About to release a bunch of stability fixes + limit tweaks. Sorry about that last missing round and all the bugs.
Map's looking even better, but negative chunk coordinates still bring up weird results, so I'm gonna poke at it for a while longer before I (probably) completely scrap the current system and redo it.
Should have the next release done by tomorrow. Note to self: auto-updater.
I don't suppose you'd be able to make an integrated chest editor?
after the next update, ofc
I've been thinking about it, but I'd like to integrate it into the map editor so you can just right-click a chest and magically get an editing dialog instead of hunting through menus and trying to figure out which chest is which. Since the map is broken atm, it's at a lower priority until I figure out why it's rendering incorrectly.
Also mine cart editor, right click a cart, bring up it's inventory menu. And, can you edit your inventory while playing the game, or do you have to be out of minecraft.

You have to exit the map, it's the only reliable way to mess with it.
EDIT: So I take it that it's usable now? Or is it unreleased as of yet?
It's available, just not all working. Most features are in place, I'm mainly having trouble with the map editor. I may also add in clearer indicators as to whether a world has been saved or not.
Currently rewriting the map viewing control, wishing stuff was easier.
uh, another limit-based thing. health can go to 9999. :wink.gif:
also, do you plan a graphical menu to choose the items? it would be a great help to people. that list is kinda hard to read :tongue.gif:
Yeah, I know. I also plan to allow you to type in a decimal or hexidecimal block ID, or a partial name in order to narrow the search.
My main focus right now, though is on the broken map, which is frustrating me to no end. I had it working at one point a week ago, but I lost the code and am now confused as to why it's not working.
I'll tweak that limit, but I'm kind of in a game of chess with myself over this map, and am losing. :/
Great, it works! Err kinda.
I opened up the world.dat or whatever, messed with my inventory, and saved. I go into the level, my inventory tinkering is gone! Help?

You have to hit save as and save over the original file.

No way of recovering the code? What exactly doesn't work with the map?
I also looked at the site you gave me (btw, great work so far): User:N3X15/Infdev File Format.
Are the filenames of the .dat files offsets from the spawning location? Why does the folder structure sometimes not coincide with the filenames?
I'm aware that MineEdit no longer works for the current save system. Since the saves are in flux, I'm holding off on further development until Notch finalizes the format.
The map control is completely broken for the time being. I'm currently rewriting it.
Going to do a commit today since the map is no longer crashing, although it's still broken.
Current changelog:
[*:9f5sazvt] Blocks updated to most recent infdev listing.
[*:9f5sazvt] Map is now displayed via OpenGL for better framerate and less GDI+ lag (also a nice panning animation and no black panning control background).
- Saddle
- Mob Spawner
- Iron Door
- Cobblestone pressure pad
- Wood pressure pad
- Lever
- Button
- Red ore block
- Red ore
- Red ore torch
- Updated minecart image
If i've missed any items/blocks please post and let me know and i'll add it asap.
Minecarts are at the very bottom of the block selection, but cart tracks seem to be missing.
It'd be easier to mod yourself steel and sticks anyway, since you get 16 tracks per craft.

Don't ever stop working on this. :biggrin.gif:

Although it doesn't matter now, my infdev is broken. :sad.gif:

Don't worry, I'm good at chess =D

Download the file below and extract it in to your existing MineEdit folder, say yes when prompted to overwrite.
