to share lately,
but I wont be sharing until this site goes live. The few other map sharing sites Ive seen
so far lack a lot in comparison with what you've made so far Skeight.
Hope to see the site going live soon. And thanks again for all your hard work.
Some new updates that I've been working on over the past few days. Just a few more features that I would like to see implemented and then I will be going live.
[*:s30qm2sy]Adjusted the way screen shots are handled so the pages load slightly faster and the larger images are loaded when they are requested.
[*:s30qm2sy]Your user page now displays partial uploads in case of problems with uploading so you can complete the upload rather than having to start fresh each time.
[*:s30qm2sy]You now have the ability to delete worlds
[*:s30qm2sy]Added seed to the worlds view page (somehow this was missing).
[*:s30qm2sy]Commenting system implemented
[*:s30qm2sy]Displays comments under world map w/pagination when required
[*:s30qm2sy]Ability to quote existing comments
[*:s30qm2sy]Preview posts prior to submitting
[*:s30qm2sy]Ability to edit/delete comments
[*:s30qm2sy]Ability to report comments for various reasons (spam, inappropriate content, etc)
[*:s30qm2sy]Comments are automatically hidden after three reports until further investigation can be done.
More updates to report. Finding some descent time this week to spend on this project! :smile.gif:
Also, I am currently re-rendering all the maps to take advantage of some new stats that are available. This is running now and should be done sometime tomorrow. Once all these maps are rendered I think it's time to go live unless someone finds a major bug that I should address before then.
Here's what has been updated:
[*:33sh3esg]Added a settings page to allow you to change your password and/or email address.
[*:33sh3esg]Spawn point is automatically pulled from level.dat and map is automatically centered on spawn when page is loaded
[*:33sh3esg]Compass icon was added on spawn location
[*:33sh3esg]Additional button at top to automatically return to spawn if you lose your place when exploring the map
[*:33sh3esg]Added the "forgot your password" system
That's it for now. I have some more interesting features in the works to make the site even better, however I think that it's pretty much ready to go live! :smile.gif:
Thanks again to all the great beta testers. I really appreciate you taking the time to test out the site, work through the bugs and provide me with your feedback.
