Would love to get some more Stuff in this mod and maybe a better placeing of Tracks? (Like in the Realtrain mod with some Markers or so)
I acutally love the Mod and even the Real Train mod (Simple the same, but with Eletronic and other Stuff...), but if i had to choose i would probaly choose Real train mod because its better to place Tracks and even Modable for other Player (like Contentpacks from Flans)... Would love that here too .-.
Wishes:
- Better and Easier Track Placeing (maybe with makers like in Real Train Mod)
- Features to create contentpacks with own Tracks, Trains, Clocks and so on
- Enable/Disable Coal need for Trains (Even in Survival Mod.. Just for the Operators)
- Add Electric Trains (need Electricy to work)
- Gots a other "collision" system for walking in the Train when the Train drives
- Maybe an "Autopilot" System where the Train simply can Drive on its own (even hold on at marked points for a while)
- Open Doors and Close Doors
- A Notification Sound System like "Attention, a train drives trough" or "Dadadaaa In a Short time we are reaching the Northpol"
- Maybe a Smoother "Stop" system.. The Brakes arent so smooth i think ^^
So Hopefully to gets an Answer of the Mod creator, because actually im making a Subscriber Server with a Train System with "Real train Mod", just because playing tracks here is very difficult sometimes and so on... Maybe you can take a look on the real train mod and look at the Track placing system... would love that...
Umm, 10 min after writing this i saw Rowam... How Works ROWAM and how it works with this here?
………I don't think this post permits a response. Don is similar policies as Naiten. They don't have the code fixed well enough to just pull out a random locomotive for the heck of it. Also, I'm not exactly sure if you know how manners work but if someone works on a project, you don't just go "I perfer this other one that isn't at all related to this one"
As for that notification system, there's a thing called redstone and tripwire. The rolling stock act as an entity too, so a tripwire will solve your problems. If not that, use ROWAM's detector rail. Only problem is, Don hasn't been keeping ROWAM up to his Branch's level because he has higher priorities.
So just in general, I don't suggest you demand features that require lots of work from a mod creator without specified requests or such. They have lives too. A problem we had with new forum users on both this branch and the original branch by Naiten is that people demanded tons of crazy things which take tons of time. Tons of time that the creator may want to spend somewhere else doing something else. Like for say, working on his other mods or just doing totally different things.
Wow. I see somebody has got you riled up! Ironically, the majority of things he posted actually are already implemented in this branch. I will correct you, however, that the newest version of ROWAM does work with this branch. The only difference is a lack of decorative blocks as they've been ported from ROWAM.

Hey you gotta admit we're probably both used to having to defend the original branch for small posters. You're the one who implemented the "do not respond to people under 4 posts" policy so I found it annoying that the same spamy posts came along to your branch
Ain't that the truth! Spammy posts are the first level of mod success. though, so I can't be that mad. Here's my take on the levels:
Posters with low posts start spamming the forums.
You start to see regulars on the forum.
People make YouTube reviews of your mod.
People want to host it on the non-English Minecraft forum pages.
9minecraft shows up with a copy of your mod.
People start to help with coding/graphics.
You have someone you can trust with development of your mod, even if you aren't there to do so.
Some of my mods are on level 2, some are on level 6, and some are off the scale. I recently found out that my flight simulator mod had a YouTube video with almost half a million views. That gives me a warm fuzzy. Still, I got my modding start with ROWAM, so it'll always be supported as long as ROW is.
On another note: Naiten must be having a much tougher time that me updating his mods to 1.8. The new rendering system makes rendering anything of complexity a royal pain in the you-know-what. For example: the crossing block and platform block currently get the texture of the neighboring block for use as their own. In 1.8, all textures are named in external json files. This means that blocks no longer store textures, so the platform and station blocks can no longer reference them. Other headaches that result from this is items that have multiple textures requiring multiple json files, and the lack of a simple block rendering system. All in all, I don't see any reason for mods to update, except for the fact that users don't like to stay on older versions.
Is anyone else running a multiplayer sever who can help describe the issues that multiplayer is having? placing rolling stock effectively crashes the server with out killing it.
Specifically what?
I feel instead the lamps & bench should cost less by using some iron bars instead of ingots in its recipe & the platform block recipe needs to either give more blocks per craft (6 like slabs?) or have a less costly recipe.

I like! I've gone ahead and put those recipes in an update, so look for them in the OP. I agree with you kandivia, the lamps and platforms were a bit expensive. Those have been tweaked to give 2 and 6 blocks respectively. There are a couple of other minor tweaks, like the arrangement of the dyes, but other than that it's pretty similar.
BTW you forgot the pole lamp Dumboldoor.
@Savage_Donkey
I wasn't even aware that was a bug. It's fixed in the update.

Woops, I also changed the pole clock (sorry about the double post)
I also noticed that the switch stand recipes are reversed. The redstone torch was supposed to be for the lit one
Sorry if i missed a post, but is there any way to build the actual trains ? I don't see any recipes for those, not on NEI either. Not much point being able to build all the other bits if you have nothing to put on the rails IMO. I was SO excited - have been wanting to have this awesome mod on our survival server for many years - and then SO let down.

We just need the recipes & textures for the parts to build it and he'll surely implement it if everyone likes it. I posted a recipe and a few of my textures for the Yer' a couple posts ago. If anyone wants to try and make decent textures for a boiler/piston/etc., go ahead. I couldn't figure out how to make that look good >->'

Just use this version of ROW and ROWAM. My branch and Naiten's original branch are incompatible.

Wow this looks awesome! Really excited to start playing with this, thanks man
Noticed the bug with the tank cart angling the wrong way on inclines still exists. Is it fixable?

Put in some time and made some decent textures. Feel free to use them.

It seems the O-class engine is slower than it used to be. is there a way to restore its original speed? thanks in advance!
