Yes, thank you so very much for continuing to work on this. Sadly version testing289 does the exact same thing as testing288, says my world is empty. I only have one map converted to the new version, it crashes trying to load any map that hasn't been converted (I can definitely understand that if it's meant only to edit Anvil worlds). I uploaded my current world save to my webhost if that helps: http://tirsden.com/m...rldsave_ssp.zip (63mb)
I'm going to try converting my flat-world survival map and my pseudo-creative one (it's technically a survival map but I used peaceful mode and mods to turn it into creative). I'll let you know if MCEdit will open them or if it says they're empty once they're done converting.
Edit 1: Okay, did a bunch more playing around after the Anvil conversions while I was at it, here's the results I got:
Flattery (flat-world survival mode, created February 22, 2012): MCEdits says the world is empty.
Saturn (survival mode I used mods/peaceful to go psuedo-creative mode, created September 26, 2011): same thing, "world is empty"
Ambiguity (creative, created today): same thing, "world is empty"
Spork (surival, created today): same thing, "world is empty"
...so all my worlds old and new are coming up "empty," including my oldest one from Sept 2011 when I first started playing.
I tried clicking Create Chunks with the Spork world. I didn't change anything on the next screen and clicked OK. I realized via the command window (DOS-looking one) that it was starting a server, which my computer is too oudated to run properly. I left it running for 5 minutes with an hourglass cursor for MCEdit, then had to end task as it was not responding.
I restarted MCEdit, selected Spork to load again, was told it was empty again so clicked Create Chunks, chose Flatland instead of Microsoft Server (changed nothing else), clicked OK, watched the progress bar and as it hit the end the program crashed with the error message: "Minecraft Map Editor has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." I duplicated this twice.
Out of curiosity, I started MCEdit to see if I could create a brand new world with the program itself. I clicked Create New World and then Create without changing anything. Saved it as Untitled World (the default suggestion)... it started a server again *sigh* so end task here we come. I repeated the steps and changed Microsoft Server to Flatland, and after watching the progress bar hit the end, the program crashed once again with the error: "Minecraft Map Editor has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."
My system specs are a 1.1ghz AMD Athalon CPU, 1 gig RAM, 256mb Nvidia GeForce 6200 graphics card.
Edit 2: I tried loading Spork in Minecraft which loaded in fine without any changes having been made to it by MCEdit (I thought it might have corrupted the world or made all new terrain, but nope, my lame little dirt house was still there). The MCEdit-created flatland world showed as "needs converted" in the Minecraft world menu, and after conversion did indeed prove to be a flatland world. Tried loading it with MCEdit again and it says the world is "empty" like all the other Anvil ones. This is really weird. O.o
Hold up. You're using testing289?
Why are you using testing289? The new builds still work with McRegion (in fact the new builds still work with levels back to Classic).
Because some buttons like Fill and Brush acted like the Quit button, so when I clicked on them, MCEdit would close. Could you kindly explain again how I can stop MCEdit from not saving and not changing my Minecraft Edited World?
The mouse movement really could use a tweak. It is near impossible to go downwards with continually having to stop and move the mouse as it insists on panning across the map instead.
Have you tried switching to "Fly Mode" in the options?
Just curious...
I really want to start making a bunch of the maps I've designed.
Should I go ahead and download MCEdit and try to work around the issues or should I wait for more bugs to be fixed?

I have a problem extracting chunks in my world. Basically, the operation just aborts saying
Error during <function extractChunks at 0xwhatever>: AttributeError("'NoneType' object has no attribute chunkPositions",)
after confirming the save file dialog. It occurs with both old (converted) and new worlds. Camera view and chunk view behave equal.
I hoped this bug would get fixed with a new version (I already examined this in the prior 0.1.0-10-gbcf7 version and use 0.1.1 now), but apparently it didn't yet. This problem seems to be familiar to other users – see mcschematics.com/?topic=11886.
Edit: I run MCEdit on a 64-bit Windows 7 system with a dual-core AMD Athlon II CPU and 4 GB RAM, if this helps.
Hopefully, someone could help me out here! Because I think it's a significant bug, it would be nice to know someone like TkTech takes care of it. Nevertheless, I am very thankful for having this nice piece of software! Keep up the good work!

I suggest you download it and try it out. If it works fine, then great. If there's problems, you might want to wait a little.

Fill and Brush acting like the Quit button? That must mean you have Intel graphics, which MCEdit doesn't work with. Until it gets fixed (which it may never be), you'll have to use a friend's computer that has nVidia or AMD graphics.
I still don't get your situation. Are you editing Anvil (1.2) or McRegion (the old format) worlds?
I will try again, coz i want use MCedit when i'm offline:
I have a question, i work with MCedit on my Mac, but every time i want use it
LittleSnitch ask me permission to connect at "github.com" with IP 207.97.227.239, if i deny the connection the app will close!
But with the oldest of MCedit versions I could also use it offline. please explain how i can use it without authorize the connection?
Thanks
P.S.
I try to search something about MCedit and github on the forum, an I take a look on the previous pages but..waoo 336! pages no tnx
The auto-update feature does that. It's a bug. It was fixed in 0.1.1.
Don't have an answer for you, but I'm interested in finding out too. I've noticed that copying between maps, selections higher than 128 seem to get chopped off somewhere in the process. I've been meaning to ask if this is something to do with .schematic format.
Im working on an awesome custom map and if i try to copy schematics into another world, it will show the schematic like i copied it from the other world, but when i hit import, it only copies blocks until 128 height.
[Bump] Is the schematic import limited to 128 blocks?
where is the linux version?? i really want to import pixel arts to my server
You need to run the program from source. The instructions are for Windows though, so you'll need to take them 'with a pinch of salt' and do a little research. If you work your way through this, please keep some notes and maybe add instructions to the wiki.
Oh. So if I use testing289, I can never use MCEdit if I have Intel Graphics? And I edit Anvil worlds.
I really hope that it doesn't count for testing289, or my dreams will be crushed. Please respond,
If you use the current versions they don't seem to work with Intel integrated graphics. I don't have a clue about old versions.

If you require aid with Custom NPC's give me a shout (In the thread, not PM's). I can read a bit of error reports, know most of the NPC workings (I'm attempting to work on scripting) and have been using it since its 1.0 version. Otherwise I'll help with any questions or problems I can.
I am using the latest version(0.1.1) and apparently, whenever I click on the brush tool, MCEdit crashes. WTF? Now MCEdit is useless to me! FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU...

I just took the Minecraft Noob test! Check out what I scored. Think you can beat me?!

Integrated Intel graphics. Read the thread. Basically any of the last 20 pages would have told you this.
I'm not here for flame…but from your answer, appears you're looking for confrontation…
I have a answer in the same question page? pag.336? learn how to use a forum next time, if someone ask for an answer to a question, who give it, need to QUOTE the question before answer...read again page 336, and find a quote with my question, and a REAL answer, after that…you need to learn how to be more more polite!
I'm to lazy to say go f**ck yourself, so give me a favor, do it yourself, tnx
The fact is your question has been asked and answered many, MANY times over the last I don't even know how many pages. If you had just randomly picked any of like the last 50 pages then you probably would have found your answer. I don't think you are one who should be telling others to learn how to use a forum.
i have this exact same problem. How do u fix it??
By downloading the latest version...

No they don't. Take the time to read.
The versions of MCEdit (not Minecraft) on that page are 0.1.0 and 0.1.1.
You could also use your initiative and download the program and try it out.

They appear empty because old versions of MCEdit can't read the new map format.
codewarrior doesn't work on MCEdit any more.
