I don't really see what this does if you can just enable PvP on a server, or some it make it so only some parts are PvP? That would be kind of useful for my arenas that I have been planning.

If I understand correctly, you're asking why use this when we have regular PVP?
In my opinion this makes the Minecraft PVP experience more focused. You define warzones (arenas) anywhere on you server world and fights are confined to those areas. Within a warzone, only adversaries from different teams (teams are warzone-specific) can attack each other (unless you turn on friendly fire in the warzone-name.txt config file). Each team has a life pool, i.e. a bank of lives that its players consume when they respawn. When that life pool is empty, the next death causes that team's defeat. Other teams get a point and the warzone blocks are reset to their original state.
These are just some of the features which make the plugin useful if you want a quick and dirty team deathmatch-like experience.

However I just tested this and it seems to be broken. :/ Down the road, I'd consider adding a global "pvpInWarzonesOnly=true/false" setting in war.txt so that warzones can become the only place you can do PVP, since that seems to be a concern for a lot of people.

Actually, the current setup (v0.2) is perfect for a small private server and may be a bit too unwieldy and unstable and spammy for a big server. I definitely haven't tested for performance yet, which is critical on big servers.
I'm not sure if I'm being a noob and it's already been implemented somehow but I have a request. If there's anyway you can "dual someone" and chat request/challenge another player to a dual that would be amazing. I know a lot of heat goes on in servers sometimes and it'd be nice to "/challenge Player" and tp to a zone with preset items and 1 life and go bananas. Just a thought that I had. Great mod!
This is really cool. I plan to start up a small server so that I can play this with my friends. I was wondering if maybe you could put up a pre-made map for those of us who are too lazy to make our own battlefields, because this way, I could have it up and running quicker.
